  • A numerical process to simulate SiO2 dry etching with inductively coupled C2F6 plasmas has been constructed using a commercial CFD code as a first step to design a run-to-run control system. The simulator was tuned to reasonably predict the reactive ion etching behavior and used to investigate the effects of plasma operating variables on the etch rate and uniformity. The relationship between the operating variables and the etching characteristics was mathematically modeled through linear regression for future run-to-run control system design.

  • In this paper, we present neural network for control of Left Ventricular Assist Device(LVAD) system with a pneumatically driven mock circulation system. Beat rate(BR), Systole-Diastole Rate(SDR) and flow rate are collected as the main variables of the LVAD system. System modeling is completed using the neural network with input variables(BR, SBR, their derivatives, actual flow) and output variable(actual flow). It is necessary to apply high perfomance control techniques, since the LVAD system represent nonlinear and time-varing characteristics. Fortunately. the neural network can be applied to control of a nonlinear dynamic system by learning capability In this study, we identify the LVAD system with neural network and control the LVAD system by PID controller and neural network feedforward controller. The ability and effectiveness of controlling the LVAD system using the proposed algorithm will be demonstrated by experiment.

공기압 실린더의 궤적 추적 제어를 위한 직접 적응제어 (Direct Adaptive Control for Trajectory Tracking Control of a Pneumatic Cylinder)

  • This study presents a direct adaptive controller which is derived by using Lyapunovs direct methods for trajectory tracking control of a pneumatic cylinder. The structure of the controller is very simple and computationally efficient because it does not use either the dynamic model or the parameter values of the pneumatic system. The bounded stability of the system is shown in the presence of the bounded unmodeled dynamics. The bounded size of tracking errors can be made arbitrarily small without giving andy influences on either input or output variables. The trajectory tracking performance and the stability of the control system is verified experimentally. The results of the experiments show that the proposed controller tracks the given trajectories, sine function and cycloidal function trajectories, more accurately than PD controller does, and it stabilizes the system and adaptive variables.

  • Previous studies on user training have largely focused on assessing models which describe the determinants of information technology usage or examined theeffects of training, on user satisfaction, productivity, performance and so on. Scant research efforts have been made, however, to examine those effects of training by using theoretical models. This study presented a conceptural model to predict intention to use information technology and conducted an experimentto understand how training for computer skill acquisition affects primary variables of the model. The data were obtained from 32 student subjects of an experimental group and 31 students of a control group, and the information technology employed for this study was a university's electronic mail system. The study results revealed that attitude toward usage and perceived behavioral control helped to predict user intentions ; outcome expectations were positively related to attitude toward usage ; and self-efficacy was positively related to perceived behavioral control. Thd hands-on training for the experimental group led to increases in perceived ease of use, self-efficacy and perceived behaviroal control. The changes in those variables suggest more causal effects of user training than other survey studies.

Multivariate Shewhart control charts for monitoring the variance-covariance matrix

  • Multivariate Shewhart control charts are considered for the simultaneous monitoring the variance-covariance matrix when the joint distribution of process variables is multivariate normal. The performances of the multivariate Shewhart control charts based on control statistic proposed by Hotelling (1947) are evaluated in term of average run length (ARL) for 2 or 4 correlated variables, 2 or 4 samples at each sampling point. The performance is investigated in three cases, that is, the variances, covariances, and variances and covariances are changed respectively.

  • As the features of recent flood are spatially concentrated, loss of life and property increase by the impact of climate change. In addition to this the public interest in water control information is increased and socially reasonable justification of water control policy is needed. It is necessary to estimate the flood risk in order to let people know the status of flood control and establish flood control policy. For accurate flood risk analysis, we should consider inter-relation between causal factors of flood damage. Hence, flood risk analysis should be applied to interdependence of the factors selected. The Bayesian networks are ideally suited to assist decision-making in situations where there is uncertainty in the data and where the variables are highly interlinked. In this research, to provide more proper water control information the flood risk analysis is performed using the Bayesian networks to handle uncertainty and dependency among 13 specific proxy variables.

팬데믹 상황에서 간호대학생의 윤리인식, 윤리적 의사결정 및 감염관리지침 수행태도가 감염관리지침 수행의도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nursing Students' Ethical Awareness, Ethical Decision-making and Attitude toward Performance on Intention about Performance of Infection Control Guidelines in Pandemic Infectious Diseases)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of nursing students' ethical awareness, ethical decision-making and attitude toward performance on intention about performance of infection control guidelines in pandemic infectious diseases. Methods: The survey was performed on 163 nursing students in three universities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaires and analyzed with t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: Perceived health status, ethical awareness and attitude toward performance of infection control guidelines about major commitment were significant predictive variables. These variables accounted for 48.1% of the variance in major commitment. Conclusion: The findings indicate the necessity of developing educational programs to enhance nursing students's ethical awareness, and increase performance of control guidelines to prepare for the pandemic infectious diseases.

  • 비호흡 장애 아동에서 인두편도의 절제가 치조안면골격에 미치는 영향을 연구하기 위해 비호흡 장애 아동 24명의 인두편도 절제전과 절제 1년후의 두부방사선 계측사진과 정상교합 아동의 1년전과 후의 두부방사선 계측사진을 비교분석함으로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Cranial base variables 두 group간에 유의차가 나타나지 않았다. 2. Craniofacial variables 실험군에서 1년간 성장경향을 보면 Brachyfacial pattern으로 변했지만 대조군에서의 변화는 특정한 경향이 발견되지 않았다. 3. Maxillary variables 실험군에서 1년간 palatal plane의 경사가 평탄해졌고 그 외의 항목에서는 유의차가 발견되지 않았다. 4. Mandibular variables 두 group간에 1년간 성장량의 유의치는 mandibular plane angle과 gonial angle에서 나타났고 특히 실험군에서 감소가 일어났다. 5. Facial height variables 실험군에서 1년간 성장 변화가 하악골의 수평성장회전을 일으켰다. 전항목에서 통계적인 유의차를 나타냈다.

  • In this paper, it is presented a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using digital Signal Processors. Digital signal processors DSPs. are micro-processors that are particularly developed for variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a biable computatinal tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Unlike the well-established theory for the adaptive control of linear systems, there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Adaptive control technique is essential for providing a stable and robust performance for application of robot control. The proposed neuro control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method. The proposed adaptive-neuro control scheme is illustrated to be a efficient control scheme for implementation of real-time control of robot system by the simulation and experiment.

Defending Non-control-data Attacks using Influence Domain Monitoring

  • As an increasing number of defense methods against control-data attacks are deployed in practice, control-data attacks have become challenging, and non-control-data attacks are on the rise. However, defense methods against non-control-data attacks are still deficient even though these attacks can produce damage as significant as that of control-data attacks. We present a method to defend against non-control-data attacks using influence domain monitoring (IDM). A definition of the data influence domain is first proposed to describe the characteristics of a variable during its life cycle. IDM extracts security-critical non-control data from the target program and then instruments the target for monitoring these variables' influence domains to ensure that corrupted variables will not be used as the attackers intend. Therefore, attackers may be able to modify the value of one security-critical variable by exploiting certain memory corruption vulnerabilities, but they will be prevented from using the variable for nefarious purposes. We evaluate a prototype implementation of IDM and use the experimental results to show that this method can defend against most known non-control-data attacks while imposing a moderate amount of performance overhead.
