Induced Resistance in Tomato Plants Against Fusarium Wilt Invoked by Nonpathogenic Fusarium, Chitosan and Bion

  • The potential of. nonpathogenic Fusarium oxysporum strain Avr5, either alone or in combination with chitosan and Bion, for inducing defense reaction in tomato plants inoculated with F. oxysporum f. sp lycopersici, was studied in vitro and glasshouse conditions. Application Bion at concentration of 5, 50, 100 and $500{\mu}g$/ml, and the highest concentration of chitosan reduced in vitro growth of the pathogen. Nonpathogenic F. oxysporum Avr5 reduced the disease severity of Fusarium wilt of tomato in split plants, significantly. Bion and chitosan applied on tomato seedlings at concentration $100{\mu}g$ a.i./plant; 15, 10 and 5 days before inoculation of pathogen. All treatments significantly reduced disease severity of Fusarium wilt of tomato relative to the infected control. The biggest disease reduction and increasing tomato growth belong to combination of nonpathogenic Fusarium and Bion. Growth rate of shoot and root markedly inhibited in tomato plants in response to tomato Fusarium wilt as compared with healthy control. These results suggest that reduction in disease incidence and promotion in growth parameters in tomato plants inoculated with nonpathogenic Fusarium and sprayed with elicitors could be related to the synergistic and cooperative effect between them, which lead to the induction and regulation of disease resistance. Combination of elicitors and non-pathogenic Fusarium synergistically inhibit the growth of pathogen and provide the first experimental support to the hypothesis that such synergy can contribute to enhanced fungal resistance in tomato. This chemical could provide a new approach for suppression of tomato Fusarium wilt, but its practical use needs further investigation.

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 기술 기반 WiMedia 무선 USB Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) 프로토콜의 공평하고 분산적인 SoQ기반 Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) 타임슬롯 자원 할당 방법의 성능을 분석하고, DRP 예약 충돌을 회피하기 위해 릴레이 통신 기술을 적용한 SoQ 릴레이 전송 프로토콜을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 SoQ 릴레이 전송 프로토콜은 Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) 알고리즘을 각 단말 디바이스에서 분산적으로 실행하고, 충돌대상 디바이스에게 예약된 QoS 자원을 유지할 수 있도록 Direct Link 뿐만 아니라 릴레이 노드를 경유하여 또 다른 Indirect Link 링크를 예약할 수 있는 자원 예약 프로토콜을 제안한다.

농촌지역 개발정책의 지방화 방향 (Localization of the Rural Development Policy)

  • Korean agriculture and rural sector has undergone a wide range of reform after the Uruguay Round. Major policy measure is to put finances of huge budget from tax payers since 1994 in preparation of the Rural Development Strategy and Reform Program. Both in the total amount and individual size of the subsidy and loan for eligible farmers and farmers group are large and drastically enormous than any other programs in the past. The strategy adopted was a bottom-up approach, Particularly in selecting the project with local autonomy. However, it has been still criticized as the form of centralized control of budget and decsion. In terms of the program effectiveness too, it is doubtful to judge that Korean agriculture is in a road to getting the international competetiveness as targeted. Since the local autonomy was started in 1995, the political structure has been settling in a way to be more locally institutionalized. Rural development policy, as the key point of economic and industrial dimension of local autonomy, should be initiated and practiced in real term by the local government. This paper, in this concern, in reviewing the past rural development prolicy and programs, discussed the necessary issues relevant to legal bases of land uses in Korea. Further, the direction of increasing local automous power of local government was discussed in the senses of budgetary control and decision. The power and budget should be allocated more to the rural development plans of local government in order to fulfilize integrated rural spatial development in this new era of globalization.

IR 센서와 영상정보를 이용한 다 개체 로봇의 장애물 회피 방법 (Obstacle Avoidance Method for Multi-Agent Robots Using IR Sensor and Image Information)

  • This paper presents obstacle avoidance method for scout robot or industrial robot in unknown environment by using IR sensor and vision system. In the proposed method, robots share the information where the obstacles are located in real-time, thus the robots can choose the best path for obstacle avoidance. Using IR sensor and vision system, multiple robots efficiently evade the obstacles by the proposed cooperation method. No landmark is used at wall or floor in experiment environment. The obstacles don't have specific color or shape. To get the information of the obstacle, vision system extracts the obstacle coordinate by using an image labeling method. The information obtained by IR sensor is about the obstacle range and the locomotion direction to decide the optimal path for avoiding obstacle. The experiment was conducted in $7m{\times}7m$ indoor environment with two-wheeled mobile robots. It is shown that multiple robots efficiently move along the optimal path in cooperation with each other in the space where obstacles are located.

