일제말기 근대비판 담론의 시간성 연구: 세계사·전통·비상시 (A Study of Temporality of a Critical Discourse on the Modern in the Late Japanese Colonial Period)

  • In the late Japanese colonial period, from the Sino-Japanese War until the Pacific War, critical discourses on the modern were prevalent in Japan and the Joseon. Despite the absence of a consensus about the specific definition of the modern, most thinkers agreed that the modern was something to be overcome. While some regarded naturalism and capitalism of the West as the essence of the modern, some others named scientism and humanism as the nature of the western modernity. Additionally, some criticized the temporal concept of historicism and brought new meanings of 'tradition' into relief, and some others advocated overcoming 'the West inherent in us'. This study is to consider the temporality of the theory of overcoming the modern focusing on the following three notions-world history, tradition, and emergency-, and examines the antinomy of them. The first notion to consider is 'world history'. The theorists of overcoming the modern, including the Kyoto school, discarded the progressive ideology that had led the Western modern history, and instead introduced 'world history' as a new notion. Although this resulted from the imperialistic embracement of the theories of Ranke, a major positivist historian from Germany, it contained antinomy of remaining in 'history' which was the modern temporal view. The second notion is 'tradition'. While the critical mind of 'world history' brought 'time of world' into question in the context of temporal realization, the notion of 'tradition' was to understand 'time of history' itself as the modern and overcome it. The critical mind of the notion involves the attempts to criticize regarding history as a 'progressive' process and to discover tradition as 'the present past' or 'the eternal present'. However, it also contained antinomy; the 'tradition' here was a notion that was created in the modern times, not passed down from ancient times. The third notion to consider is 'emergency', which was a method to define the present time as a transition period toward a new era, relating to states of war. However, the theorists of overcoming the modern did not regard 'emergency' as a particular time that strayed from normal states, instead they thought is as 'a regularized exceptional state', namely 'a state in which exceptions have become regulations'. However, the notion also contained antinomy since the word 'emergency' connotes abnormality.

  • Background: A chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) assessment test (CAT) has recently been developed as a short and simple method for assessing the quality of life in COPD patients. The object of this study was to assess the usefulness of the Korean version of the CAT for assessing COPD patients in an outpatient clinic. Methods: The study included 60 COPD patients in a stable state from an outpatient clinic. The authors investigated the frequency of acute exacerbation during aprevious year through reviewing medical records. We evaluated the spirometry test, a 6-min walk distance test, and obtained the MMRC dyspnea scale, the Korean version of the CAT, and the BODE index at the time of visit. To assess the usefulness of the CAT, correlations between the CAT and other methods were evaluated. Results: The mean age of patients was $68.3{\pm}8.6$ years and 95% of patients were male. There was a significant correlation between the CAT score and $FEV_1%$ (r=-0.323, p=0.012), the frequency of acute exacerbation (r=0.292, p=0.024), the MMRC dyspnea scale (r=0.554, p<0.001), the BODE index (r=0.380, p=0.003), and 6 MWD (r=-0.372, p=0.004). The mean CAT score increased according to the GOLD stage (stage 1, $10.7{\pm}4.5$; stage 2, $13.1{\pm}7.9$; stage 3, $16.3{\pm}6.2$; stage 4, $16.5{\pm}14.8$; p=0.746). Conclusion: The CAT was shown to be useful for the assessment of COPD severity. Therefore, the CAT is an easily applied and simple method for assessing COPD severity in an outpatient clinic.

임계경로 탐색과 프로젝트 활동 일정 수립 (A Critical Path Search and The Project Activities Scheduling)

