This review examines computational simulations of thermoelectric properties, such as electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and thermal conductivity. With increasing computing power and the development of several efficient simulation codes for electronic structure and transport properties calculations, we can evaluate all the thermoelectric properties within the first-principles calculations with the relaxation time approximation. This review presents the basic principles of electrical and thermal transport equations and how they evaluate properties from the first-principles calculations. As a model case, this review presents results on $Bi_2Te_3$ and Si. Even though there is still an unsolved parameter such as the relaxation time, the effectiveness of the computational simulations on the transport properties will provide much help to experimental scientist researching novel thermoelectric materials.

The purpose of this study was to identify the original quality of design by Issey Miyake and the relationship between the modern expression of art and his design regarding the form, internal symbolism, and Japanese tradition. The bottom current of the modern expression of art has two current: intention to autonomy or purism and intention to contingency. According to analysis of Miyake's design, it was found that Miyake has directed his attention to coexistance of fabric and the body with a pure fluid sculptured form based on two dimensional rectangular fabric. And his plasticity of dress was also made against the fitted structure form and idea of Haute Couture, emphasizaing on his own creativity and insisting on a creative collaboration between the designer and wearer. Finally, the fact that his design was inflnenced by traditionalison of Japanese costume and current modern expression of art was proved.

In this research, first of all, the special feat-ures of Haute Couture design world (1990∼1996) prevailed in Paris and Rome are investigated, and additionally the understanding of collection concept and design structure analysis are performed to show the various method-ology of creative design. Expression method and design method are the main criteria in analyzing, and the main results of this research are summarized as follows : 1. Most of designers in Paris and Rome ex-press the traditional costume style. Paris designers are focusing on the expression of design morphology through the abstraction and re-appearance without being confined to theme expression ; Rome designers are expressing their main ideas utilizing the fashion image as their theme in lieu of expressing the design morphology. 2. Most of the designers in Paris and Rome are using simple lines for their design. Paris designers prefer the plastic design based upon formal and symmetrical balance of informal and asymmetrical balance to the partial trans-formation design ; Rome designers are enjoy-ing rather the partial transformation using the detail and trimming than the plastic design.

This Study has been conducted with many concerns about various teaching methods that attainable the substantial learning process of practical affair system in order to cope with the rapidly changing situation of the times and the educational environment in the field of design. Design Process Studying Method which utilizes 'Story Telling' as the process where the whole learning is achievable, in accordance with the educational target of the creative professional technician training that complies with the requirement of the times, and by progress of the integrated structure dividing as 1, 2, 3 stages, it doubles various studying effect, and it enables to expect the connection studying effect with other study-subject. Since the process of such program induces the positive participation of the student, it was known that a superior interchange of information is attainable, and due to its enthusiasm and interest on the study, the participating rate for study was appeared very highly.

Although design process is a creative work, it includes a lot of iterations. Statistics show that about 15 to 40 percent of the total design activity is spent on time-consuming retrieval of technical informations such as standard part, handbook, engineering equation,previous design and so on. On the other hand, product structure and parts specifications change with the design process, which also need to be traced accordingly. The BOM, design history, and all the relecant technical informations can be managed can be efficiently within a unified framework called configuration. This paper presents a prototype of a configuration manager which is a part of the engineering data management system for machine tools.

As cultural Heritages are source of the national history and a life transition, their extinction is a fatal shock as result of cutoff the genealogy of the creative national spirit. So, we have necessarily to protect them, and to get the duty and the responsibility which the cultural inheritance hands over tnem to descendants with preserving and meaning safely at present time. In these days, the risk of fire in the Cultural Heritages building is increased because of rash changing environments from the indiscreet development of them. Accordingly, in order to get the original transmission of the Cultural Heritages, this paper involves being intensive the fire safety information of the Cultural Heritage in kyonggi-do province, analyzing their diagnoses, and studying a Fire Safety Prevention Management model to protect and to maintain them continuously. Therefore, it is to contribute from this approach to collecting fire safety information, analyzing diagnostic problems in fire accidents, and to manage the prevention method for protecting and maintaining the Cultural Heritages.

"The engineering education program for environmental intention and value creation" has been executed from 2008 to 2010 in Suzuka National College of Technology, which program was promoted as "Good Practice for Education" by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Japan. "Eco-car project" is one of these practical ecology/environment education programs. The project's members have been learning and researching the environmental managements by the process of design, manufacturing, and assembly of solar car, highly effective fuel consumption car (Eco-run car), electric vehicle and fuel-cell car. Also this project was supported by some professional experts of the local industries and community. The students learned the actual industrial technique, the engineering management and the structure of local industries by this project. In this paper, the environmental intention engineering design education with local industry collaboration is introduced.

In the knowledge based economy, it's important to know the place where the proper knowledge locates as well as to produce the creative knowledge. This paper intends to clear up the linkage structure between research fields and its application areas. 2,135 proposals submitted to Korea Science and Engineering Foundation were analyzed to investigate the relationship between research fields and application areas. The results are as follows; first, 51.8% of the basic research is devoted to the advancement of knowledge, second, 40.8％ of that is applicable to the industry, third, 5.8% and 1.2％ of that contributes to environment and social welfare.

This study deals with the expressive characteristics of Installation Art and their applicability to environmental design, and as such, aims to specify a artistic methods from the contemporary art. What Installation Art is search of in their works is "the state of relationships" which is "to replace the concept of form with that of structure, and the concept of space with that of the environment" that is, the terms of relations in the overall environment of time and space. Installation Art essentially relies on a multiplicity of forms and attitudes leading to projects which positively make use of "spatial-temporal process" to reaffirm and "problematise" their open-endedness manifest in complex contextuality and shifting temporality. This study presents a new interpretation of spatial-temporal dimension, site-specificity, and intermedia art that we find in Installation Art and tries to combine that new artistic insight a with environmental design to provide a basis for integrated art. This study places a great emphasis on the interdisciplinary approaches to the environment we inhabit, which I hope will contribute to generating a greater number of creative possibilities for environmental design.

The propose of this study analyze an expression method of a surface in commercial buildings, and it is to show an example of a surface design in Manhattan. In particular, I focus on the following three categories : representation element of surface image : materials and structure method, the property of transparency, and an electronic surface and media screen. Unlike the past era in which surface design in commercial buildings was viewed just as a mean ornament, it has become more important in the presently era because diverse expression technologies in surface design makes architects express there creative ideas. Besides, the diversity of surface design expands the concept of cultural space as it provides various graphic element that human desire for multi-cultures. So diversity of surface will accelerate.