  • 디지털 캐로절은 사용자들에게 미디어 동기화 메카니즘을 통하여 미디어 객체 공유를 가능하게 한다. 본 시스템은 공동 작업에 참여한 사용자들이 다른 참여자들에게 같은 뷰로써 공유된 미디어 또는 오류 객체들을 참조할 수 있도록 구축하였다. 본 논문은 EC_DCS의 설계와 구축을 설명한다. EC_DCS는 멀티미디어 협동 작업 환경에서 소프트웨어 오류를 감지, 공유, 복구하기에 적합한 시스템이다. 이 시스템에 의해서 오류를 공유할 수 있다. 멀티미디어 공동 작업 환경의 관점에서 오류 공유는 협동 작업에 참가하는 참가자에게 상호작용적으로 오류를 공유한다.

ENC-MAC: Energy-efficient Non-overlapping Channel MAC for Cognitive Radio enabled Sensor Networks

  • The concept of Internet of Things (IoT) has shed new light on WSN technologies. MAC protocol issues improving the network performance are important in WSNs because of the increase in demand for various applications to secure spectrum resources. Cognitive radio (CR) technology is regarded as a solution to the problems in this future wireless network. In recent years, energy efficiency has become an issue in CR networks. However, few relevant studies have been conducted. In this paper, an energy-efficient non-overlapping channel MAC (ENC-MAC) for CR-enabled sensor networks (CRSNs) is proposed. Applying the dedicated control channel approach, ENC-MAC allows the SUs to utilize channels in a non-overlapping manner, and thus spectrum efficiency is improved. Moreover, the cooperative spectrum sensing that allows an SU to use only two minislots in the sensing phase is addressed to en-hance energy efficiency. In addition, an analytical model for evaluating the performance, such as saturation throughput, average packet delay, and network lifetime, is developed. It is shown in our results that ENC-MAC remarkably outperforms existing MAC protocols.

  • Lane keeping assistant system (LKAS) could save thousands of lives each year by maintaining lane position and is regarded as a promising active safety system. The LKAS is expected to reduce the driver workload and to assist the driver during driving. This paper proposes a model based predictive controller for the LKAS which requires cooperative driving between the driver and the assistance system. A Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulator (HILS) is constructed for its evaluation and includes Carsim, Matlab Simulink and a lane detection algorithm. The single camera is mounted with the HILS to acquire the monitor images and to detect the lane markers. The simulation is conducted to validate the LKAS control performance in various road scenario.

  • Because the development of Korea's water resources will reach its limit in the near future, preparations should now be begun to deal with problems that may come as a result. It will be too late to start preparations when the water resources have already reach their limitation and, as the preparations cannot be done in a day, it will take a long time to provide them. Now is the great turning point to accumulate our technical experiences and attain our plans gradually. The preparations against this are summarized as follows; 1)The transitory use of water should be turn into the recurrent use for the future. 2)A cooperative water control system of an area should be arranged. 3)Water saving, control of water demand, and the multiple use of water should be encouraged. To do this effectively, people should be informed of the value and rarity of water. 4)The development of freshwater reserviors at estuaries is closely related to the development of water utilization in the whole river basin. The development of water resources by the construction of freshwater reservoirs at the estuaries should be started, when the development of upstream water resources reaches their limitation. 5)The existing water utilization structures should be reorganized by water resources exchange planning, so the effective use of water in large areas be attained.

  • Recently, researches about the eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrid electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle and electric vehicle have been actively carried out. The regenerative braking system is a key technology to improve the vehicle energy utilization efficiency because it transforms the kinetic energy to the electric energy through the electric motor. This new braking system requires cooperative control between electric controlled brake and regenerative brake. Therefore, it is necessary to establish fault-diagnosis and fail-safe evaluation criteria to secure reliability of the regenerative braking system. In this paper, the failure types and causes in regenerative braking system were analyzed. The transient behavior characteristics were examined based on fault-diagnosis and fail-safe upon failure of regenerative braking system.

  • 차세대지능형교통시스템(C-ITS)는 차량과 차량, 차량과 인프라 간의 양방향 통신으로 교통 정보를 공유하여 더욱 편리하고 안전하게 교통을 제어하는 시스템이다. C-ITS의 보안에 대한 준비가 제대로 갖춰지지 않을 경우 일시적인 교통 마비 및 대형 교통사고를 유발할 수 있고, 이에 따라 운전자의 생명에도 직접적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 C-ITS에서 발생할 수 있는 사이버 공격들을 시나리오를 통해 연구하여 그 예방 및 대응 방안을 제시한다.
