  • Mathematics education is very important in future because mathematics is the basis of every study, for example, natural and social science, etc. Our nation wide curriculum has been revised six times since 1948. In 1992, the sixth revision was enforced and we are using the revised textbook now. This study aims at helping of continuous investigation for educational curriculum and textbook, and aims at efficient teaching by preventing unnecessary repetition and excessive gap in real field by analyzing the articulation of Analytics part in school textbook from elementary to high school. This thesis consists of the followings. 1.Investigation of the principles and natures of articulation along with curriculum course and notice the articulation based on the analysing tools. 2.Importance of learning functions. 3.To get the propriety, formation of 8 judging group and classification of content materials in function chapters by the judges based on the analyzing tools. 4.Analysis of presentation method and terminologies in the first concepts, suggestion teaching method to reduce gap and help of understanding on first concepts in the study of function. As a result 'development' consists of 55.8% of the total and it is higher than 'duplication' and 'gap'. To be specific in periods, between elementary school and middle school 'development' takes 64.5% and this shows an acceptable articulation in the period. While 39.4% of 'gap' in articulation between middle school and high school looks high compared with 'gap' between the previous periods. The item suggested with the 'gap' is the 'definition of function', 'value of function', 'parallel translation', 'exponential and logarithmic function'. It is observed that these materials is suddenly appeared in high school.

  • Creativity has become a buzzword in the 21s1 century to the extent that it is considered as one of the criteria for a nation's competitiveness. In the cultural industry, one of the industries with the highest growth potential, creativity is the decisive factor Nevertheless, we have to admit that there is a serious lack of this quality in the planning area. Everyone is born with creativity and creative way of looking at things can be developed through training and education. Most of universities now classify digital contents within the realm of design, therefore, emphasizing only the formal or the artistic side of it. However, the study of digital contents requires creative thinking processes that are oriented to problem-solving, for which one needs to put together his/her planning (socio-cultural), expressive (artistic) and technological (scientific) capabilities at the same time. Also, the education of digital contents should be focused not only on acquiring the knowledge and skills, but also on developing individual creativity and learning to increase one's creativity working in a team of an organization. For the environmental aspect, education for creativity should take into account social and cultural specificities of Korea. Therefore, continuous studies must be done to explore more concrete ways of developing creativity on the individual, organizational and environmental levels.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an auxiliary device useful for promoting continued participation in the golf among young golfers and female beginner-level golfers who were gradually increasing in number but often losing interest in the golf and gave up playing golf due to difficulty with posture, boredom from golf itself, slow improvement of skill, etc., in the process of learning the golf. For that, a hardware device fitted with various sensors was attached to the lower part of golf club grip to develop a platform capable of collecting and transmitting the data on each golfer's swing posture, driving distance, etc. If a smartphone app, which can analyze and store those data, is developed and synchronized, each golfer's postures can be identified and golfers can correct the posture on their own. Moreover, the smartphone app provides the contents for self-comparison and comparison with others and will be able to infuse the beginner-level golfers with internal motivation for continued participation in the golfing exercise if the game-type elements are added.

  • Game bot playing is one of the main risks in Massively Multi-Online Role Playing Games(MMORPG) because it damages overall game playing environment, especially the balance of the in-game economy. There have been many studies to detect game bot. However, the previous detection models require continuous maintenance efforts to train and learn the game bots' patterns whenever the game contents change. In this work, we have proposed a machine learning technique using the self-similarity property that is an intrinsic attribute in game bots and automated maintenance system. We have tested our method and implemented a system to major three commercial games in South Korea. As a result, our proposed system can detect and classify game bots with high accuracy.

  • Long-term potentiation (LTP) of synaptic transmission is the most widely studied model for learning and memory. However its mechanisms are not clearly elucidated and are a subject for intense investigation. Previous attempts to decipher cellular mechanisms and network properties involved a current-source density analysis (CSDA) of the LTP from small animal hippocampus measured with a limited number of microelectrodes (typically <3), only revealing limited nature of spatiotemporal dynamics. Recent advancement in multi-electrode array (MEA) technology allows continuous and simultaneous recordings of LTP with more than 60 electrodes. However CSDA via the standard Laplacian transform is still limited due to its relatively high sensitivity toward noise, inability of resolving overlapped current sources and sinks, and its requirement for tissue conductivity values. In this study, we propose a new methodology for improved CSDA. Independent component analysis and its joint use (i.e., Joint-ICA) are applied to extract spatiotemporal components of LTP. The results show that ICA and Joint-ICA are capable of extracting independent spatiotemporal components of LTP generators. The ICs of LTP indicate the reversing roles of current sources and sinks which are associated with LTP.

