Furthermore, this study provides basic data on core competencies for convergence needed by them. Research design, data, and methodology - A survey was conducted on 104 distribution company salespeople who worked near Seoul, Korea to analyze the perceptions of their educational needs in core competencies for convergence education, according to their socio-demographic characteristics. The socio-demographic characteristics were gender, age, workplace size, education background, work experience and business category. The questionnaire consisted of demographic factors (7 questions), general perception of convergence education (5 questions), perception of importance of core competency for distribution company salespeople (9 questions), and current perception of distribution company salespeople on core competency of convergence workers (9 questions). Park et al.(2014)'s categorization of convergence core competencies was used: Cognitive convergence (creative thinking, critical thinking and understanding of convergence knowledge), convergence performance (problem solving, communications, collaboration and application of convergence tools) and attitude toward convergence (empathy and responsibility). Data was collected through an independent sample of t-tests and a one-way analysis of variance and the Borich Needs Assessment Model was used to identify the educational needs of distribution company salespeople in the core competencies of convergence education. Results- The results show that the subjects recognized the need for convergence education to be high among the general perceptions. The perception scores for workers of different backgrounds only varied according to the size of the business. Moreover, the results of the educational needs analysis and the ranks of the required core competencies of convergence workers by the subjects were as follows: 1. convergence knowledge understanding competency, 2. creative thinking competency, 3. convergence tool application competency, 3. communications competency, 4. problem solving competency, 5. collaboration competency, 6. critical thinking competency, 7. empathy competency, 8. responsibility competency. Conclusions - This study highlights the necessity of developing university curriculum that can nurture the core competencies of conversion education reflecting distribution company salespeople's requests as well as cultivating qualified convergence workers required by distribution company workers.

  • After the fourth industrial revolution came along, SW education to improve creativity and problem-solving ability began in elementary, middle, and high schools first and then in universities as well positively; however, research on the curriculum or what it has to pursue is not yet enough. Here, this study will investigate the current status of SW education provided in software-oriented schools operated in universities and also given as cultural studies in general universities and examines the curriculum or the standard plan for education. In most schools, it is operated as similar subject names, and diverse methods are tried on- and off-line to cultivate computing thinking skills. Also, to study SW education programs that can be operated in the general cultural courses of universities and find out how to utilize them, this author suggests the goal setting, educational contents, and teaching methods for SW education. As follow-up tasks, it will be needed to apply the suggested programs to the field and find out new evaluation methods in order to cultivate creative and convergent persons of ability.

  • We performed to explore the applicability of protocol to improve the curriculum literacy for special education pre-teachers. For this, protocol of Park et al (2018), which can be used in the educational field, was partially modified and applied to enhance the special education curriculum expertise of pre-teachers. The literacy protocol of the special education curriculum was applied as Protocols 1 and 2, and Protocol 1 was focused on adaptation the 2015 special education curriculum and understanding literacy. Protocol 2 consisted of reorganizing the subject level centering on the five subjects presented in the special education curriculum, and establishing an integrated theme setting and reorganization plan. We applied the research design during a total of 15 weeks of special education curriculum subjects. The class format was flipped learning (e.g, pre-video lectures, theory lectures (E-Sheets), and learner-led activities (W-Sheets) for each topic was carried out. We found that pre-teachers' thought that the academic achievement and satisfaction of students with disabilities could be increased by adaptation the curriculum. Pre-teachers reported that the experience of reorganizing each subject/intersection helped improve their literacy but found it difficult.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore educational methods for elementary, middle and high schools using school forests via IT convergence. To this aim, we reviewed the previous literature on education using school forests to identify the problems with the existing education using school forests, and conducted interviews with experts to analyze the demands. we proposed an educational method that can utilize the school forests via IT convergence, and explored its validity through content reviews conducted by experts. The findings of this study are as follows. First, we proposed the IT convergence instruction focused on hands-on activities on top of the existing educational contents. Second, we proposed IT convergence instruction that incorporates diverse materials, physical computing tools, and programming tools. Third, we presented methods for utilizing such IT convergence instruction in connection with various elements of the 2015 Revised Curriculum as well as with various other activities such as middle school free semester activities and after-school activities. The school forest is a crucial learning space for the areas related to agriculture and biotechnology. Thus, we anticipate that the IT convergence instruction proposed in this study will lead to the re-discovery and re-evaluation of a value of school forests as an educational space that contributes to fulfilling the objective of the 2015 Revised Curriculum to nurture creative convergent talent.

Recently, universities are pursuing diversification of their bachelor's system. With the introduction of various majors (linkage major, convergence major, autonomic major, and self-design major), efforts are being made to nurture convergence talent based on mutual linkages between major and departments. This study introduces the design and operation process of 'Global Creative Convergence Major' which the four universities of Chungcheong region promoted as a union. In particular, it derives the key elements of each step and presents the operating model and implications based on the main features. Convergence major operation model constitutes educational system (talent award, educational goal, competency factor, curriculum) through linkage between specialization areas of universities. The competency elements contain creative competence, convergence competency, problem solving competency, and global competency.

  • In this study, in order to analyze the AI convergence education courses of 38 graduate schools of education, the analysis frame was constructed in terms of basic subject classification, content field of subject, and detailed subject composition by field. And as a result of analysis through this frame, it was found that the number of subjects currently operated by these graduate schools of education is very different from 14 subjects to 48 subjects. Therefore, it was judged that it was urgent to develop a standard curriculum for the AI convergence education major operated by each graduate school of education for the same purpose. The AI Convergence Education Major, which was established for the same purpose and operated in different forms, will eventually produce teachers with different competencies, so there is a risk of bringing confusion to the direction of AI Convergence Education in the school field.
