  • Recently, as violent crimes of crime without reason (Korea : Do not ask), women and the elderly are getting serious. In the existing system, many CCTVs are installed, but it is difficult to prevent crime due to only follow-up measures after a crime occurs. This device prevents crime through this device for incidents in shaded areas and closed spaces such as apartments and buildings. To do this, we research this technology to develop products and software. It sends an alarm signal using communication technology to a specific place where you want to receive an event of an alarm or a CCTV device operated using image analysis big data technology and convergence sensor technology for a specific target of the behavior expected to be a crime or movement. Develop the device. This development device researches and develops this device and supplies low-cost devices to consumers, which is used as a device that predicts the occurrence of crime in advance, processes it as an alarm signal in real time, and transmits it, and constitutes a standalone device and a server. • This article investigates intelligent security integrated platform for real-time crime response and preventive crime prevention. This study analyzed intelligent crime prevention platform elements by analyzing crime prevention system/platform research, intelligent crime prevention research, and case study of municipality integrated operation center crime prevention system. Through this, we developed a practical intelligent security platform, and suggested a linkage with existing municipalities and smart city integrated platform system considering scalability. This enables CCTV monitoring, which is used only for existing post processing, to cope with real-time crime. It is expected that it will be able to solve the incidents in golden-time by grasping the precise position of the complainant not only in the outdoor but also indoors. It is also possible to provide citizen-centered crime-prevention social safety net information sharing service by enhancing citizen participation as well as improving control efficiency. The intelligent security platform has advantages that it is easy to spread the municipality because it is developed considering existing municipal system, smart city integration platform, and linkage and expansion with other security services.

  • Semicontinuous data are characterized by a mixture of a point probability mass at zero and a continuous distribution of positive values. This type of data is often modeled using a two-part model where the first part models the probability of dichotomous outcomes -zero or positive- and the second part models the distribution of positive values. Despite the two-part model's popularity, variable selection in this model has not been fully addressed, especially, in high dimensional data. The objective of this study is to investigate variable selection and prediction performance of penalized regression methods in two-part models. The performance of the selected techniques in the two-part model is evaluated via simulation studies. Our findings show that LASSO and ENET tend to select more predictors in the model than SCAD and MCP. Consequently, MCP and SCAD outperform LASSO and ENET for β-specificity, and LASSO and ENET perform better than MCP and SCAD with respect to the mean squared error. We find similar results when applying the penalized regression methods to the prediction of crime incidents using community-based data.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the amount of media coverage related to drug crimes and the actual number of drug-related arrests. It aims to determine the implications of this relationship for the formulation of police policies in response to drug crimes. To achieve this, we collected and analyzed 50,355 domestic online media coverage data from 2001 to 2022 and drug crime arrest data compiled by the National Police Agency. The analysis confirmed a significant causal relationship between the amount of online media coverage of drug crimes and the actual number of drug crime arrests. This relationship was found to be influenced by the existence of dominant issues and the relevance of famous incidents. It was determined that media coverage was also influenced by public interest beyond drug crime arrest numbers. Based on these research findings, the police have proposed the need to monitor the amount of crime-related media coverage and enhance security capabilities for crimes that receive public attention in order to gain the trust of the citizens.

  • Ensuring national security in cyberspace is becoming an increasingly important issue, given the growing number of cybercrimes due to adaptation to new security and protection technologies. The purpose of this article is to study the features of counteracting, preventing, and detecting crimes in the virtual space of Ukraine on the example of cases and analysis of the State Center for Cyber Defense and Countering Cyber Threats CERT-UA and the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. The research methodology is based on the method of analysis and study of cases of crime detection in the virtual environment of the State Center for Cyber Defense and Countering Cyber Threats CERT-UA and the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. The results show that the consistent development of the legal framework in 2016-2020 and the development of a cyber-defense strategy for 2021-2025 had a positive impact on the institution-building and detection of cybercrime in Ukraine. Establishing cooperation with developed countries (USA) has helped to combat cybercrime by facilitating investigations by US law enforcement agencies. This means that international experience is effective for developing countries as a way to quickly understand the threats and risks of cybercrime. In Ukraine, the main number of incidents concerns the distribution of malicious software in the public sector. In the private sector, cyber police are largely confronted with the misappropriation of citizens' income through Internet technology. The practical value of this study is to systematize the experience of overcoming cybercrime on the example of cases of crime detection in a virtual environment.
