  • The influence of fluorescence, scattering, and absorbance in turbid material by light scattering was interpreted by the scattered fluorescence intensity and wavelength. The effect of optical property in scattering media was investigated. It is very important to study the charge coupled device(CCD) in spectrometry because we can use the molecular energy level, molecular structure, absorption or emission, intermolecular reaction, weakly bound molecular energy, photochemistry, fluorescence and photodynamic therapy. CCD is very essential to study the molecular structure and medical engineering combined laser spectroscopy in the modem physical and chemistry. Accordingly, this study has designed and manufactured the electromagnetic spectrometry with CCD, and has analyzed the hematoporphyrin derivative.

  • Aluminum anodization method has been investigated for fabricating charge coupled device(CCD) with two-level aluminum gate structure. Al2O3 films were formed to a thickness of 400-500A, by anodizing aluminum with 30-35V of anode voltage for 2 hours using 2 % ammonium tartrate solution as an electrolyte. Breakdown voltage of these films were about 30 volts. Using above mentioned Al2O3 film as an insulator between two aluminum electrodes, CCD transversal low pass filter has been fabricated. CCD transversal low pass filter with 17 tap coefficients has shown 22 dB stop-band attenuation. The operating clock frequency range of the fabricated device was from 3 KHz to 100 KHz.

  • A 3-D numerical simulation of a buried-channel CCD (Charge Coupled Device) with a deep depletion has been performed to investigate its electrical and physical behaviors. Results are presented for a deep depletion CCD (EEV CCD12; JET-X CCD) fabricated on a high-resistivity $(1.5k\Omega-cm)\;65{\mu}m$ thick epi-layer, on a $550{\mu}m$ thick p+ substrate, which is optimized for X-ray detection. Accurate predictions of the Potential minimum and barrier height of a CCD Pixel as a function of mobile electrons are found to give good charge transfer. The depletion depth approximation as a function of gate and substrate bias voltage provided average errors of less than 6%, compared with the results estimated from X-ray detection efficiency measurements. The result obtained from the transient simulation of signal charge movement is also presented based on 3-Dimensional analysis.

  • In our study, ceramics coatings by additives of nano alumina and magnesia have cured on 304 stainless steel at $170^{\circ}C$ 2h. We designed and experimented the coated specimens that were characterized by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy using the charge coupled device and scanning electronic microscopy(SEM). The result was revealed the ceramic coatings added fillers has more excellent on adhesive property and scratch resistance, and less weight loss in acid solution than ceramic coatings non-added fillers. Therefore, this study has designed and manufactured the electromagnetic spectrometry with CCD and then analyzed the coatings on 304 stainless steel using the High Resolution Charge Coupled Device in improving the corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel. Nowadays, coatings of stainless steel have increased by industrial demand in hygienes, aviation, instrumentations and robotics as the industry special application develops.

  • CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) wafers, with a layer of micro lenses on top, usually are not passivated with dielectric films. Micro lenses, in general, are made of polymer material, which usually has a large affinity for particles generated in the various chip fabrication processes, most notably the wafer sawing for chip-dicing. The particles deposited on the micro lens layer either seriously attenuate or deflect the incoming light and often lead to CCD failure. In this study we introduce new type of saws which would significantly reduce the particle-related problems found in conventional type of saws. In the new saws, the positions and diverging angles of side and center nozzles have been optimized so as to flush the particles effectively. In addition, an independent nozzle is added for the sole purpose of flushing the generated particles. The test results show that, with the new saws. the ratio of the particle-related CCD chip failures has been dropped drastically from 9.1% to 0.63%.

  • The objectives of this study are to measure and to remove Cerenkov lights generated in a fiber-optic radiation sensor by a charge-coupled device. we have fabricated a fiber-optic radiation sensor which comprises an organic scintillator, a plastic optical fiber and a charge-coupled device. Charge-coupled device as a light measuring tool has many advantages which are easy in multi-dimensional measurements, high spatial resolution and relatively low cost.

  • An AO TIC system for performing real-time correlation of two signals is constructed. It uses AOD(Acoustooptic Device) and CCD(Charge Coupled Device). An acoustooptic technique for achieving signal correlation isdescribed. The statistical analysis for correlator's output SNR is presented and experimental procedure for implemention of this technique are result shown. Since the correlation intergration is performed in time rather thatn space, the SNR of this system can be greatly improved.

  • A charge-coupled device (CCD) area image sensor has been demonstrated with an experi-mental 16$\times$16 prototype. The prototype is a vertical frame transfer charge.coupled imager using two-phase gate electrode structures. In this device, ion-implanted barriers are used for two -phase CCD, and NMOS process has been adopted. The total imaging setup consisting of optical lens, clock generators, clock drivels, staircase signal generators, and oscilloscope is easily achieved with the aid of PROM . English alphabets are displayed on the oscilloscope screen using the total imaging set-up. We measure charge transfer inefficiency and dark current for the fabricated devices.

  • Optimum characteristics of digital X-ray sensor components were analyzed to develop intra- oral dental digital X-ray image sensor using indirect method. Parametric analysis was carried out to optimize the phosphor thickness and the fiber optic plate (FOP) coupling to charge coupled device (CCD). X-ray absorption and light diffusion in the phosphor layer were analyzed by the Monte Carlo method. Real time X-ray image was obtained with prototype X- ray image sensor using general CCD camera with 1∼10 Ip/mm resolution. It has been previously shown that large resolution degradation in X-ray images was caused by miss alignment of FOP to CCD and optical adhesive selection. In this study, we reported that X-ray image quality was greatly improved by using optimized characteristics of alignment device and phosphor thickness.
