  • As wireless connectivity is integrated into many handheld devices, streaming multimedia content among mobile ad-hoc peers is becoming a popular application. In this paper, we propose a dynamic service replication algorithm for providing guaranteed continuous streaming services to all nodes in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). First, a MANET is comprised of logical grid hierarchy, and a streaming service is replicated to a lower server region of the logical grid hierarchy by considering the link availability between a mobile node and the streaming server within a server region or the popularity of the streaming service. We evaluate analytically the performance of the proposed algorithm, and compared with that of existing Qin's algorithm. Evaluation results show that our algorithm can achieve better streaming performance than Qin's algorithm. Therefore, the proposed algorithm not only improves the sharing availability of replicated streaming services but also controls efficiently the number of streaming service replications.

  • Recently, the concept of mobile content service has changed from providing unilaterally contents for single-device to providing same contents for multi-device. This service should be able to provide diverse contents for multi-devices without platform and specification of multi-device. In this study, we propose a bridge technique of heterogeneous smart platform supporting social immersive game. It is possible to access social immersive game by using a multi-platform bridge. To achieve this, we explain techniques of device connection and data transmission between heterogeneous devices using server-client structure and UPnP. It provides an immersive game environment for multi-user, which is able to play in a public place using big screen.

  • SNS is perceived as an effective tool for sharing news and enabling news content to reach many more users than before. And some users think that SNS is an important source to get news. This study's purpose is to understand the key factors contributing to behavior of news consumption on social network sites in Cambodia and its influence. We identified three key factors including convenience, recency, and variety; however, recency showed less significant effect on news consumption on SNS. Besides the key factors, it also seeks to understand the impact of news consumption on social engagement and government's transparency in Cambodia. The analytical results achieved through the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach.

  • This study developed a model economic education program for young children related to Korean seasonal customs. The model was developed via literature reviews and survey research concerning teachers’' recognition of ‘'early childhood economic education’', consultations with professionals in the field, and testing and modifying the program. The goals of the model program were: teaching children to understand basic economic concepts, helping children to develop an economic attitude that emphasizes interdependence, and acknowledging the importance of eco-friendly economic values. The model includes three educational areas and 21 content areas including understanding the concept of exchange, sharing and cooperation, and circulation with nature. This study also developed 37 early childhood economic education activities using the teaching and learning methods of experiencing nature, virtual experience, real life experience, and traditional games experience.

  • In order to utilize okara protein as a food auditive, nutritional composition of soymilk okara was investigated. Protein in okara Is highly insoluble due to excessive heat treatment during soymilk processing. Protein content of okara was 37.3% as compared to 42.5 % for soybean. Carbohydrate and lipid contents of okara were 40.6% and 17.9%, respectively. Okara lipid extracted with chloroform-methanol consisted of neutral lipid, glycolipid and phospholipid, with neutral lipid making up 98.6% . Linoleic acid, ileic acid, and palmitic acids accounted for about 80% of the total fatty acids with linoleic acid sharing 50.3% of the total. Amino acid composition of okara protein was dissimilar to that of soy Protein : Cysteine was totally absent in okara while lysine, which is the limiting amino acid of soy protein, was present in higher amount in okara on dry weight basis. Both aqueous extract of okara protein and soy Protein were found to have ACE inhibitory activity.

  • The music industry of the digital age has witnessed seemingly endless battles involving copyright. Though continuous efforts to strengthen copyright under romantic understating have benefited major actors in the industry, it has threatened creativity and net activism in the digital age. This study argues rhetoric used by the industry regarding how file sharing and digital environments hurt music sales is inadequate. It has enabled the industry and its major labels to embolden copyright and protective legislation with the government's support. This article will reveal that the issue surrounding copyright under the romantic notion is not an outdated one confined to the early era of digital music This article will argue that major players in the industry are repeating the old strategic approach of controlling the music market. This is achieved by limiting practices of music audiences and future creativity such as the creation of amateur content and emergence of new business models.

  • The present study is a review to determine by what bodies and through what mechanisms the information resources management is implemented and administered, that is its content and how it is linked to industrial information units in the field of industrial firms. Industrial information units are lacking essential capabilities required to acquire internal information and to organize sharing information which is intergrated to internal and external information. Various units within firms work to implement the information resources management. These units include management information systems, information center, and newly developed mission oriented units. They have, however, developed without liasison industrial information units. They may be some unnecessary duplication in some spheres and inadequate facilities in others.

  • Purpose. To examine the effect of Taegyo-focused prenatal classes on maternal-fetal attachment and self-efficacy related to childbirth. Methods. Over 4 weeks, 49 women, 20 to 36 weeks of gestation participated in a prenatal program led by the nurse who developed it. In addition to Lamaze content it included; understanding ability of fetus to respond, sharing motivation, purpose of pregnancy, and preconceptions of experiencing childbirth, training in maternal-fetal interaction, writing letters and making a declaration of love to unborn baby. Using a pre-experimental design, data were collected by self-report, before and after program, using Cranley's Maternal-Fetal Attachment Scale (1981), and Shin's(1997) Labor Self-Efficacy Measurement. Results and Conclusion. Paired t-test showed significant changes in scores of maternal-fetal attachment (t=6.91. p<.001) and self-efficacy related to childbirth (t=10.19, p<.001). Taegyo opens the possibility of integrating Western ideas with Korean traditional health behavior. Incorporation of Taegyo into existing prenatal classes is recommended.

  • The multimedia community needs an environmental data representation and interchange mechanism which not only satisfies the requirements of today's systems, but can be extended to meet future data sharing needs. This mechanism must allow for the standard representation of, and access to data. The SEDRIS STF(SEDRIS Transmittal Format)provides environment data users and producers with a clearly defined interchange specification. In this paper I develop data converter commercial data(3DS MAX) format to standard interchange format and vice verse without losing semantic of information content using SEDRIS standard interchange format.

  • A multitude of overlay network designs for resilient routing, multicasting, quality of service, content distribution, storage, and object location have been proposed. Overlay networks offer several attractive features, including ease of deployment, flexibility, adaptivity, and an infrastructure for collaboration among hosts. In this paper, we explore cooperation among co-existing, possibly heterogeneous, overlay networks. We discuss a spectrum of cooperative forwarding and information sharing services, and investigate the associated scalability, heterogeneity, and security problems. Motivated by these services, we design Synergy, a utility-based overlay internetworking architecture that fosters overlay cooperation. Our architecture promotes fair peering relationships to achieve synergism. Results from Internet experiments with cooperative forwarding overlays indicate that our Synergy prototype improves delay, throughput, and loss performance, while maintaining the autonomy and heterogeneity of individual overlay networks.
