  • The purpose of the study was to explore the uses and gratification of social media among first-year student groups at a satellite campus of a public university in Ghana. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The study involved all 1061 first-year university students in six academic departments of the College. A total of 680 (64%) participants returned validly completed copies of the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings indicate that WhatsApp was the most popular application for social media groups, while a need for information-sharing, peer-tutoring and learning, and finding and keeping friends were the primary motivations for joining social media groups. First-year students are involved mainly in reactive activities, as most engage when solving an academic assignment through group discussions. Though challenges persist, such as posting of unwanted images, inadequate participation, and ineffective and irrelevant communication, most are willing to continue their social media groups' membership in the long term. This study provides valuable insight into transitioning students' lived experiences on social media from the group perspective. These insights are valuable conceptually and practically to academic counsellors, librarians and student affairs officers who are expected to provide on-going education on (social) media literacy to first-year students to enhance the adjustment process. The study is the first of its kind in Ghana that investigates social media group participants' exit intentions.

  • Travel YouTubers who cross the boundary between tradition and novelty communicate by sharing their activities with others through SNS-based media. Media content should not only satisfy individuals, nor should it be too purpose-oriented. YouTube channels should be operated so that users can easily access content naturally, and more diverse methods can be pursued based on usage patterns and satisfaction theory. This study is about the type of perception of Generation Z on travel YouTube titles. As a result of conducting QUANL program analysis on 34 Q samples and 28 P samples from the Q methodological perspective, a total of three types were found. For types with unique characteristics, the first type was named "attention of keywords that draw imagination," the second type was "preferred to stories that stimulate curiosity," and the third type was "image satisfaction reflecting expectations." In addition, considering the characteristics of each type found, the scalability and strategic plan of the activities that Generation Z travel YouTubers want to unfold were presented.

  • Cloud computing has been gaining popularity over decades, and container, a technology that is primarily used in cloud native applications, is also drawing attention. Although container technologies are lighter and more capable than conventional VMs, there are several security threats, such as sharing kernels with host systems or uploading/downloading images from the image registry. one of which can refer to the integrity of container images. In addition, runtime security while the container application is running is very important, and monitoring the behavior of the container application at runtime can help detect abnormal behavior occurring in the container. Therefore, in this paper, first, we implement a signing checker that automatically checks the signature of an image based on the existing Docker Content Trust (DCT) technology to ensure the integrity of the container image. Next, based on falco, an open source project of Cloud Native Computing Foundation(CNCF), we introduce newly created image for the convenience of existing falco image, and propose implementation of docker-compose and package configuration that easily builds a monitoring system.

  • This study analyzes the content of YouTube Vlog videos created by patients of Coronavirus disease 2019 ("COVID-19") in South Korea and viewer comments on those videos. As this new infectious disease started to sweep the world in late 2019 and early 2020, the public started facing fear and uncertainty stemming from the lack of sufficient and accurate information about the virus. At the same time, as COVID-19 patients in South Korea were treated in isolation to prevent the spread of the virus, the patients themselves were experiencing anxiety and exclusion from the society. During this period, there was an increase in YouTube Vlog videos created by the patients in which they shared their experiences going through the treatment and recovery processes. To understand how these YouTube Vlog videos were being used by the patients to connect with the society and seek support in a state of isolation and anxiety, this study conducted a qualitative multi-case analysis of three sample YouTube Vlog video channels to analyze their content, as well as a lexicon-based sentiment analysis of viewer comments to understand the experiences and reactions of viewers. The patients' YouTube Vlog videos showed that they shared similar stages of progress, despite each emphasizing a different main theme. Overall, the tone of the viewer comments became increasingly positive over time, although with some variance among different patient cases and stages. The results confirmed that Vlogs of patients played a significant role in reducing the uncertainty around COVID-19 and strengthening social support for the patients. The findings of this study can improve an understanding of the psychological and behavioral aspects of patient experience in isolated treatment and the impact of shared communication among members of society in times of crisis.

  • Recently, many public institutions have been conducting promotional activities using digital platforms. Communication methods using digital platforms have a very important meaning in that they can create new values that did not exist before by connecting and sharing information with various users. To this end, we tried to analyze YouTube videos of five government ministries and examine them. As a result of YouTube analysis by government ministries, most of them were mainly used as channels for policy promotion, and many were used as channels for new information. Although the message is delivered through the production of various contents, it was possible to look at cases where the target as a channel for communication was not clear and the purpose was unclear. In order to communicate with the people, it should be used as a channel for communication through content suitable for clear target setting and purpose.

