  • A magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) system is under commercialization as a new transportation system in Korea. The Maglev is operated by an unmanned automatic control system. Therefore, the plan of train operation should be carefully established and validated in advance. In general, when making a train operation plan, statistically predicted traffic data is used. However, a traffic wave often occurs in real train service, and demand-driven simulation technology is required to review a train operation plan and service quality considering traffic waves. We propose a method and model to simulate Maglev operation considering continuous demand changes. For this purpose, we employed a discrete event model that is suitable for modeling the behavior of railway passenger transportation. We modeled the system hierarchically using discrete event system specification (DEVS) formalism. In addition, through implementation and an experiment using the DEVSim++ simulation environment, we tested the feasibility of the proposed model. Our experimental results also verified that our demand-driven simulation technology can be used for a priori review of train operation plans and strategies.

  • In order to survive in today's world of intense market competition, one of the major goals in the manufacture industry is to supply new products in an optimal time frame. To achieve this goal, there is an essential need to shorten delivery time through higher productivity, less trial and error in the designing process, and increase in efficiency in designing new products. For these purposes, AutoCAD is generally used; however, there are two basic limitations. First, AutoCAD requires individual designing for each product, and two, the program does not grant statistical results. The aim of this paper is to present both design and development of Automatic Specification Generation System(ASGS) for metal products. ASGS isan applied designing system that reproduces drawing ...

  • The automation system oriented as one of the second year automation projects for the small and medium sized enterprises(SME) was developed for the improvement of the production rate and cut the required manpower in the field of the relay which is one of the small electric components used in various industrial fields. The objectives of this study are not only improving the international competition of the relay itself but also partially solving the technical and financial porblems featured by common bottlenecks of the SME for effecient assembly automation. For the purpose of these objectives, several topics are studied as followings. -. Analyzing the adjustment process and determining the specification of the automation system. -. Determining the layout for the automation system to meet the determined specification. -. Detail design ofthe automation system for relay adjusment and inspection. -. Control system design. -. Automation system development and performance test.

  • Due to the increasing amount of electronic control system in a vehicle, the automotive software is increasingly sophisticated and complicated. Therefore it may be faced a time critical problem caused by its complexity. In order to solve such problems, the automotive electronic system can use a real-time scheduling mechanism based on predictability. We first consider the standard specification of the AUTOSAR OS and uC/OS-II such as its scheduling theory with time determinism. In this paper, we propose the scheduling algorithm to be conformable to a conformance class of OSEK/VDX specification. Algorithm analysis shows that our scheduling algorithm outperforms an existing Trampoline OS by intuition.

  • The conventional output filter design methods of a voltage source inverter includes two main problems: the performance is not sure to satisfy the specification under the nonlinear load; the designed filter must be occasionally modified when the controller is designed. In this paper, we analyze the relation between both linear and nonlinear loads, the output voltage magnitude, LC lowpass filter parameters, and the control response time. Upon the basis, both filter and controller are simultaneously designed for the performance to satisfy the specification under the nonlinear load as well as linear load. The proposed method sharply enhances the reliability of the performance. P.U is used for the method to be applied to all the quantities of the system. The simulation and the experiment of the proposed method carried out respectively to verify the validity.

  • This paper describes a modeling of service composition manager based on TINA (Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture). The Service composition function is mainly motivated by the desire to easily generate new service using existing services from retailers or $3^{rd}$-party service providers. The TINA-C specification for the service composition does not include the detailed composition procedure and its object models. In this paper, we propose a model of components for the service composition, which adapts a static composition feature in a single provider domain. To validate the proposed modeling, we implemented prototype service composition function, which combines two multimedia services; a VOD service and a VCS service. As a result, we obtain the specification of the detailed composition architecture between a retailer domain and a $3^{rd}$-party service provider domain.

  • Fieldbus provides real-time data communication among field devices in the manufacturing automation and process control systems. In this study, an experimental model of fieldbus-based manufacturing automation system is developed. Experimental model consists of two robots, two conveyor belts, NC machine, PLC, sensors and operator station. These machines are interconnected into the Profibus network, and exchange their data through the services provided by FMS(Fieldbus Message Specification), which is the application layer protocol of Profibus. The experimental model is used to measure the network-induced delay of variable and file data transmitted through FMS services. Network-induced delays are collected and analyzed on each sublayer of Profibus protocol stack. The results obtained from the experiment of this study can be effectively utilized when fieldbus is implemented on the practical manufacturing automation systems.

First, we analyzed various requirements of smart training systems for quality of life. We also analyzed the oversea trends and positive effects of the embedded system in terms of both technical and economical factors. Second, we proposed detailed design specification for embedded hardware implementation. Third, we developed effective OS(Operating System) specification for the embedded hardware. Finally, we developed a training scenario and embedded applications such as training control software and analysis software for the smart training systems.

  • Recently, OSC (off-site construction) construction has been revitalized as a response to the decline in building quality and productivity due to lack of skilled manpower at construction sites, and PC (precast concrete) construction, a representative OSC construction, is insufficiently applied to public housing. This is the situation. In addition, in the case of general contents appearing in standard specifications, the construction standards for quality assurance remain in the 1990s and do not correspond to the current construction environment. In order to improve the quality of PC member joints, we compared and analyzed Korean and Japanese specifications to establish appropriate standards for PC construction quality control, focusing on the quality of grout used in joints.

  • A Train control system is intended to assure train operation safety and to improve train operation efficiency. To perform these missions, the Train Control System consists of train safety space control part, train route control part and train operation management part. Train control technology changed from track circuit based to wireless based. And Wireless based train control technologies were developed by some railway signaling companies in Korea. To commercialize these control technologies, the development project is carried now. This project did analyze system requirements, and made the system development specification. Now this project finished system functions allocation, which will be performed by some subsystem. This paper describes roles of each function and the allocation of these functions to each subsystem.
