  • Tricyclopentadiene (TCPD) is one of the important precursors for making tetrahydrotricyclopentadiene, which is well known as a next-generation fuel with high energy density. In this study, TCPD was obtained by polymerization reaction of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) using an ionic liquid (IL) supported mesoporous silica catalysts. ILs were supported to two kinds of mesoporous silica catalysts with different pore sizes such as MCM-41 and SBA-15. Four different ILs were supported to mesoporous silicas using anionic precursors such as CuCl or $FeCl_3$ and cationic precursors such as triethylamine hydrochloride or 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride. We proved that IL supported mesoporous silicas showed better catalytic performance than those of using non-supported prestine IL in the aspect of TCPD yield and DCPD conversion. Among four kinds of IL supported mesoporous silica catalysts, CuCl-based IL supported MCM-41 system showed the highest TCPD yield.

  • In this study we synthesized mesoporous carbon supported CuO by using mesoporous silica i.e. SBA-15 as the template and cupric nitrate trihydrate ($Cu(NO_3)_23H_2O$)as copper source. The porous CuO was characterized with XRD, TGA, SEM and BET. The result reveals porous CuO has good crystal structure with uniform size of spherical crystal particles. The surface are a ($S_{BET}$) of porous CuO was found to be $153.46m^2g^{-1}$ with a total pore volume ($V_p$)of$0.1516cm^3g^{-1}$ and average pore size of 3.9 nm which was much higher than that of commercial CuO ($S_{BET}$, $7.6m^2g^{-1}$; $V_p$, $0.01cm^3g^{-1}$). The obtained porous CuO was studied for adsorption of $CO_2$and the maximum $CO_2$ adsorption capacity was found to be 67.5 mg/g of the sorbent at $25^{\circ}C$.

  • The importance of color is increasing in modern life and we call such present age that is 'color age'. These day that all areas of life are being getting fashionize, ordinary people as well as design specialist are required of culture and knowledge about color. Color design education is important curriculum at liberal arts course and in special design trainning course. Color expresses by hue, value and chroma in Munsell color system. But design spot is using mainly hue and tone color system. Therefore it is very important that educate tone concept in color design education. When think influence that increase of color, we must develop hue and tone color system in suitable for color design education. This research designed usable 'Hue and Tone 313 Colot System' for efficeint sensual color education. Also I designed 313 color papers with attached the Munsell notation which could reappear the spare color paper when needed. The 10 hues classification of this system are Red, Yellow Red, Yellow, Green Yellow, Green, Blue Green, Blue, Purple Blue, Purple, Red Purple. The 19 tones classification of this system are vivid, light, standard, deep, pale, soft, dull, dark, very pale, light grayish, medium grayish, dark grayish, very dark, off White, off Pale, off Light Gray, off Medium Gray, off Dark Gray, off Black. • The production of hydrogen via water electrolysis (i.e., green hydrogen) using renewable energy is key to the development of a sustainable society. However, most current electrocatalysts are based on expensive precious metals and require the use of highly purified water in the electrolyte. We demonstrated the preparation of a non-precious metal catalyst based on CuCo2O4 (CCO) via simple electrodeposition. Further, an optimization process for electrodeposition potential, solution concentration and electrodeposition method was develop for a catalyst-substrate integrated electrode, which indicated the highly electrocatalytic performance of the material in electrochemical tests and when applied to an anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer.

  • The rapid development of small-scale (1-10 MJ) Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage Systems (SMES) can be explained by real perspective of practical implementation of these devices in electro power nets. However the serious problem of all high mechanically stressed superconducting coils-problem of training and degradation (decreasing) of operating current still exists. Moreover for SMES systems this problems is more dangerous because of pulsed origin of mechanical stresses-one of the major sources of local heat disturbances in superconducting coils. We investigated acoustic emission (AE) phenomenon on model and 0.5 MJ SMES coils taking into account close correlation of AE and local heat disturbances. Two-coils 0.5 MJ SMES system was developed, manufactured and tested at Russian Research Center in the frames of cooperation with Korean Electrical Engineering Company (KEPCO) [1]. The two-coil SMES operates with the stored energy transmitted between coils in the course of a single cycle with 2 seconds energy transfer time. Maximum operating current 1.55 kA corresponds to 0.5 MF in each coil. The Nb-Ti-based conductor was designed and used for SMES manufacturing. It represents transposed cable made of Nb-Ti strands in copper matrix, several cooper strands and several stainless steel strands. The coils are wound onto fiberglass cylindrical bobbins. To make AE event information more useful a real time instrumentation system was used. Two main measured and computer processed AE parameters were considered: the energy of AE events (E) and the accumulated energy of AE events (E ). Influence of current value in 0.5 MJ coils on E and E was studied. The sensors were installed onto the bobbin and the external surface of magnets. Three levels of initial current were examined: 600A, 1000A, 2450 A. An extraordinary strong dependence of the current level on E and E was observed. The specific features of AE from model coils, operated in sinusoidal vibration current changing mode were investigated. Three current frequency modes were examined: 0.012 Hz, 0.03 Hz and 0.12 Hz. In all modes maximum amplitude 1200 A was realized.