  • Due to COVID-19, all activities in society are emphasized non-face-to-face, and the educational environment is changing without exception. Looking at the results of the survey after conducting non-face-to-face education, there was a lot of rejection of non-face-to-face practical education. The biggest reason was that instructors were not familiar with the non-face-to-face education method, and feedback was not smooth during or after education. In particular, software practice education was not easy to share the software development environment, but communication and feedback on class contents and tasks were important. In particular, if face-to-face and non-face-to-face are alternately variable, it is not easy for practical education to be consistently connected. Even if non-face-to-face hands-on education is changed to face-to-face hands-on education, we will present a plan to use a data sharing system such as question-and-answer, assignment, practice content, and board content so that it can proceed smoothly. This study presents an efficient software education process that can provide learners with a software integrated practice environment based on a shared server, question-and-answer between instructors and learners, and share feedback on tasks. For the verification of the presented process, the effectiveness was confirmed through the survey results by applying the face-to-face/non-face-to-face education process to 220 trainees for 30 months in software education classes such as A university hands-on education, B company new employees, and ICT education courses.

  • Background: The globalization of the healthcare industry and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the global healthcare industry have opened up opportunities for specialized biotech healthcare professionals to seek overseas employment and career advancement. Objects: This study aimed to develop educational content essential for the overseas employment of digital bio-health professionals. Methods: A survey was conducted among 196 participants. Google Forms (Google) were utilized to create and administer the survey, employing purposive sampling, a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0 (IBM Co.), including Cronbach's α and independent sample t-tests to assess significant differences. Results: About half of college students are interested in overseas employment and international careers, while the other half had not. The most common reason for wanting to work or go overseas was "foreign experience will be useful for future activities in Korea." Students who had experience taking courses from the Bio-health Convergence Open Sharing University preferred overseas programs more than those who did not have that experience. In terms of the degree of desire for overseas education courses provided by universities, contents related to human health were the highest, followed by bio-health big data. Conclusion: Many students wanted to work and go overseas if there is sufficient support from the university. The findings in this study suggest that universities are necessary to play an important role in supporting students' aspirations to work or go overseas by providing language education, education and training programs, information on overseas jobs, and mentoring programs.

  • The role of a GIS as a tool for a national information infrastructure can best be fulfilled once GIS standards are implemented. In this paper, we have identified what the contents of GIS standards in other countries are, and what should be the future direction for implementing a nation's GIS standards. Based on a detailed review on GIS standards in the USA, Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom, we derived the following: (1) A nations's GIS standards should include both geographic information content standards and geographic information service standards: (2) A nation's GIS standards should be a profile of ISO GIS standards: (3) Each GIS standards should be developed on the bassis of the Entity-Relationship Model using Unified Modeling Language: and (4) Experts in GIS should pay much more attention on studies on GIS service standardization. As for building the national GIS Standards for Korea, we recommend both GIS Content Standards and GIS Service Standards be simultaneously developed. GIS Content Standards include geographic feature content standard, feature classification standard, portrayal standard, rules for application standards, spatial reference model and terminology. GIS Service Standards include standards for data sharing such as metadata standard and transfer standard, quality standard, quality principle and portrayal standards.

  • Image retrieval system should be construct for searching fast, efficient image be extract the accurate feature information of image with more massive and more complex characteristics. Image retrieval system are essential differences between image databases and traditional databases. These differences lead to interesting new issues in searching of image, data modeling. So, cause us to consider new generation method of database, efficient retrieval method of image. In this paper, To extract feature information of edge using in searching from input image, we was performed to extract the edge by convolution Laplacian mask and input image, and we implemented the annotation-based and content-based image retrieval system for searching fast, efficient image by generation image database from extracting feature information of edge and metadata. We can improve the performance of the image contents retrieval, because the annotation-based and content-based image retrieval system is using image index which is made up of the content-based edge feature extract information represented in the low level of image and annotation-based edge feature information represented in the high level of image. As a conclusion, image retrieval system proposed in this paper is possible the accurate management of the accumulated information for the image contents and the information sharing and reuse of image because the proposed method do construct the image database by metadata.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss the implicit meaning of advertising content with highly persuasive language formats from a communication perspective and its interpretation process in relation to communication education, while simultaneously developing interpretative codes for media literacy education in modern society. For a successful discussion, I assumed the narrative content of advertising content that implements a special purpose as a general conversational act, and raised the issue anew that regularity exists for implicit semantic expressions. It also said that in order for media literacy education in the present society to proceed correctly, linguistic interpretations of implicit meaning cannot be guided as a principle of communication in prior research. As a solution, we confirm that socio-cultural sharing knowledge and recognition are essential interpretation codes. For further discussion, the analysis of advertising media languages with special purposes in terms of language usage was conducted to verify the process of interpreting the implicit meaning shown in them. After analyzing the implicit advertising language that I arbitrarily typified, I found that the linguistic meaning implicit with the intention of persuading the speaker can be provided mostly as media literacy education as a framework for analysis by various information and cognitive effects. In other words, acceptors should not perform only literal interpretations in the process of interpreting the implicit meaning inherent in the media language. If guided by including native language materials and background knowledge, socio-cultural customs, and general common knowledge, efficient media literacy education can be expected.
