The Impact of Job Characteristics upon Corporate Performance in the Financial Industry (직무특성과 성과요인 간의 영향 관계 분석 -금융업을 중심으로-)

  • Existing research indicates that job design influences not only a worker's psychological well-being but also the individual and organizational performance. This study has been motivated by the need to provide useful implications for increasing the efficiency of business operations. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships between job characteristics and performance factors in the domestic financial industry. The conceptual framework has been developed based on Hackman & Oldham's job characteristics model and the related literature. We conducted a survey of employees in the domestic financial firms to test the conceptual model and hypotheses, and analyzed the data using the structured equation modeling method. The results of the empirical analysis indicate that the variety and autonomy of a job positively affect corporate innovation, confidence, and job satisfaction and that corporate innovation and job satisfaction positively influence job commitment. This research designed to examine the relationship between job characteristics and organizational performance will make a contribution to the improvement of business efficiency in our society.

  • In korea, since November 1982 these two small group activity (QC circle convension and Factory Saemaul activity small group convension) has been united, many problems have been disclosed that are aganist the basic principle more or less. Worker's small group within their working place to improve the surroundings creatively. In practice, however, many group are so typical and impetuous of the material effect that it is worried to be inclined to outform rather than contents. Effective small group activities are presumed to be successful only with labour management cooperation on the basis of human-orient management philosophy. The small group activities are also prevalent in service sector. More derivative methods have been developed and more members are willingly participation in training programs. The small group which is basically a horizontal organization unit, promptes communication within the whole organization, In consideration of social circumstances and traditions, the flexible model of the small group activities suitable to the corporate environment, will contribute to industrial development.

The Effects of Labor Force Compositions on the Performance of Korean Venture Businesses (벤처기업의 인력구성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper analyzed the effects of changes in temporary workers on firm performances, and the effects of different workforce portions of business functions on corporate performances, respectively, using Korean venture business survey conduected in 2013. Results show that the performance of venture businesses decreases significantly, as the portion of temporary workers increases, which is more pronounced in small companies than in medium companies. In addition, the portions of workforce for administration, R&D, production, and sales don't have uniform effect on firm performance, where medium companies are affected significantly by the portions of production and sales, while small companies do not show significant relationship. This analysis implies that innovative firms, based on knowledge workers, need to use caution when they plan to increase temporary workers, which may lead to lower performance. However, we need further research for the basic causes of the possible lower performance.

The Influence of Worker's Stress and Anxiety on Work Commitment: Focused on Mediating Effect of Smartphone Addiction (직장인의 스트레스와 불안이 업무몰입에 미치는 영향 : 스마트폰 중독의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purposes of this study were to find smart-phone addiction how to mediate between worker's stress, anxiety and work commitment. The subject of survey was 329 workers in a public cooperation, and the data were analyzed by AMOS 18.0. The major findings were as follows; First, the higher the stress and anxiety, the more the direct effect on smartphone addiction. Second, smartphone addiction showed a significant negative relationship with work commitment. Third, smartphone addiction played a mediating role in the relationship between stress, anxiety, and work commitment. Workers with high levels of stress and anxiety were over-dependent on smartphones, which resulted in a decrease in work commitment. In order to prevent the problem of smartphone addiction of workers, it is necessary to prepare guidelines for correct use of smartphone in the workplace and service support should be provided according to the level of addiction. In addition, in order to improve work commitment, active support from the aspect of corporate welfare is needed to manage stress well. Finally, this study has a policy implication in that it reveals the route leading to smartphone addiction.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest implications for improving training performance by studying how the capacity of IPP workers and the characteristics of training programs affect the training performance through social support of employees. The study was conducted by distributing the online questionnaire to 270 IPP learning worker(of 9 university). As a result, it was found that the characteristics of the learning worker and the characteristics of training programs were positively related to the social support of the employees, and their social support was positively related to the training performance. The results of this study can contribute to the training performance when used as reference materials for selection of trainees and participating companies and development and operation of training courses. However, the limitation of this study is that the objectivity of the result is rather low by deriving the response centered on the recognition of the learning workers. In future studies, it is necessary to increase the objectivity of the results through three-dimensional cross-checks with training participants.

