Estimation of the Exploitable Carrying Capacity in the Korean Water of the East China Sea (한국 남해의 어획대상 환경수용량 추정 연구)

  • In the estimation of the exploitable carrying capacity (ECC) in the Korean water of the East China Sea, two approaches, which are the ecosystem modeling method (EMM) and the holistic production method (HPM), were applied. The EMM is accomplished by Ecopath with Ecosim model using a number of ecological data and fishery catch for each species group, which was categorized by a self-organizing mapping (SOM) based on eight biological characteristics of species. In this method, the converged value during the Ecosim simulation by setting the instantaneous rate of fishing mortality (F) as zero was estimated as the ECC of each group. The HPM is to use surplus production models for estimateing ECC. The ECC estimates were 4.6 and 5.1 million mt (mmt) from EMM and HPM, respectiverly. The estimate from the EMM has a considerable uncertainty due to the lack of confidence in input ecological parameters, especially production/biomass ratio (P/B) and consumption/biomass ratio (Q/B). However, ECC from the HPM was estimated on the basis of relatively fewer assumptions and long time-series fishery data as input, so the estimate from the HPM is regarded as more reasonable estimate of ECC, although the ECC estimate could be considerd as a preliminary one. The quality of input data should be improved for the future study of the ECC to obtain more reliable estimate.

Converged Study on the Validity and Reliability of the Communication Behavioral Scale of nurses caring for people with dementia (치매대상자를 돌보는 간호사의 의사소통행위 측정도구의 타당도 및 신뢰도 융합 연구)

  • The aims of this study was to verify the validity using group comparison method and test/retest reliability of the Communication Behavior Scale for Nurses Caring for People with Dementia(CBS-D). The subjects were nurses who have worked at elderly care facilities in D, U and Y cities(n = 67), and nurses who have worked at general hospitals in D and U cities. The scores of the communication behaviors of nurses working in elderly care facilities were significantly higher than those of nurses working in general hospitals(t=2.49, p=.014). The Intraclass Correlation Coefficients for the test-retest reliability test was .813. Therefore, it was confirmed that CBS-D is an appropriate evaluation tool for evaluating the level of the nurse's communication behavior through various logical analyzes, and it is expected that it can be used in various ways for nursing care for people with dementia.

  • The present study aims at investigating conflict-raising factors generable for or during a familial travel in our country, with an outlook that understanding of such conflict raisers in an analytic manner be utilized as the basic data for research on travel behaviors. More specifically, key focus in this study was made on the aspect of tourism science, to wit, how sort of conflict inducers existent between a decision maker of a family and its constituents during outdoor travel of that family vary with familial life-cycle in terms of the tourist behavior theory. Such research attempts are likely, firstly, to offer some clues to invigorate inter-communicability among familial stakeholders in determining the travel intention. Secondly, such attempts also expectedly provide better trustability among family members affordable from converged opinions by familial stakeholders. Thirdly, the predictive recognition of factors inducing familial conflicts in a detailed manner is deemed to lead to reduced trial and error in determining decisions among family members.

Effects of Chitosan on Wound Healing in Pigs (돼지에서 창상치유에 대한 키토산의 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of implanted chitosan applied to surgically created wound in pigs. Six healthy $2{\sim}3$ months old Landrace and Yorkshire mixed breeds of both genders were used. A 2 cm straight skin incision was made and undermined skin ($2{\times}2cm$) over on the each pig's both sides of dorsal midline at 0, 7. 14 and 18 days. One wound (left side) was implanted 0.4 mg of cotton type chitosan and other wound was treated saline (3 ml). Each wound was closed with two interrupted suture of 2-0 sutures. The wounds created at 18, 14.7 and 0 days were named post-wounding day (PWD) 3, 7, 14 and 21, respectively. At 21 days after initial wounding, each wound was taken for histological observations. Reepithelialization tended to be greater in the chitosan group than in the control group at PWD 3 and 14. Granulation tissue formation did not show especial differences in two groups. Number of inflammatory cells was lesser statistically in level in the chitosan group than those in the control group at 21 days after wounding (p<0.05). Fibroblasts and neovasculature tended to be greater in the chitosan group than in the control group at PWD 3 and 7, and tended to be lesser in the chitosan group than in the control group at PWD 14 and 21. Collagen and fibrin were observed to be evenly distributed around the wound in the chitosan group. But collagen and fibrin were observed to be converged along the wound in the control group.

