The aim of the present study was to investigate the relations between wooden toy and development of infant and young children by taking only the commercialized wooden furniture which would be suitable for the developmental area for infant and young children, among the physical environment influencing the balanced development and development for them. The recommended standard for them was the commercialized good and the only advanced toys for the development of infant and young children was primary selected, in case of different furniture for same purpose with regardless of manufacturer, country of origin and price. The selected wooden toys for development of infant and young children covered the following test conditions. They keep the soft and clean surfaces and the corners are the round-finished so safe. The dyeing and coloring are so clear like the rainbow-colored in compliance with the international safety norm, and the paint material used are harmless to the people, because they have already passed the European Safety Norm EN 71 which is the most authoritative and strict standard in the world and contained accordingly little heavy metals, toxic substances and also allergy pigment under the maximum permissible standard. The size of wooden toys are not small enough for infant and young children to be able to swallow and this is important check point, because infants tend to feel the object in their own touching and therefore to have everything to the lip. The paint used was the toys-oriented goods and proved by the test regarding saliva and sweat.

This study explored the historical meaning and the present practices of Indonesian batik. Relevant literature was reviewed first; subsequently, interviews and observations were conducted to achieve the purpose of the study. Historically, batik was an integral part of the Javanese court art as well as a representation of each regional culture. Batik also became an important means to reveal a national identity in postcolonial Indonesia in the 1950s. There exist two types of traditional and modern type batik in present Indonesia. The traditional batik refers to batik tulis, batik cap, and the combination of tulis and cap. The modern batik is comprised of a batik print as well as the combination of the print and the traditional batik. The traditional batik was practiced at the small-sized village batik workshops and in the government batik research center. A few batik workshops often co-operate with modern screen print factories; however, the use natural dyes for the dyeing of batik cloth is rarely found. Batik was used for varied objects made from fabric materials that include clothing, small fashion items, living supplies and furniture, as well as fine art such as paintings and wooden crafts.

스칸디나비아의 디자인은 디자인 역사에서 독특한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 특히 스웨덴은 스칸디나비아 국가들 중 가장 먼저 그들만의 고유한 20세기 디자인운동과 양식을 발전시킨 나라였다. '스웨디쉬 모던(Swedigh Modern)', '스웨디쉬 그레이스(Swedish Grace)'등의 개념으로 특징지어지는 스웨덴의 디자인은 20세기 초 독립에서 시작된 기능주의 운동을 받아들여 보다 우아하고 따뜻한 인간미 넘치는 디자인 양식을 만들어 내었다. 휴머니즘과 함께 단순성, 아름다움, 민주주의 적 이상이 조화된 이 양식은 국제적으로도 큰 성공을 거두어 유럽뿐 아니라 미국의 디자인 발전에도 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구에서는 스웨덴 디자인이 발전되어온 과정과 스웨덴의 디자인 교육, 기업체에서의 디자인 등을 통해 스웨덴 디자인의 특성이 과연 무엇이고 그것은 또 어디에서 비롯되는 것인지에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study to know the effects of craft programmes on the visual perceptual development of the children with developmental disabilities. Sixty children were diagnosed with developmental disabilities. They divided into two groups that were the experimental group and control group. The children were subjected at K-Rehabilitation Center and C-child Care Center in Gyeong-Ju for 6 weeks from Feb to Apr (twice a seek, total 12 times) in 2011. The development programmes for the children disabilities are based on occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The intervention of experimental group included occupational therapy based on the craft programmes, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The one of control group included occupational therapy based on function, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The MVPT-3 and K-DTVP-2 were done before and after the therapy to compare visual perceptual development ability and to know the results of the test. Results were as follow: First, there were significant differences of MVPT-3 score before and after the therapy. Second, there were significant differences of K-DTVP-2 score before and after the therapy. The results mean the craft programmes had a positive effect on the visual perceptual development of the children with developmental disabilities.

In this study, we have selected the coach related to woodworking and furniture of master craftsmen of the Republic of Korea, to confirm the process of until the background and coach of their growth. And through the world of their work after the coach has been, it was done and try to have an opportunity to explore the elements of future development. That is, by studying analyze the characteristics of their work through analysis and coach life Korea masters system, it is studied to try to implement a design identity. Through the growing season and ripe stage of Korea woodworking coach No. 1 Yu Seok Geun coach, he is I will have later become the coach of up to current status and coach of his life. Analyzes the work of Yu Seok Geun coach to study, work of master craftsmen is to explore the direction of being able to approach close to the masses.