  • This research analyzed mathematical discourse of the students in an RME-based differential equations course at a university in order to investigate the social transformation of the students' conceptual model of differential equations. The analysis focused on the change in the students' use of conceptual metaphor for differential equations and pedagogical factors promoting the change. The analysis shows that discrete and quantitative conceptual model was prevalent in the beginning of the semester However, continuous and qualitative conceptual model emerged through the negotiation of mathematical meaning based on the inquiry of context problems. The participation in the project class has a positive impact on the extension of the students' conceptual model of differential equations and increases the fluency of the students' problem solving in differential equations. Moreover, this paper provides a discussion to identify the pedagogical factors Involved with the transformation of the students' conceptual model. The discussion highlights the sociocultural aspect of teaching and learning of mathematics and provides implications to improve teaching of mathematics in school.

  • The Republic of Korea has made major strides in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) over the last five decades. After going through continuous efforts in e-Government and national informatization, Korea has become one of the global E-government leaders. Korea's E-government Development Index ranking assessed by the United Nations improved from 15th in 2001 to the top in 2010 and 2012 out of 192 countries worldwide, and its E-participation Index ranking was also ranked 1st in 2010& 2012. In addition, many of Korea's E-government practices until now have been introduced to the world as the best cases and received worldwide acknowledgement. The importance of official development aid/assistance (ODA) through informatization is especially gaining attention as Korea has joined the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and its status has significantly improved within international organizations. The Korean government has selected countries that have high potential in trade, economic, and E-government cooperation or those that are selected as ODA priority countries by the international community and has carried out various activities including ICT consultation, ICT Cooperation Center operation, and ICT learning programs. With joining the OECD DAC, Korea's overseas aid projects are expected to increase and be carried out in a more systematic manner. Also in the area of informatization, the importance of not only the overseas aid 'in ICT' itself but also the overseas aid 'through ICT' is increasing along with the expanding scale for more efficient and influential support. The Korean government's comprehensive reach of international projects in the ICT arena, aims to foster the global partnership for development by sharing and expanding the benefits of ICTs. The Korean government recognizes its advances and has endeavored to share them with others through participation in international forums and hosting of workshops.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a motivational interviewing (MI) training program to improve competency in communication and to effect the evaluated changes that would occur in dental students' counseling techniques as result of the training in the program. The study proceeded through the program via role-play practice, which was explained effectively during the MI program training process. A convenience sample of 43 fourth-year dental hygiene students was recruited. Twenty-two students were randomly assigned to the intervention group and 21 to the control group in the order of recruitment. The theoretical lecture was delivered over 3 hours and the practice was done in parallel by applying cases occurring in clinic settings. The practice was technical training, partner practice, and small group practice. The intervention group received three hour MI lecture while the control group received no lecture. Evaluation through role-play practice was separated according to "researcher's viewpoint," "counselor's role viewpoint," and "patient's role viewpoint." The results of the analysis showed that the intervention group had higher MI skills and ability than the control group. Furthermore, program participants showed positive impressions to the MI training program. The use of coaching sessions improved the MI techniques and counseling skills of dental hygiene students learning MI. The effect of the application of the MI training program was that the MI training improved counseling skills and interviewing abilities. Moreover, continuous training and feedback enhanced MI techniques and core skills. Training using lectures in parallel with practice rather than education through theory alone improved students' techniques. Application of role play through the combined method of the MI program was confirmed by an effective training method.

  • Background: The continuous co-contraction of the trunk muscles through trunk stabilization exercises is important to patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). However, intentional abdominal muscle contraction (IAMC) for trunk stabilization has been used only for specific training in the treatment room. Objects: The purpose of this study was to provide feedback to adults with LSS to enable IAMC during activities of daily living (ADLs). Methods: The participants with spinal stenosis were divided into an experimental group of 15 adults and a control group of 16 adults. Electromyographic signals were measured while the subjects kept their both hands held up at $90^{\circ}$. The measured muscles were the rectus abdominis (RA), external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), and erector spinae (ES). Pelvic tilt was measured using a digital pelvic inclinometer. The degree of pain was measured using the visual analogue scale (VAS) and functional capacity was measured using the Korean version of the Oswestry disability index (KODI). Results: While the experimental group showed statistically significantly higher activities in the RA, EO, and IO after the intervention compared with the control group. Pelvic tilt was significantly decreased only in the experimental group. Both the experimental and control groups exhibited statistically significant declines in the VAS and KODI (p<.01). In terms of the levels of changes, the experimental group exhibited a statistically significant larger decline only in the VAS and the pelvic tilt when compared with the control group (p<.05). Conclusions: The subjects could stabilize their trunks, and relieve their pain and dysfunctions and reduce pelvic tilt by learning abdominal muscle contraction during ADLs. The combination of therapeutic exercises and IAMC may have greater effects on patients with LSS.