  • This paper aims to complete the results obtained through various technical experiments in sculptures, not to derive the results through the existing design process. To this end, for the purpose of visually completing the accidental curve, an experiment was conducted to induce accidental curves using hitting on a metal craft, raising, and press techniques in which accidental curves can be obtained. As a result, the accidental curve was visually represented using red copper and brass through various compression methods using the press, which showed the best effect, and was completed with a candlestick. Through this, it was possible to obtain results through a technique-oriented modeling methodology rather than a design method that focuses on the meaning of form. I hope that the metal craft techniques will continue to be experimented with and that various researches using them will continue in the future.

  • Recently, there has been a growing interest in clean hydrogen energy that does not emit carbon dioxide during combustion due to the increasing focus on carbon neutral. Research related to hydrogen production continues, and in this study, we applied waste-derived synthesis gas to the water-gas shift reaction to simultaneously treat waste and produce high-purity hydrogen. To enhance catalytic activity in the high-temperature water-gas shift (HT-WGS) reaction, magnesium was used as a support material alongside cerium. Cu-CeO2-MgO catalysts were synthesized, with copper acting as the active component for the HT-WGS reaction. A study on the catalytic activity based on the preparation method was conducted, and the Cu-CeO2-MgO catalyst prepared by impregnation method exhibited the highest activity in the HT-WGS reaction. The observed superior performance of the Cu-CeO2-MgO catalyst prepared through the impregnation method can be attributed to its significantly higher oxygen storage capacity and amount of active Cu species.

  • Abu Gurdi area is located in the South-eastern Desert of Egypt which considered as volcanic massive sulfide deposits (VMS). The present work aims at investigating the ore mineralogy of Abu Gurdi region in addition to the effectiveness of the hydrometallurgical route for processing these ores using alkaline leaching for the extraction of Zn, Cu, and Pb in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, has been investigated. The factors affecting the efficiency of the alkaline leaching of the used ore including the reagent composition, reagent concentration, leaching temperature, leaching time, and Solid /Liquid ratio, have been investigated. It was noted that the sulfide mineralization consists mainly of chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite, galena and bornite. Gold is detected as rare, disseminated crystals within the gangue minerals. Under supergene conditions, secondary copper minerals (covellite, malachite, chrysocolla and atacamite) were formed. The maximum dissolution efficiencies of Cu, Zn, and Pb at the optimum leaching conditions i.e., 250 g/L NaCO3 - NaHCO3 alkali concentration, for 3 hr., at 250 ℃, and 1/5 Solid/liquid (S/L) ratio, were 99.48 %, 96.70 % and 99.11 %, respectively. An apparent activation energy for Zn, Cu and Pb dissolution were 21.599, 21.779 and 23.761 kJ.mol-1, respectively, which were between those of a typical diffusion-controlled process and a chemical reaction-controlled process. Hence, the diffusion of the solid product layer contributed more than the chemical reaction to control the rate of the leaching process. High pure Cu(OH)2, Pb(OH)2, and ZnCl2 were obtained from the finally obtained leach liquor at the optimum leaching conditions by precipitation at different pH. Finally, highly pure Au metal was separated from the mineralized massive sulfide via using adsorption method.

  • Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique has been used for the elemental composition of the soils. In this technique, a high energy laser pulse is focused on a sample to produce plasma. From the spectroscopic analysis of such plasma plume, we have determined the different elements present in the soil. This technique is effective and rapid for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of all type of samples. In this work a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser operating with its fundamental mode (1064 nm laser wavelength), 5 nanosecond pulse width, and 10 Hz repetition rate was focused on soil samples using 10 cm quartz lens. The emission spectra of soil consist of Iron (Fe), Calcium (Ca), Titanium (Ti), Silicon (Si), Aluminum (Al), Magnesium (Mg), Manganese (Mn), Potassium (K), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Mercury (Hg), Barium (Ba), Vanadium (V), Lead (Pb), Nitrogen (N), Scandium (Sc), Hydrogen (H), Strontium (Sr), and Lithium (Li) with different finger-prints of the transition lines. The maximum intensity of the transition lines was observed close to the surface of the sample and it was decreased along the axial direction of the plasma expansion due to the thermalization and the recombination process. We have also determined the plasma parameters such as electron temperature and the electron number density of the plasma using Boltzmann's plot method as well as the Stark broadening of the transition lines respectively. The electron temperature is estimated at 14611 °K, whereas the electron number density i.e. 4.1 × 1016 cm-3 lies close to the surface.
