This paper discusses several topics associated with the densification caused by supertall buildings and their impact on city systems. The paper covers five key areas where a supertall tower creates a concentration of needs and effects. First, the paper comments on population shifts towards the city and how they affect carbon footprint, utilities infrastructure and transport. The effect of single- and mixed-use towers is discussed in the context of population density. The second section brings the issues of transit, accessibility and master planning into focus. The use and criticality of public transport, cycling and walking is described. Servicing and deliveries using freight consolidation and shared systems is also discussed along with their contribution to the culture of sustainable travel. In the third section the paper reflects on supertall buildings' below-ground utilities and drainage provision, particularly the challenges faced in established city infrastructures. The utilities issues associated with supertall concentration (in land-use terms) compared to equivalent low-rise distribution is also commented on in the context of surface water runoff. In the fourth section, the topic of supertall sustainability is discussed and how city systems need to respond to create desirable and affordable space for occupiers. The changing need for vertical communities, 'stacked neighbourhoods' and the notion of a micro-city is described. Finally, the paper considers the energy consumption and resilience of supertall buildings in the context of basic geometry, façade design, climate and mixed-use benefits as they impact city systems.

거시평가는 기록의 대량생산 환경에서 기능분석에 의한 기록을 효과적으로 감축하는데 필요한 유용한 수단을 제공한다. 거시평가는 기록 자체가 아니라 기록이 만들어진 배경적 요인에 주목하며 개별기록이 아닌 집합기록의 중요도를 평가한다. 또한 미래 이용자에게 필요한 유용성이 아니라 현재적 활용의 유용성을 기준으로 한다. 거시평가는 캐나다, 네덜란드, 호주 등에서 실행하고 있는데 특히, 캐나다는 거시평가에 관하여 비교적 완성된 이론 기반과 방법론을 제시했다고 판단된다. 이 글은 이러한 캐나다의 거시평가 사례를 기본으로 하여 한국에서의 국토개발정책 수립분야와 관련한 공공기록물에 거시평가를 도입하기 위한 방법을 모색하기 위한 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to explore how science docents developed their expertise in the context of situated learning where two experienced docents played roles of mentors. Two experienced docents as mentors and six participating docents as mentees interacted in the community to develop exhibition interpretation strategies to be more professional in interacting with visitors through the workshops developed by the researcher. To figure out how docents developed their expertise in exhibit interpretation, the researcher collected the data from docents through observation, artifacts, and interviews as well as surveys. The result of this study included that participating docents formed new perception about scientific inquiry as well as scientific literacy and they developed professional skills of planning, implementing, and reflecting of exhibition interpretation in the context of situated learning, where docents formed alliance one another. It is recognized that participating docents' passions to be professional in exhibition interpretation and two experienced docents' wills as mentors made dynamic interaction in pursuing the same aim of docents' expertise in exhibition interpretation.

SISP는 정보시스템 관리에서 중요한 부문이다. 기업은 성공적인 SISP를 통하여 장기적이며 효과적인 정보시스템 활용방안을 수립할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 기업의 목표 달성을 적극 지원할 수 있다. 이러한 체계적이고 성공적인 SISP은 기업으로 하여금 새로운 응용시스템을 개발하기 위한 우선순위의 결정, 정보시스템의 기능을 관리하고 정보시스템의 서비스를 조직화하기 위한 정책이나 절차의 개발, 나아가서 데이터와 응용프로그램의 통합을 촉진할 수 있는 글로벌화 된, 전사적인 정보 아키텍쳐를 완성할 수 있다. 성공적인 SISP 수립을 위해서 많은 연구들이 진행되어왔으며, 대부분의 연구들이 계획과정에서 가지고 있는 문제점 해결을 위한 연구, 계획수립 역량에 영향을 미치는 핵심적인 요인들을 찾아내는 연구, 계획 과정을 수행하기위한 방법론에 대한 연구, 또는 성공적인 SISP와 기업성과와의 관계에 관한 연구 등이다. 본 연구의 목적은 성공적인 SISP의 기준(criteria)을 두 가지 차원 즉 관리 능력의 향상(improvement of planning capabilities)부문과 계획의 목표 달성(fulfillment of planning objectives) 부문으로 규정하고 성공적인 SISP 수립을 달성하기 위한 경로(path)를 밝히는데 있다. 즉 연구의 범위를 구체적으로 설명하면 다음 과 같다. (1) SISP의 관리능력을 향상시키는 조직적 요인은 무엇이며 얼마나 영향을 미치는가? (2) SISP의 관리능력의 향상은 계획의 목표달성에 얼마나 중요한가? 연구 결과에 의하면 계획의 관리능력향상에 영향을 미치는 조직적 요인은 정보시스템의 현재 및 미래의 역할이며 또한 관리 능력의향상은 계획의 목표달성에 밀접한 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

