  • In this paper we propose a simple iterative method for finding a root of a nonlinear equation. It is shown that the new method, which does not require any derivatives, has a quadratic convergence order. In addition, one can find that a hybrid method combined with the non-iterative method can further improve the convergence rate. To show the efficiency of the presented method we give some numerical examples.

  • Let $X_1$, $X_2$,${\ldots}$, $X_n$ be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables with common distribution function $F$. Convergence rates for the moments of extremes are studied by virtue of second order regularly conditions. A unified treatment is also considered under second order von Mises conditions. Some examples are given to illustrate the results.

  • The present paper investigates the weighted $L^1$-convergence of Gr$\ddot{u}$nwald interpolatory operators based on the zeros of the second Chebyshev polynomials $U_n(x)=\frac{sin(n+1)\theta}{sin\theta}$. The approximation rate is sharp.

  • In this paper, we present novel high-speed transmission schemes for high-speed ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio-frequency identification communication. For high-speed communication, tags communicate with a reader using a high-speed Miller (HS-Miller) encoding and multiple antennas, and a reader communicates with tags using extended pulse-interval encoding (E-PIE). E-PIE can provide up to a two-fold faster data rate than conventional pulse-interval encoding. Using HS-Miller encoding and orthogonal multiplexing techniques, tags can achieve a two- to three-fold faster data rate than Miller encoding without degrading the demodulation performance at a reader. To verify the proposed transmission scheme, the MATLAB/Simulink model for high-speed backscatter based on an HS-Miller modulated subcarrier has been designed and simulated. The simulation results show that the proposed transmission scheme can achieve more than a 3 dB higher BER performance in comparison to a Miller modulated subcarrier.

  • For the almost co티am convergent series $S_n$ of independent random variables, by investigating the limiting behavior of the tail series, $T_n=S-S_{n-1}=\sum_{i=n}^{\infty}X_i$, the rate of convergence of the series $S_n$ to a random variable S is studied in this paper. More specifically, the equivalence between the tail series weak law of large numbers and a limit law is established for a quasi-monotone decreasing sequence, thereby extending a result of Previous work to the wider class of the norming constants.

  • In a MPC(Multi-Pulse Coding) using excitation source of voiced and unvoiced, it would be a distortion of voice waveform. This is caused by normalization of synthesis speech waveform of voiced in the process of restoration. To solve this problem, this paper present APC-MPC of amplitude-position compensation in a multi-pulses each pitch interval in order to reduce distortion of synthesis waveform. Also, I was implemented that the APC-MPC in coding system. And I evaluate the SNRseg of APC-MPC in 8kbps coding condition of convergence system. As a result, SNRseg of APC-MPC was 13.9dB for female voice and 14.3dB for male voice respectively. And so, I expect to be able to this method for cellular phone and smart phone using excitation source of low bit rate.

  • Underwater images carry information that is useful in the fields of aquaculture, underwater military security, navigation, transportation, and so on. In this research, we transmitted an underwater image through various underwater mediums in the presence of underwater turbulence and beam attenuation effects using a high-speed visible optical carrier signal. The optical beam undergoes scintillation because of the turbulence and attenuation effects; therefore, distorted images were observed at the receiver end. To understand the behavior of the communication media, we obtained the bit error rate (BER) performance of the system with respect to the average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Also, the structural similarity index (SSI) and peak SNR (PSNR) metrics of the received image were evaluated. Based on the received images, we employed suitable nonlinear filters to recover the distorted images and enhance them further. The BER, SSI, and PSNR metrics of the specific nonlinear filters were also evaluated and compared with the unfiltered metrics. These metrics were evaluated using the on-off keying and binary phase-shift keying modulation techniques for the 50-m and 100-m links for beam attenuation resulting from pure seawater, clear ocean water, and coastal ocean water mediums.

  • A real-time frame-layer rate control algorithm with a token bucket traffic shaper is proposed for distortion variation minimization. The proposed rate control method uses a non-iterative optimization method for low computational complexity, and performs bit allocation at the frame level to minimize the average distortion over an entire sequence as well as variations in distortion between frames. The proposed algorithm does not produce time delay from encoding, and is suitable for real-time low-complexity video encoder. Experimental results indicate that the proposed control method provides better visual and PSNR performances than the existing rate control method.

  • It is shown that the rate of wear can be related to on 'index of wear intensity'. Since both upper and lower specimens have used the same hardness values, equivalent hardness of 'index of wear intensity' used the mean hardness value of specimens. This index is derived from the external variables of load, sliding speed and the hardness of the sliding pairs. The wear behavior as the hardness of the sliding elements on the dry wear has been investigated using a disc on disc configuration. The materials of the specimens are used as ten kinds along their hardness. Using experimental data, we figured the relationship between wea rate and index of wear intensity. The result had been derived a newly wear equation in disc on disc wear system.