  • 본 논문은 프로젝트 일정을 계획하고 관리하는 PERT/GANTT 차트를 쉽게 그릴 수 있는 임계경로 탐색 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 프로젝트 일정을 결정하는 임계경로를 계산하기 위해 일반적으로 CPM (Critical Path Method)이 적용되고 있다. 그러나 CPM은 프로젝트 수행 활동들의 수행 기간과 상호 의존 관계에 따라 초기에 작성된 네트워크 다이어그램에 대해 임계경로를 계산하는데 5 단계를 수행하며, $T_E$ (The Earliest Time)을 계산하는 노드 (활동)들의 순서를 결정하는 방법을 제시하지 않아 특정 노드의 $T_E$를 정확히 계산하지 못할 수도 있다. 또한, CPM으로 얻은 네트워크 다이어그램의 활동들의 수행 순서가 시각적으로 명확히 표현할 수 없어 Lucko는 9 단계를 거치는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 반면에, 제안된 알고리즘은 먼저, 초기에 작성된 네트워크 다이어그램에 대해 너비우선 탐색으로 노드들을 레벨로 재배치하여 수행 순서를 사전에 결정한다. 다음으로, 각 레벨에 속한 노드들을 임의로 선택하여 $T_E$를 계산하는 단계만을 거쳐 임계경로를 즉시 결정한다. 마지막으로, 각 레벨에서 임계경로에 속한 노드들의 $T_E$를 기준으로 임계경로에 속하지 않은 노드들의 $T_E$에 따라 약간의 이동으로 프로젝트 활동들의 수행 순서를 시각적으로 명확히 표현하도록 하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 10개의 실제 프로젝트 데이터에 대해 적용성을 검증하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 모든 프로젝트에서 임계경로를 구할 수 있었으며, 활동들의 수행 순서를 시각적으로 명확히 표현하였다. 또한, 제안된 알고리즘은 CPM의 5단계를 1단계로 단축시키는 장점과 더불어 활동들의 수행순서를 명확히 표현하기 위한 Lucko의 9 단계 수행 과정을 2단계로 간단히 하였으며, PERT/GANTT 차트로 즉시 전환시킬 수 있는 장점도 갖고 있다.

Scratchpad Memory Architectures and Allocation Algorithms for Hard Real-Time Multicore Processors

  • Time predictability is crucial in hard real-time and safety-critical systems. Cache memories, while useful for improving the average-case memory performance, are not time predictable, especially when they are shared in multicore processors. To achieve time predictability while minimizing the impact on performance, this paper explores several time-predictable scratch-pad memory (SPM) based architectures for multicore processors. To support these architectures, we propose the dynamic memory objects allocation based partition, the static allocation based partition, and the static allocation based priority L2 SPM strategy to retain the characteristic of time predictability while attempting to maximize the performance and energy efficiency. The SPM based multicore architectural design and the related allocation methods thus form a comprehensive solution to hard real-time multicore based computing. Our experimental results indicate the strengths and weaknesses of each proposed architecture and the allocation method, which offers interesting on-chip memory design options to enable multicore platforms for hard real-time systems.

  • Time management is one of the critical tasks in project management. Based on the theories of total quality management, this authors presented a project time management method, total time management (TTM), so as to facilitate highway project time management. This paper discussed the four fundamental characteristics of TTM: total factors management, staff management, project life cycle management, and Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycle management. Now, most managers use computer software to manage the project. In order to make the theory of TTM more executable, the authors develop a project time management system suitable for TTM. This paper presents this time management system's analysis processes including system requirement, key functions etc..

  • 대공방어용 임무지향 교전통제 컴퓨터는 장시간 동안 임무의 중단없이 방어 임무를 수행하여야 하며, 복잡한 내장형 임무 소프트웨어를 탑재하는 컴퓨터에는 대공방어 임무의 특성상 확실성과 안정성 및 신뢰성을 보장하여야 한다. 구현된 임무지향 교전통제 컴퓨터에서 임무수행의 확실성과 안정성은 4 장의 프로세서로 구성되는 분산 컴퓨터 아키텍처에 의해 보장되며, 신뢰도는 분산 구조의 컴퓨터에 저비용의 능동 예비 이중화(ASR) 고장감내 기법을 적용하여 보장되도록 하였다. 소프트웨어적인 능동 예비 이중화 고장감내 기법은 높은 신뢰도와 신속한 고장복구 성능을 가지는 교전통제 컴퓨터를 저비용으로 구현하므로 대공방어용 컴퓨터에 매우 적합한 기법이다. 본 논문은 능동 예비 이중화 고장감내 기법의 메커니즘과 성능분석에 대해 기술하고, 교전통제 컴퓨터에 ASR 기법과 하드웨어적인 DMR 및 TMR 고장감내 기법을 적용한 경우의 MTBF, 신뢰도, 가용성 및 저비용성을 비교분석하였다. ASR 기법은 72 시간의 임무 시간에 대하여 TMR과 유사한 임무 신뢰도를 제공하며, 저비용의 구현이 가능하므로 교전통제 임무지향 컴퓨터의 고장감내 기법으로 최적인 것으로 분석되었다.

