Fracture behavior and martensite substructure of Ni-36.5at.%Al alloy were investigated with the addition of vanadium which is known as scavenging element of grain boundary. The fracture surfaces were examined by scanning electron microscopy and the EDX spectrometer was applied for composition analysis of fracture surfaces. The substructure of martensite was studied by transmission electron microscopy. By addition of vanadium, fracture surfaces show mixed modes of intergranular and transgranular fracture and more Al content is found on the grain boundaries. For Ni-36.5at.%Al alloy, the planar faults observed in the martensite plates are the internal twins. By increasing the vanadium content, the modulated structure with stacking faults and dislocations dominates while the twinned martensite disappears. The stacking fault is determined to be extrinsic due to the substitution of V for Al. It is concluded that the segregation of sulfur on the high-energy state stacking fault area suppresses the intergranular fracture.

A buffer in a geological disposal system minimizes groundwater inflow from the surrounding rock and protects the disposed high-level waste (HLW) against any mechanical impact. As decay heat of a spent fuel causes temperature variation in the buffer that affects the mechanical performance of the system, an accurate estimation of the temperature variation is substantial. The temperature variation is affected by thermal and material properties of the system such as thermal conductivity, density and specific heat capacity of the buffer, and thus these factors should be properly included in the design of the system. In particular, as the thermal properties are variable depending on the density and water content of the buffer, consideration of the effects should be included in the analysis. Hence, in this study, a numerical model based on finite element method (FEM) which is able to consider the change of density and water content of the buffer was established. In addition, using the numerical model, a parametric study was conducted to investigate the effect of each thermal property on the temperature variation of the buffer.
This research aims to evaluate the effects and the shortcomings of strategies for teaching paraphrasing to foreign university students. For this study, the effects of teaching paraphrasing skills on student's academic writing was investigated through the assessment of pre- and post-test writing tasks and through a focus group interview. The teaching of paraphrasing was divided into 3 instructional sessions and the focus group interview was conducted at the end of the last session. After each instructional session three trained assessors evaluated the outcomes of pre and post task writings; the in-depth focus group interviews were conducted on seven of the students in order to define better positive effects as well as shortcomings. By comparing the scores of pre- and post-task assignments it is possible to affirm that there is a meaningful difference for overall scores; moreover, in an analysis conducted on each single sub-element of the paraphrasing skill, it emerged that except for "task completion", all other four elements of "structure", "understanding core content", "change of expression" and "academic expressions" showed a statistically significant improvement in performance. On the other hand, as a result of the focus group interview, it was possible to individuate as main shortcomings insufficient vocabulary knowledge, poor overall comprehension of the reference material, lack of practice and difficulty in connect sentences organically. It is possible to consider these elements as limiting factors in understanding the reference material and making correct citations by the students. Therefore, we suggest as supplementary instructional strategies a deeper attention to the difficulty level of the text, the introduction of devices to understand better the content of the reference material and an integrated practice of the paraphrasing skill.
Recently, software education has been emphasized as a key element of the fourth industrial revolution. Many universities are strengthening the software education for all students according to the needs of the times. The use of online content is an effective way to introduce SW education for all students. However, the provision of uniform online contents has limitations in that it does not consider individual characteristics(major, sw interest, comprehension, interests, etc.) of students. In this study, we propose a recommendation method that utilizes the directional similarity between contents in the boolean view history data environment. We propose a new item-based recommendation formula that uses the confidence value of association rule analysis as the similarity level and apply it to the data of domestic paid contents site. Experimental results show that the recommendation accuracy is improved than when using the traditional collaborative recommendation using cosine or jaccard for similarity measurements.