  • Purpose: Since COVID-19 was first discovered in China in December 2019, it has rapidly spread around the world, causing serious economic and social problems not only in individuals' lives, but also in businesses and countries. Individuals, businesses, and governments have all made various efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Although the roles of individuals, companies, and the government are important to respond to and manage infectious diseases, previous studies have only partially studied the roles. Therefore, in this study, the roles of individuals, companies, and the government to achieve results in responding to infectious diseases disaster management A comprehensive study was conducted on this issue, and it was attempted to understand the impact of workers' perceptions of infectious disease disaster management and government and corporate capabil]ities on disaster response performance. Method: The survey was conducted for workers in the automobile manufacturing industry in Ulsan, Gyeongju, and Yangsan, and frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed. Result: It was found that worker perception had a positive effect on both government and corporate capabilities as well as disaster management performance. In addition, government capacity and corporate capacity had a positive effect on disaster management performance. Conclusion: The results of this study are meaningful in that they reveal that not only workers' perceptions but also the capabilities of the government and companies are important to achieve disaster response performance. In addition, workers should make good use of opportunities for education and participation provided by the government and corporations, and make the most social efforts that workers can make.

The Image of 'New Man' in Men's Fashion in the mid-1980s (1980년대 중반 남성 패션에 나타난 '뉴 맨(New Man)' 이미지)

  • This paper is purposed to clarify that an increase of the matter of concern about men's fashion in the mid-1980s was coincided with rapid change of images for men and diversification within the context of economy, society, culture and to analyze the characteristic of each fashion and the meaning. Findings are as follows: 'New men' played a key role creating and communicating the new male image through the media, as a new masculine appeared in the middle of 1980s. Especially it was spreaded into with British as a center between the generations of young men described as a white-collar worker about the ages from 18 to 35 specifically and appeared by the cultural background in accordance with the spread of consumerism, materialism and post modern feminism and the development of men's fashion. There were 2 types of fashion styles for 'New men' image on the media in the mid-1980s. The First is 'power suit look style' which is self-conscious, including 'corporate formal suit look' and 'soft & sexy suit look'. The Second is 'extravagant body conscious style' which characterize the decolletage and androgynous, including 'tough sports look' and 'sexy skirt look'. Lastly, the 'New men' image means a man as a visible object and a man in the image world.

  • The first national QC Circle Convention sponsored by Industry Advancement Administration in 1975 was the beginning of employees group activity from a national point view. Subsequently some events such as the first nationwide Factory Seamaul activity small Group Convention, which was supervised by the ministry of Trading and Industry and Factory Seamanulundong promotion Center, paved the way for proliferation of the group activity through all kinds of manufacturing. Although since November 1982 these two conventions has been united, many problem have been disclosed that are against the basic principle more or less. Worker's small group activity is, essentially, a trouble shooting oriented voluntary small group within their working place to improve the surroundings creatively. In practice, however, many groups are so typical and so impetuous of the material effect that it is worried to be inclined to outform rather than contents. Effective small group activities are presumed to he successful only with labor management cooperation on the basis of human-oriented management philosophy. The small group activities are also prevalent in service sector. More derivative methods have been developed and more members are willingly participating in training programs.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find empirical studies the causal relationship among positive defining representation, negative defining representation, surface acting, deep acting, dissatisfaction of job, and intention of job transfer. Methods: The collected data through the survey by customer satisfaction team of "A" company call center. Results: The result of this study is that emotion and behavior norm influence on deep act of expressing both positive impacts of the employees. Conclusion: Feelings of corporate representation norm is psychologically of employees that because it affects even also must facilitate the surface acts and internal acts of employees and job dissatisfaction at the same time due to emotional dissonance and emotional exhaustion and turnover are hidden on the back emotion norms in the contact department, it should be aware of the need to address the emotional problems. Companies need to develop a variety of programs with attention to addressing the emotional difficulties experienced by workers.