Current Status of Pediatric Critical Care in Korea: Results of 2015 National Survey

  • Background: The aim of this study was to describe the structure, organization, management, and staffing of pediatric critical care (PCC) in Korea. Methods: We directed a questionnaire survey for all Upper Grade General Hospitals (n = 43) in Korea in 2015. The first questionnaire was mainly about structure, organization, and staffing and responses were obtained from 32 hospitals. The second questionnaire was mainly about patients and management. Responses to second questionnaire were obtained from 18 hospitals. Results: Twelve from 32 Upper Grade General Hospitals had pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) and 11 of them had the PICU which was exclusive for children. Total number of PICU beds in Korea was 113. The ratio of the number of PICU beds to the number of children was 1:77,460 in Korea and this ratio is lower than that of other developed countries. The mean number of beds in the PICUs was $9.4{\pm}9.3$ (range, 2-30). There were 16 medical doctors who were assigned for PCC and only 5 of them were full time pediatric intensivists. In the 18 Upper Grade General Hospitals that responded to the second questionnaire survey, there were 97 patients in the PICUs with an average number of $5.7{\pm}7.2$ (range, 0-22) on the survey day. The mean age of the patients was $3.4{\pm}5.6$ years. The mean length of hospital stay was $82{\pm}271days$. The mean Pediatric Risk of Mortality score III was $9.4{\pm}7.8$ at the time of admission to the PICUs. Conclusion: There is a considerable shortage of PICU beds compared to those in developed countries. In addition, the proportion of PICUs with PCC specialists is much lower than those in the US and European countries.

상태 공간 확장에 의한 멀티레이트 LQG 제어 (Multirate LQG Control Based on the State Expansion)

  • In discrete-time controlled system, sampling time is one of the critical parameters for control performance. It is useful to employ different sampling rates into the system considering the feasibility of measuring system or actuating system. The systems with the different sampling rates in their input and output channels are named multirate system. Even though the original continuous-time system is time-invariant, it is realized as time-varying state equation depending on multirate sampling mechanism. By means of the augmentation of the inputs and the outputs over one Period, the time-varying system equation can be constructed into the time-invariant equation. In this paper, an alternative time-invariant model is proposed, the design method and the stability of the LQG (Linear Quadratic Gaussian) control scheme for the realization are presented. The realization is flexible to construct to the sampling rate variations, the closed-loop system is shown to be asymptotically stable even in the inter-sampling intervals and it has smaller computation in on-line control loop than the previous time-invariant realizations.

구조동역학에서의 오차 추정과 시간간격 제어 알고리즘 (Error Estimation and Adaptive Time Stepping Procedure for Structural Dynamics)

  • Step-by-step time integration methods are widely used for solving structural dynamics problem. One difficult yet critical choice an analyst must make is to decide an appropriate time step size. The choice of time step size has a significant effect on solution accuracy and computational expense. The objective of this research is to derive error estimate for newly developed time integration method and develop automatic time step size control algorithm for structural dynamics. A formula for computing error tolerance is derived based on desired period resolution. An automatic time step size control strategy is proposed based on a normalized local error estimate for the generalized-α method. Numerical examples demonstrate the developed strategy satisfies general design criteria for time step size control algorithm for dynamic problem.

  • The time paramters most frequently used in hydrology are the tuime of concentration, lag time , time base, time to equilibrium , time to peak, time of travel, and residence time. Especially the time of concentraion constitute an important part of operating rainfall-runoff modeling and determining critical rainfall intensity. In the result of simulation , we discoved that SCS foumula has the highest value with length, Kerby with height and SCS with slop respectively, while only Kraven formula has the lowest value in them. With concerning to relative sensitivty, the time of concentraion was marked the constant effect according to increase of length and slope level, and the length has much more effect than the slope relatively in parameters.