Fast infrastructure development boosts the demand for shotcrete. Despite sand and stone being the most common coarse and fine aggregates for shotcrete, excessive exploration of these materials challenges the ecological environment. This study utilized an industrial solid waste, high-titanium heavy slag, blended with steel fibers to form Wet Shotcrete of Steel Fiber-reinforced High-Titanium Heavy Slag (WSSFHTHS). It investigated its workability, shotcrete performance and mechanical properties under different water-to-cement ratios, fly ash content, superplasticizer dosage, and steel fiber content. The tunnel excavation and support were investigated by conducting finite element numerical simulation analysis and was used in 3 tunnel lining pipes in Zhonggouwan tailing pond. The major findings are as follows: (1) The water-to-cement ratio (w/c ratio) significantly impacted the compressive strength of WSSFHTHS. The highest 28-day compressive strength of 60 MPa was achieved when the w/c ratio was 0.38; (2) Adding fly ash improved the workability and shotcrete performance and strength development of WSSFHTHS. The best anti-permeability performance was achieved when the fly ash constituted 15%, with the lowest permeability coefficient of 4.596 × 10-11 cm/s; (3) The optimum superplasticizer dosage for WSSFHTHS is 0.8%. It provided the best workability and shotcrete performance. Excessive dosage resulted in water bleeding and poor aggregate encapsulation, while insufficient dosage decreased flowability and adversely affected shotcrete performance; (4) The dosage of steel fibers significantly impacted the flexural and tensile strength of WSSFHTHS. When the steel fiber dosage was 45 kg/m3, the 28-day flexural and tensile strengths were 8.95 MPa and 6.15 MPa, respectively; (5) By integrating existing shotcrete techniques, the optimal lining thickness was 80 mm for WSSFHTHS per simulation. The results revealed that after using WSSFHTHS, the displacement of the tunnel surrounding the rock significantly improved, with no cracks or hollows, similar to the simulation results.

This study analyzed what STEAM elements, except mathematical content, are contained in 2009 revised elementary school 5th and 6th grade group mathematics textbooks. STEAM elements in the textbooks were examined by grade and by content area in the elementary school mathematics curriculum. The results were as follows. First, the number of STEAM elements in mathematics 5-1, 5-2, 6-1, 6-2 are 151(18.4%), 212(25.9%), 211(25.7%), 246(30.0%), respectively. The 6th Grade than in 5th Grade can be seen a few plenty. Second, the number of STEAM elements are different depending on the type of STEAM. The number of arts element is 617(75.2%) and this elements are seen the most. The number of representative art and cultural art is 445(54.3%) and 172(20.9%), respectively. The number of technology-engineering and science is 158(19.2%) and 45(5.5%), respectively. We need to developed to promote use of science element in next mathematics curriculum.

This paper was performed to estimate interrelations between humus level of sediments and nutrient release from sediments in Dae-cheong reservoir. For investigations, sediments were sampled in June and October, in 1997 at fish farms, embayment, and the main stream of Dae-cheong reservoir. Items for investigation are as follows; water content, weight loss on ignition(IG), porosities of sediments, contents of element such as hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, and nutrient release rates. Water contents and porosities were measured to conjecture the physical trait and grain size trait. Weight loss on ignition was measured to determine the contents of organic substance. For determination of the humus level of sediments, carbon and nitrogen contents were measured by elemental analyzer. As a result of elemental analysis, C/N ratio was determined in the range of $3.0\~13.1$. From the elemental analysis, humus level of Dae-cheong reservoir sediment was estimated from mesohumic state to oligotrophic state. For the determination of nutrient release rate, $PO_4-P$ and $NH_4-N$ concentrations of interstitial water and overlying water were measured. By using the concentration difference between interstitial water and overlying water and using the Fick's diffusion law, the release rates of phosphorus and nitrogen from the sediment samples were calculated. Release rates of nutrients which directly influence to the water quality were $0.05\~8.63mgP/m^2day$ and $4.99\~36.56mgP/m^2day$. It was found that release rate was measured higher in the 1st sampling period than in the 2nd sampling period. For the determination of phosphorus content in sediment, TPs were measured in 807\~1542{\mu}g/g$ in the 1st samling period and $677\~5238{\mu}g/g$ in the End samling period. Phosphorus release rate and phosphorus content were not interrelated each other.