  • A computer-controlled automatic vibratory tillage test equipment which attained minimum draft and power was developed. Three control program modes were developed and tested with this equipment. A computer simulation investigated the control performances of the above modes with the following primary results. 1) All of the three control modes converged to the same steady state when the velocity ratio was kept constant. 2) The control mode in which the blade frequency was twice of the soil shearing frequency (frequency control mode) showed optimum control with minimum draft and power, and also had greatest velocity convergence. 3) Results of the simulations showed the frequency control mode to have achieved the best control performance. The fluctuation of the draft reduction was less than 10% at various cutting depths and soil moistures.

  • In accordance with the advent of the 5th generation (5G) communication technology, we are having a change in various communication services which converge with high technologies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution. To utilize the upcoming 5G technology effectively and practically, we analyzed the technologies which have the most potential in convergence under the introduction of 5G technology and as a result, it is a autonomous vehicle that we'll discuss the core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, which can lead to service activation by being combined with 5G technology. In addition, we developed an industry-service classification of 5G-based autonomous vehicle, we provided a basis for supporting a new business and its new business model converged with 5G communication technology. Furthermore, we will create a linkage matrix with the industry-service classification system of a new autonomous vehicles. This matrix will service as a guideline for industry-service development where autonomous vehicles can be utilized actively in the next generation.

Analysis on personality education element of discussion activity in the Nuri-curriculum guidebook (누리과정 지도서에 제시된 이야기나누기 활동의 인성교육 요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the application of personality education elements through discussion activities in the Nuri curriculum guidebook. For this, discussion activities were analyzed according to both frequency of age and life theme. Study results were as follows. First, according to the distribution related to the target age of students, the greatest number of personality education elements were for 5 year olds, followed by those for 4 year olds and 3 year olds. Specifically, 'consideration', 'respect', 'cooperation' showed a high distribution, whereas 'filial piety' and 'sharing' showed a very low distribution. Second, according to the distribution based on life theme, it appeared that personality education element converged on particular life theme. These results are intended to provide basic data for the future direction of personality education elements through discussion activities in the Nuri curriculum guidebook.

Study on the development of convergence subjects for departments of emergency medical technology in preparation for the fourth industry revolution (4차 산업혁명 시대 응급구조(학)과 융복합 교과목 개발을 위한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the development and improvement direction of university education according to job type and investigate the types of knowledge required for employment after graduation for departments of emergency medical technology in preparation for the era of the fourth industrial revolution in a converged society. Methods: From June 3 to June 10, 2019, data were collected through structured questionnaires from 90 paramedics working in firefighting, hospitals, different industries, and emergency patient transportation. Data were analyzed using the software SPSS version 18.0. Results: For employment after graduation in departments of emergency medical technology, character and sincerity education should be strengthened. To prepare for the fourth industrial revolution, educational innovations such as improving the field practice system and devising a convergence curriculum are needed. Preparation for the fourth industrial revolution should be accomplished through the development of convergence subjects such as forensic science, information and communications technology, and safety engineering. Ninety percent of the study respondents indicated their need for convergence subjects. Conclusion: The demands of future society should be responded to flexibly by holding and conducting convergence subjects. Furthermore, preparations should be made in anticipation of a shortage of 120,000 college freshmen for the 2024-2025 school year by increasing the competitiveness of departments of emergency medical technology.

When calamities break out, the damage will be aggravated for they lead to another ones. Since megacities are the center of politics, economics and culture of a nation. so when complex disaster break out in megacities, this may be developed to a peril to the national security. Therefore, pan-government effort must be concentrated in preparing abilities to forecast, react, rapid response and resilience.

  • To realize the healthy life of human, mental, physical, and environmental factors must be managed continuously and stably. In order to manage human health, the 21st century healthcare field is essential ongoing interactions and convergence with ICT technologies. Such demands have created a convergence of technologies (fusion technology) in combination with the heterogeneous technologies. And, with the convergence of medical technology and ICT technologies, the development of personalized therapy environments is created. Advances in ICT-converged healthcare services are progressing due to the development of diverse wearable devices. Such ICT fusion system is exponentially increasing the complexity of the ICT convergence healthcare system and is resulting in various technical, institutional, environmental, and cultural issues. This study explores the status of developments in ICT healthcare technologies from the past to date, identifies major technology and policy issues to address these challenges. Finally it will recommend healthcare policies and a future road-map.