Objective: The present study developed a user-centered 3D virtual liver surgery planning (VLSP) system called Dr. Liver to provide preoperative information for safe and rational surgery. Background: Preoperative 3D VLSP is needed for patients' safety in liver surgery. Existing systems either do not provide functions specialized for liver surgery planning or do not provide functions for cross-check of the accuracy of analysis results. Method: Use scenarios of Dr. Liver were developed through literature review, benchmarking, and interviews with surgeons. User interfaces of Dr. Liver with various user-friendly features (e.g., context-sensitive hotkey menu and 3D view navigation box) was designed. Novel image processing algorithms (e.g., hybrid semi-automatic algorithm for liver extraction and customized region growing algorithm for vessel extraction) were developed for accurate and efficient liver surgery planning. Usability problems of a preliminary version of Dr. Liver were identified by surgeons and system developers and then design changes were made to resolve the identified usability problems. Results: A usability testing showed that the revised version of Dr. Liver achieved a high level of satisfaction ($6.1{\pm}0.8$ out of 7) and an acceptable time efficiency ($26.7{\pm}0.9 min$) in liver surgery planning. Conclusion: Involvement of usability testing in system development process from the beginning is useful to identify potential usability problems to improve for shortening system development period and cost. Application: The development and evaluation process of Dr. Liver in this study can be referred in designing a user-centered system.

본 논문은 신교통 시스템인 경량전철을 도입하기 위한 기본계획 추진과정에 진행하여 온 국민참여(Public Involvement) 활동 사례를 대상으로 정보공유 이전과 이후의 신교통(LRT) 기본계획(Master Plan)에 대한 수용의식의 변화를 구조방정식모형(SEM)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 시민들은 설문조사, 홍보자료 제공, 오픈하우스 및 공청회(Public Hearing) 개최 등과 같은 PI 활동이 신교통(LRT)기본계획에 대한 중도적 의사표현에서 확실한 의사 표명으로 변화시키는 효과가 있었다. 이상 분석결과 철도사업의 PI는 해당 사업의 수용의식에 부정적 혹은 긍정적인 영향이 모두 존재할 수 있기 때문에 합의 형성이라는 결과물보다는 국민들에게 의사결정 할 수 있는 정보제공의 기회와 함께 철도사업의 절차적 정당성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 제도화가 필요하다.

본 연구는 K연구원의 상향식 R&D과제기획 차원의 신규 연구기획과제 선정평가를 위한 평가도구 개발에 목적을 두고 진행하였다. 이를 위해 CIPP모형과 연구기획평가를 위한 선정평가 및 평가지표에 관한 선행연구를 중심으로 R&D과제기획 선정평가 항목과 문항을 개발 한 후, 2회에 걸친 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 개발된 평가도구는 13명의 전문가를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 내용타당도, 합의도 및 수렴도를 검증하였다. 최종 선정된 R&D과제기획 선정평가 도구는 8개 항목에 총 21개 문항으로, 상황평가 5 문항, 투입평가 2문항, 과정평가 8문항, 산출평가 6문항으로 구성되었다. 개발된 평가 도구는 상향식 기획 과정상의 문제점을 해소하고 연구자들의 기획역량을 제고하는 데 기여할 것이다. 또한, 선정평가 시 평가에 대한 일관성과 효율성 제고에 기여할 것이다.

With the unparalleled rate of aging and rapid modernization, Korean society faces the situation in which it has to increase the supply of elderly care services dramatically in the near future. Among these services, nursing homes are considered as an essential alternative provision because Korea can no longer rely on traditional familism nor medical facilities for the care of her older population. It is necessary, therefore, to prepare a future plan for the delivery of nursing homes in Korea. This paper has identified elderly care context and analyzed elderly care facilities of Korea in the point of supply and utilization rate of nursing homes according to the region and type of facilities. On the bases of this analysis, the delivery planning of nursing homes in Korea has been proposed in order to increase welfare status of older people and efficient utilization of health care resources.

With the advent of local autonomy in the 1990s, the polemic issue of decentralizing the central government power will undoubtedly come to the fore. The purpose of this study is to reconsider the government functions both at the central and local levels, paritcularly in the fields of urban planning administration. Those policy guidelines administration. Those policy guidelines employed such delegations include : 1) leaving detailed land use regulations to the discretion of local governments; 2) increasing role of local administrations and people regarding development projects; 3) promotion of urban developers as well as public and private partnership; 4) simplifying the procedure related to development applications. In this context, the role of the central government should be redefined; macro-scale policymaking to cope with on-going globalization trends; area-wide coordination among various local bodies ; providing planning standards and information; straining manpower and operation of urban development funds and subsidies.

The Production Switching Heuristic (PSH) develope dby Mellichamp and Love (1978) has been suggested as a more realistic, practical and intuitively appealing approach to aggregate production planning (APP). In this researh, PSH has been modified to present a more sophisticated open grid search procedure for solving the APP problem. The effectiveness of this approach has been demonstrated by determining a better near-optimala solution to the classic paint factory problem. The performance of the modified production switching heuristic is then compared in the context of the paint factory problem with results obtained by other prominent APP models including LDR, PPP, and PSH to conclude that the modified PSH offers a better minimum cost solution than the original PSH model.