Vanadium is an essential trace element but has not been identified with a specific biogical role. To study the direct effects of vanadium on osteoblast, we incubated murin osteoblast-like (MC3T3-El) cells with various corcentration of vanadium oxide & sodium orthovanadate. This study was designed to investigate the effect of vanadium on DNA synthesis, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, cAMP formation responsive to parathormone(PTH) and type I $\alpha$ 2 collagen ribonucleic acid (mRNA) level in murin osteoblast-like (MC3T3-El) cells. The cells were cultured in $\alpha-minimal$ essential medium$(\alpha-MEM)$ supplemented with $10\%$ fetal bovine serum (FBS) and then changed to $0.1\%$ FBS with various concenoation of vanadium oxide & sodium orthovanadate. Quiescent cultured MC3T3-El cells incubated for 24 hours with 2,5,10,15,20 ${\mu}M$ vanadium oxide incorporated $[^3H]Thymidine;$ every concentration showed increases in $[^3H]Thymidine$ incorporations dose dependant manner, the greatest response occurred at $20{\mu}M$. Quiescent cultured MC3T3-E1 cells incubated for 3days with 2,5,10,15,20 ${\mu}M$ vanadium oxide, for 2days with sodium orthovanadate and alkaline phosphatase was assayed with disodium phenyl phosphate as substrate. Vanadium oxide increased the alkaline phosphatase content in MC3T3-El cells at $2{\mu}M\;&\;6{\mu}M$ ; the greatest response occurred at $2{\mu}M$. But decreased at other content sodium orthovanadate increased alkaline phosphatase content in MC3T3-El cells at all concenoation ; the greatest response occurred at $4{\mu}M$. Quiescent cultured MC3T3-El cells incubated for 3days with $5,10{\mu}M$ vanadium oxide , with $5,8{\mu}M$ sodium orthovanadate and cAMP formation was measured by Radioimmunoassay(RIA). Vanadium oxide & sodium orthovanadate showed the tendency of inhibitory effects on cAMP responsiveness to PTH in MC3T3-El cells. Quiescent cultured MC3T3-El cells incubated for 24hours with $10,20{\mu}M$ vanadium oxide, with $5,10{\mu}M$ sodium orthovanadate and Type I $\alpha$ 2 collagen ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expression was studied by Nothern blot analysis. Northern blot analysis of vanadium oxide treated cells showed decreasing effects 0& sodium orthovanadate revealed increasing effects in type I $\alpha$ 2 collagen ribonucleic acid (mRNA) level.
The purpose of this study is to present the direction of elementary school AI education by analyzing cases of classes related to AI education in actual school settings. For this purpose, 19 classes were collected as elementary school class cases based on AI education. According to the result of analyzing the class case, it was confirmed that the class was designed in a hybrid aspect of learning content and method using AI. As a result of analyzing the achievement standards and learning goals, action verbs related to memory, understanding, and application were found in 8 classes using AI from a tool perspective. When class was divided into introduction, development, and rearrangement stages, the AI education element appeared the most in the development stage. On the other hand, when looking at the ratio of learning content and learning method of AI education elements in the development stage, the learning time for approaching AI education as a learning method was overwhelmingly high. Based on this, the following implications were derived. First, when designing the curriculum for schools and grades, it should be designed to comprehensively deal with AI as a learning content and method. Second, to supplement the understanding of AI, in the short term, it is necessary to secure the number of hours in practical subjects or creative experience activities, and in the long term, it is necessary to secure information subjects.
The bioleaching experiment under $42^{\circ}C$ was effectively carried out to leach the more valuable element ions from the pyrite in the Gangyang mine waste. Bacteria can survive at this temperature, as indigenous acidophilic bacteria were collected in the Hatchobaru acidic hot spring, in Japan. To enhance the bacterial activity, yeast extract was added to the pyrite-leaching medium. The indigenous acidophilic bacteria appeared to be rod-shaped in the growth-medium which contained elemental sulfur and yeast extract. The rod-shaped bacteria ($0.7\times2.6\;{\mu}m$, $0.6\times7\;{\mu}m$, $0.8\times5\;{\mu}m$ and $0.7\times8.4\;{\mu}m$) were attached to the pyrite surface. The colonies of the rod-shaped bacteria were selectively attached to the surroundings of a hexagonal cavity and the inner wall of the hexagonal cavity, which developed on a pyrite surface. Filament-shaped bacteria ranging from $4.92\;{\mu}m$ to $10.0\;{\mu}m$ in length were subsequently attached to the surrounding cracks and inner wall of the cracks on the pyrite surface. In the XRD analysis, the intensity of (111), (311), (222) and (320) plane on the bacteria pyrite sample relatively decreased in plane on the control pyrite sample, whereas the intensity of (200), (210) and (211) increased in these samples. The microbiological leaching content of Fe ions was found to be 3.4 times higher than that of the chemical leaching content. As for the Zn, microbiological leaching content, it was 2 times higher than the chemical leaching content. The results of XRD analysis for the bioleaching of pyrite indicated that the indigenous acidophilic bacteria are selectively attacked on the pyrite specific plane. It is expected that the more valuable element ions can be leached out from the mine waste, if the temperature is increased in future bioleaching experiments.
