QSAR Studies on 6-Nitroquipazine Analogues as Serotonin Transporter

  • 3D-QSAR model that correlates the biological activities with the chemical structures of quipazine derivatives acting on the serotonine transporter (SERT) was developed by comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA). Total 8 models were constructed and a more accurate model, using close 1 $\AA$ grid spacing and StDev*Coefficients weight value gave better results. The contour maps with the best model, the resulting cross-validated correlation ($q^2$ : 0.744), and non-cross-validated correlation ($r^2$ : 0.966) indicate the steric and electrostatic environment of inhibitors in the SERT binding pocket. This study can be used as a putative picture of the pharmacophore in the design of novel and potent inhibitors.

  • A description of the basic principles of moire interferometry leads to the design of a eight-mirror four-beam interferometer for obtaining fringe patterns representing contour-maps of in-Plane displacements. The technique is implemented by the optical system using an environmental chamber for submicro-displacement mesurement. In order to estimate the reliability and applicabili쇼 of the system developed, the measurement of coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) for a aluminium block is performed. Consequently, the system is applied to the measurement of thermal deformation of a WB-PBGA package assembly. Temperature dependent analyses of global and local deformations are presented to study the effect of the mismatch of CTE between materials composed of the package assemblies. Bending displacements of the packages and average strains of solder balls are documented. Thermal induced displacements calculated by FEM agree quantitatively with experimental results.

CFD Study Analysis on the Steam Ejector with Varying Turbulence models

  • CFD analysis has been carried out in this paper. The purpose is to reveal the understanding of flow phenomena inside the ejector on the performance of steam ejector using three well known turbulence models. In this study, the ejector design was modeled using finite area CFD techniques to resolve the flow dynamics in the ejectors. Furthermore, from this study it can be concluded that by employed vary of turbulence models there are different results in pressure distribution, in contour of Mach number and in Entrainment ratio inside the steam ejector.

자전거 안장의 연체압 분포와 주관적 안락도의 상관성에 관한 연구 (Correlation between the subjective comfort and elastic body pressure distribution on a bicycle saddel)

  • In bicycle design, saddle is the major part which effects the subjective comfort of rider. This study examines the correlation between the subjective comfort and elastic body pressure. The elastic body pressure measuring instrument for free-form surface such as saddle is developed by force sensor register, A/D converter and computer. The subjective comfort is measured quantit- atively by 11-point scale method and the elastic body pressure distribution is obtained through 3 different saddles at 4 postures. The pressure distribution is presented by computerized equi- pressure contour. While mean pressure, standard deviation of pressure, maximum pressure are inversely proportional to subjective comfort, the modified saddle-bearing weight which is the surface integral of pressure is directly proportional. Consequently, standard deviation of pressure is most important characteristic which affects variation of subjective comfort.

  • Understanding of 'spatial' pressure distribution is required to determine design loads on local structures, such as plating and framing. However, obtaining a practical 'spatial' pressure distribution is a hard task due to the sensitivity of the data acquisition frequency and resolution. High-resolution Pessure-Idicating Flm (PIF) was applied to obtain pressure distribution and pressure magnitude using stepped crushing method. Different types of PIF were stacked at each test to creating a pressure distribution plot at specific time steps. Two different concepts of plotting 'spatial' pressure-area curve was introduced and evaluated. Diverse unit pixel size was chosen to investigate the effect of the resolution in data analysis. Activated area was not significantly affected by unit pixel size; however, total force was highly sensitive.

  • Electro-pneumatic valves are an electro-mechanical device which convert electric signal into pneumatic flow rate or pressure signal. Recently, the development tendency of electro-pneumatic valve is to make the valve with more compact and less electric power consumption style. To make the valve such as a style, the role of solenoid part is very important. This paper is used in the finite-element method for the purpose of evaluating the magnetic property of solenoid and analyze flux distribution of solenoid theoretically. From flux contour line which is obtained by numerical analysis, it verified that the plunger shape and physical property of solenoid part have influence on saturation phenomenon and leakage of magnetic fluxs. This paper made an experiment on the measurement of dynamic response time and force in order to confirm the propety of analytic result, and confirmed a good agreement between analysis results and experiment results.

  • This study describes how a properly calibrated simulation method could be used to investigate the latchup immunity characteristics among the various high energy ion implanted CMOS twin well (retro-grade/BILLI/BL) structures. To obtain the accurate quantitative simulation analysis of retrograde well, a global tuning procedure and a set of grid specifications for simulation accuracy and computational efficiency are carried out. The latchup characteristics of BILLI and BL structures are well predicted by applying a calibrated simulation method for retrograde well. By exploring the potential contour, current flow lines, and electron/hole current densities at the holding condition, we have observed that the holding voltage of BL structure is more sensitive to the well design rule (p+to well edge space /n +to well edge space) than to the retrograde well itself.

유사등방성과 이방성 이종재 V-노치 균열의 고유벡터계수 해석 (An Analysis of Eigenvector Coefficient for V-notched Cracks in Pseudo-isotropic and Anisotropic Dissimilar Materials)

  • The V-notched crack problem in dissimilar materials can be formulated as an eigenvalue problem. The RWCIM(Reciprocal Work Contour Integral Method) is applied to the determination of the eigenvector coefficients associated with eigenvalues for V-notched cracks in pseudo-isotropic and anisotropic dissimilar materials. The RWCIM algorithm is programed by the commercial numerical program, MATHEMATICA. The numerical results obtained are shown that the RWCIM is a useful method for determining the eigenvector coefficients of V-notched cracks in pseudo-isotropic and anisotropic dissimilar materials.

  • The problem of eigenvalue and eigenvector is obtained from a V-notched crack in pseudo-isotropic dissimilar materials by the traction free boundary and the perfect bonded interface conditions. The complex stress function is assumed as the two-term William's type. The eigenvalue is solved by a commercial numerical program, MATHEMATICA to discuss stress singularities for V-notched cracks in pseudo-isotropic dissimilar materials. The RWCIM(Reciprocal Work Contour Integral Method) is applied to the determination to eigenvector coefficients associated with eigenvalues. The RWCIM algorithm is also coded by the MATHEMATICA.

  • This paper deals with an analysis and reduction of escalator vibration by using the response surface model. Optimization of the escalator vibration is performed by minimization of the vibration responses which are measured at steps. The response surface models of the factors are constructed by using the experimental data based on the D optimal design method. The multi-objective optimization is also performed by applying desirability function and overlaid contour plot techniques. The optimal solution, which is obtained for a typical escalator system, is applied to reduce the escalator vibration.
