  • The tube structures act like cantilevered box beams and effectively resist lateral loads. In result, they are adopted as a high-rise buildings system. However, the shear lag in tube system prevents the idealized tube behavior such as a cantilevered box beam. Therefore, the studies on shear lag phenomena are necessarily requested. The presented papers are almost studied on framed tube structures and tube in tube structures. However, the study on the shear lag in the tube structure with core wall is lack. Thus, in this paper, the shear lag of the structure is studied. The shear lag coefficient is defined to investigate shear lag phenomena. However, existing shear lag coefficients are not adequate for understanding them. Therefore, on this study, new shear lag coefficient is suggested. In addition, the shear lag in the tube structure with core wall is analyzed by changing the five structural parameters of stiffness factor in frame, stiffness factor in wall, stiffness ratio, the number of stories and the number of bays.

  • This paper presents the design, fabrication and performance of a reinforced concrete beam strengthened by GFRP box plate and its possibility for structural rehabilitations. The load capacity, ductility and failure mode of reinforced concrete structures strengthened by FRP box plate were investigated and compared with traditional FRP plate strengthening method. This is intended to assess the feasibility of using FRP box plate for repair and strengthening of damaged RC beams. A series of four-point bending tests were conducted on RC beams with or without strengthening FRP systems the influence of concrete cover thickness on the performance of overall stiffness of the structure. The parameters obtained by the experimental studies were the stiffness, strength, crack width and pattern, failure mode, respectively. The test yielded complete load-deflection curves from which the increase in load capacity and the failure mode was evaluated.

  • The Saccharomyces cerevisiae PMR1 gene encodes a Ca2+-ATPase localized in the Golgi. We have investigated the effects of PMR1 disruption in S. cerevisiae on the glycosylation and secretion of three heterologous glycoproteins, human ${\alpha}$1-antitrypsin (${\alpha}$1-AT), human antithrombin III (ATHIII), and Aspergillus niger glucose oxidase (GOD). The pmr1 null mutant strain secreted larger amounts of ATHIII and GOD proteins per a unit cell mass than the wild type strain. Despite a lower growth rate of the pmr1 mutant, two-fold higher level of human ATHIII was detected in the culture supernatant from the pmr1 mutant compared to that of the wild-type strain. The pmr1 mutant strain secreted ${\alpha}$1-AT and the GOD proteins mostly as core-glycosylated forms, in contrast to the hyperglycosylated proteins secreted in the wild-type strain. Furthermore, the core-glycosylated forms secreted in the pmr1 mutant migrated slightly faster on SDS-PAGE than those secreted in the mnn9 deletion mutant and the wild type strains. Analysis of the recombinant GOD with anti-${\alpha}$1,3-mannose antibody revealed that GOD secreted in the pmr1 mutant did not have terminal ${\alpha}$1,3-linked mannose unlike those secreted in the mnn9 mutant and the wild type strains. The present results indicate that the pmr1 mutant, with the super-secretion phenotype, is useful as a host system to produce recombinant glycoproteins lacking high-mannose outer chains.

  • IoU (Intersection over Union) is the most commonly used index in target detection. The core requirement of target detection is what is in the image and where. Based on these two problems, classification training and positional regression training are needed. However, in the process of position regression, the most commonly used method is to obtain the IoU of the predicted bounding box and ground-truth bounding box. Calculating bounding box regression losses should take into account three important geometric measures, namely the overlap area, the distance, and the aspect ratio. Although GIoU (Generalized Intersection over Union) improves the calculation function of image overlap degree, it still can't represent the distance and aspect ratio of the graph well. As a result of technological progress, Bounding-Box is no longer represented by coordinates x,y,w and h of four positions. Therefore, the IoU can be further optimized with the center point and aspect ratio of Bounding-Box.

  • This study has been carried out to investigate into the properties of molding sands containing various core sands, $CO_2$, Shell, Furan, Pep Set and Cold Box, in the system sands using domestic active bentonite. The properties of system sands with 5% bentonite and 3% moistures containing baked core sands and no-baked core sands were varied by the ratio of core sands. The system sand containing no-baked core sands had been the poor bonding force and rough grain surface than those of the baked core sands. The L. O. I of system sand containing 30% organic binders core sands were more than inorganic binders core sands. It has been found that the no-baked core sands were necessary have to reclaim for using molding sand.

  • This paper describes a design of AES(Advanced Encryption Standard)-based CCMP core for IEEE 802.1li wireless LAN security. To maximize its performance, two AES cores ate used, one is for counter mode for data confidentiality and the other is for CBC(Cipher Block Chaining) mode for authentication and data integrity. The S-box that requires the largest hardware in AES core is implemented using composite field arithmetic, and the gate count is reduced by about $20\%$ compared with conventional LUT(Lookup Table)-based design. The CCMP core designed in Verilog-HDL has 13,360 gates, and the estimated throughput is about 168 Mbps at 54-MHz clock frequency. The functionality of the CCMP core is verified by Excalibur SoC implementation.

  • To solve two problems, temperature shock to the man and difficulty in exchanging the air in the glove box into N2 gas, during the subsampling of Suboxic and cold core sediments, a portable glove box with a refrigerating machine and a gas exchanging bag was constructed for subsampling of sediment cores on board. The refrigerator of the glove box can cool down 200 litter air at 30$^{\circ}C$ to 2$^{\circ}C$${\pm}$2$^{\circ}C$ within 5 minutes. The box was successfully operated during the second KORDI's deep sea research cruise of 1989 in the North equatorial Pacific. Pore water data obtained from the cruise show no evidence for artifacts caused by warming up or oxidation of sediments during subsampling.

  • The box system that is composed only of reinforced concrete walls and slabs are adopted on many high-rise apartment buildings recently constructed in Korea. And the framed structure with shear wall core that can effectively resist horizontal forces is frequently adopted for the structural system for high-rise building structures. In these structures, a shear wall may have one or more openings for functional reasons. It is necessary to use subdivided finite elements for accurate analysis of the shear wall with openings. But it would take tremendous amount of computational time and memory if the entire building structure is subdivided into a finer mesh . An efficient analysis method that can be used regardless of the number, size and location of openings is proposed in this study, The analysis method uses super element, substructure, matrix condensation technique and fictitious beam technique. Three-dimensional analyses of the box system and the framed structure with shear wall core having various types of openings were performed to verify the efficiency of the proposed method. It was confirmed that the proposed method have outstanding accuracy with drastically reduced time and computer memory from the analyses of example structures.

  • Cryogenic systems are requirement for the operation of HTS power cables. In general, HTS power cables require temperature below 77K, a temperature that can be achieved from the liquid nitrogen at latm or sub-cooled LN2 above latm. HTS power cable needs sufficient refrigeration to overcome its low temperature heat loading. This loading typically cones in two forms : (1) heat leaks from the surroundings and (2) internal heat generation. This paper explains the cooling test system of 10m HTS power cable. This system is composed of storage dewar, auto fill system, core cryostat and cold-box. Storage dewar is a LN2 storage tank and auto fill system is a LN2 supply device to the sub-cooler, Core cryostat is a LN2 flow line. Cold box is a control unit of temperature and flow rate. It is composed of control valve, flow meter, sub-cooler and circulation pump, etc..