An experimental study is carried out to investigate the near-wake characteristics of a NACA 0018 foil with a flat plate. Two-frame grey-level cross correlation PIV method is used to measure the local flow characteristic around a pitch damping foil to control the vertical motion of high speed crafts in a circulating water channel. The analysis also includes angles of attack 10 and 20 degrees respectively. Reynolds number $Re{\fallingdotseq}3.5{\times}10^4$ based on the chord length(C=100mm) of NACA0018 has been applied during the whole experiments. The distance between the foil and the flat plate is D/C=0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 respectively. The channel effect according as the distance between the foil and the flat plate has a close relation with the velocity distributions around the foil. In the wake of 20-degree of attack, the complex turbulent flow and a thick boundary layer are formed due to the processes of vortex generation and dissipation.

활주형선은 고속 운항시 선저에 동적압력을 발생시켜 선체를 부상시켜 침수표면적을 감소시킴으로서 저항이 감소하게 되어 고속의 항주가 가능하게 된다. 또한, 활주형선 선저부에 공기공급을 유도하면 고속 주행시 선저 공기공급에 따른 접수면 감소로 인하여 전체저항 감소에 따른 속도향상과 연비절감 효과가 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 고속 모형시험이 가능한 실 해역모형시험기법을 이용하여 고속 활주형선을 대상으로 선저부에 공기공급을 유도하여 침수표면적 감소에 따른 저항성능 개선을 위해 공기공급 유무에 따른 고속 활주형선의 저항특성을 비교, 분석하였다. 시험결과, 선저 공기공급 활주형선이 공기공급이 없는 선형에 비해 저항감소 효과가 현저하게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

In modern society, designers started feeling moral and social responsibility in the aspect of environment as a position of suggesting something new. Rather than creating another waste to make something innovative, the concept of Upcycling which is about adding design or utilization to the existing recyclable materials to raise their value to products or art works has started settling down. Among them, there have been various researches on the use of offcut waste to be dumped. Such use of waste can be found in Jogakbo (patchwork), one of our traditional boudoir crafts. This could be connected to the concept of the modern Upcycling in the aspect of giving new values to the wasted pieces of fabric through needlework. Therefore, this study suggested Stitch work as new Upcycling furniture by seeking for the common connections between Upcycling and traditional Jogakbo, and then reinterpreting them in the same viewpoint. It was an opportunity not only to rediscover 'the esthetics of waste' by changing the awareness of 'behavior of dumping', but also to reinterpret or reconsider the tradition. Based on this, it is expected to continuously have new attempts to use offcut waste for eco-friendly design in the future, and also to have opportunities to seek for new directions of Upcycling to rediscover new values through the revaluation of valuelessness.

Lacquer has a high value as a coating of typical arts and crafts in East Asia including Korea, Japan, and China and traditional representative of the gorgeous satin that is fit to the cultural conditions of each region. Lacquer is harmless to the human body and its robustness, preservatives, moth proofness, and strong heat resistance can maintain a long life. It seems that it will be able to make a significant contribution to create a variety of products if we continually study and raise the productivity and quality of the goodness of these lacquer. In this context, we reviewed the Pitae lacquer wares, which is one of the lacquer of traditional techniques that can be applied to the development of daily necessities and cultural product. Joining the goodness of harmless and environment-friendly lacquer and the characteristics of the leather that can produce a variety of physical beauty can develop household goods of tradition and modernity in harmony. It is worthwhile re-interpreting the tradition in the aspect that we can develop our culture from a modern, plastic, and artistic point of view.

This article aimed to provide objective and practical information on wood terms of making furniture focusing on the wood species that furniture designers and firms in Korea have used to create furniture from the traditional up to the modern times. Through the content analysis method with wood information from literature related to furniture at home and abroad, studios of making the traditional Korean furniture, domestic furniture firms, and the catalogues of Korean crafts council and Korea furniture society, the wood species of making furniture was studied in the terms showing the number of the species classified in needle leaf tree and broad leaf tree. As a result, the furniture wood terms were analyzed about 230 species including 200 broad leaf tree and 30 needle leaf tree. 74 out of 100 domestic species studied have been used from the traditional up to the modern time for creating the traditional Korean wood furniture. The 230 species were classified by such detailed uses as furniture mainly and the related small objects, interiors, architecture, exteriors, materials like plywood, toys, musical instrument, exercise equipment, household items, and so on. In addition, some of the terms were clarified such as Madika to Jelutong, Karin to Paudauk and Narra, Red sandalwood to Indian rose wood, and Cherry blossoms from home, the same family as Cherry from abroad but the different species, and so on.
