  • As digital media technology continues to evolve, media arts are being created using new technologies. Among them, interactive media provides new experience and interest to the audience in that the audience is completed only by participating in the works. The use of these characteristics as a marketing strategy has led to an increase in sales and a positive image of the company. Through this study, we analyze the case of interactive media contents and infer the usage plan and elements. In addition, we propose a prototype of interactive media contents that can be used as a strategic marketing element by exploring ways to utilize interactive media as a marketing element of the film industry. This suggests the development direction of interactive media that provides a continuous and new sense of immersion to the audience, and suggests subsequent research on effective use of the industry as well as movie marketing.

  • With the growth of the Korean Wave and the importance of the fandom economy, it is necessary to consider the competitiveness of the Korean Wave with its fandom viewpoint. Particularly, the fandom phenomenon shows the characteristics of identifying the favorite star and actively acquiring and sharing related information in the fan community. Therefore, in this study, we examined the influence of Korean national image on consumers' intention to use Korean contents, and examined the mediating effects of fandom identification among Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese consumers. As a result of the empirical analysis, cultural image, corporate image, and product image were found to have statistically significant influence on the intention to use Korean Wave contents. In addition, star identification and pan community identification showed partial mediation in the effect of cultural images on the intention to use Korean contents. The results of this study suggest that the Korean Wave is a leading factor for the continuous development of Korean Wave, not the halo effect point for improving the national image, and the mediating effect of the fandom phenomenon is tested empirically.

  • A class D fire or combustible metal fire is characterized by the presence of burning metals. Only certain metals or metal compounds are flammable, including sodium and lithium. General fire extinguishing agents, such as dry chemical powder, water-based fire extinguish agents, and carbon dioxide, cannot be used in class D fires. This is because these agents cause adverse reactions or are ineffective. In addition, the amount of usage of combustible metals is increasing due to continuous development of the semiconductor and fuel cell industries. Despite this, Korea does not have standards and laws related to combustible metal fires. This paper suggests directions of the class D fire management policies to reduce the class D fire risk and impact by analyzing the standards and laws related to class D fires and combustible metal fire cases. The factors to make laws on class D fire prevention and response systems, and management system of dry sand were determined. These results may be used to help reduce the risk of class D fires and improve the response abilities.

  • The radon gas from nature mainly considers a cause of radon problems, and it is closely affect human life cycle. Korean yellow residual soil, Hwangtoh, widely used as a building material, is considered to be one of major sources of indoor radon. However, there have, as yet, been no studies about radon from Hwangtoh in mass market brands. Here, we investigated the indoor radon concentrations and exhalation rates in four Hwangtohs from different brand names and regional features. The Closed Chamber Method (CCM) conducted by a Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) has been used for the rates of radon exhalation. Based on equations of previous references, the indoor radon concentrations were deducted. As a result, the radon surface exhalation rates resulted in the 1.4208 to 3.0293 Bq·㎡·h-1 range. Significant differences were found among Hwangtohs according to production regions. Materials with higher radon concentration required a longer time to reach a quasi-steady state in a given environment, in other words, the number of half-life cycles increased from a set starting point. The experimentally identified Hwangtohs demonstrated its safety for construction purposes. There exists, so far, a possibility to exert influence radon emanation due to unidentified factors. Therefore, it is necessary to corroborate with more research by increasing the number of Hwangtohs, considering the other references reported high radon exhalation rates. In addition, it is highly recommended that the radon exhalation rates should be measured for all building materials for preventing human health before the material usage.

  • Machines and facilities are physically or chemically degenerated by continuous usage. The representative type of the degeneration is the wearing of tools, which results in the process mean shift. According to the increasing wear level, non-conforming products cost and quality loss cost are increasing simultaneously. Therefore, a preventive maintenance is necessary at some point. The problem of determining the maintenance period (or wear limit) which minimizes the total cost is called the 'process mean shift problem'. The total cost includes three items: maintenance cost (or adjustment cost), non-conforming cost due to the non-conforming products, and quality loss cost due to the difference between the process target value and the product characteristic value among the conforming products. In this study, we set the production volume as a decreasing function rather than a constant. Also we treat the process variance as a function to the increasing wear rather than a constant. To the quality loss function, we adopted the Cpm+, which is the left and right asymmetric process capability index based on the process target value. These can more reflect the production site. In this study, we presented a more extensive maintenance model compared to previous studies, by integrating the items mentioned above. The objective equation of this model is the total cost per unit wear. The determining variables are the wear limit and the initial process setting position that minimize the objective equation.

  • Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of different cooling sessions (CSs) as a water conservation strategy on physiological, and production responses and welfare in Holstein Friesian cows during subtropical summer in Pakistan. Methods: Twenty-one cows were subjected to three CS in a completely randomized design. The treatments were: i) eleven hours continuous cooling with sprinklers - control (CNT), ii) four CS, and iii) two CS. The CNT represented the practices of the commercial dairy farms in the area, while the other CSs were used as water reduction strategies. Each CS lasted for 1 h with a 12 min cycle (3 min water on and 9 min off) with a sprinkler flow rate of 1.25 L/min. Results: The average temperature humidity index of the shed and the outside open area were 81.9 and 82.5, respectively. The results showed that both physiological responses were highest in the 2CS group followed by the CNT and the 4CS (p = 0.001). The CNT and 4CS groups had similar milk yield (p = 0.040). The 4CS group had more lying and eating times than the CNT and 2CS groups (p = 0.000). The cortisol level in the 2CS group was 2.0 and 2.2 ㎍/dL more than the CNT and the 4CS groups, respectively (p = 0.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, the 4CS was more efficient in cooling the cows and had better welfare, as it yielded similar milk yield, and better physiological responses than the CNT despite using 90% less water.

  • This study empirically analyzed the effects of immersion and self-efficacy on the intention to continuously use realistic media. To this end, we used an extended technology acceptance model that includes not only the perceived ease of use and usefulness, but also the perceived joy as important factors. We collected data from 595 participants through an online questionnaire survey and tested the research model using a covariance-based SEM. As a result, we found that a user's immersion significantly increased perceived usefulness, ease of use, and joy of realistic media; and self-efficacy increased perceived usefulness and ease of use. Although the effect of perceived usefulness was relatively stronger than that of perceived joy, we found that the effect of perceived joy on the intention to use was also quite large. The effect of perceived ease of use on intention to use was found to be completely mediated by perceived usefulness and joy. In addition, the differences according to the types of media were tested by comparing two groups: augmented reality and virtual reality. The effects of perceived ease, usefulness, and joy on the intention to use were very similar regardless of the type of immersive media. However, it was found that self-efficacy increases usefulness only in augmented reality. Based on our findings, we have discussed the implications of our study, as well as the scope for future research.

  • The phone number used for advertising messages and voices used as bait in the voice phishing crime access stage is being used to send out a large amount of illegal loan spam, so we want to quickly block it. In this paper, our system is designed to block the usage of the phone number by rapidly restricting the use of the voice spam phone number that conducts illegal loan spam and voice phishing, and at the same time sends continuous calls to the phone number to prevent smooth phone call connection. The proposed system is a representative collaboration model between an illegal spam reporting agency and an investigation agency. As a result of developing the system and applying it in practice, the number of reports of illegal loaned voice spam and text spam decreased by 1/3, respectively. We can prove the effectiveness of this system by confirming that.
