  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of perceived market influence, which is an important psychological factor influencing consumer behavior in the market, and explain how consumer beliefs related to the market can affect sustainable consumer behavior. First, this study found that gaps in perceived market influence were statistically significant for age and job. Second, environmental concern, organic food consumption (vegetables and meats), and purchase behavior of organic foods were found to be significantly different by degree of perceived market influence of consumers. The mean values were found to be high for the group having strong perceived market influence. This tendency suggests an association between higher perceived market influence consumers and more environmentally friendly consumer behavior. Lastly, this study used Structural Equation Modeling to analyze the effect of perceived market influence as a moderating variable and mediating variable on the relationship between environmental concerns and consumer behavior toward organic foods. The results show a mediating effect on perceived market influence, but a moderating effect could not be found. This result implies that perceived market influence might indirectly affect consumer behavior when transferring environmental concerns to consumer behavior toward organic foods.

  • Purpose: Consumers have unique behaviors that are classified based on their interests and considerations before buying. They are predicted will change due to the pandemic of COVID-19. This study provides insights for retailers about the dynamic of consumer behavior before and during the pandemic, including future predictions. Research design, data and methodology: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement was applied in this study. Seven studies that were selected from five databases meet the criteria for cohort and cross-sectional analyses of gender, age, store types, and environmental concerns. Results: Consumer's gender and age contribute to consumer behavior change. Both offline and online stores can be integrated as omnichannel rather than substitute each other. Product distribution and consumer budget need to be reevaluated by retailers, while internet security is the most essential factor when developing their online transactions. Conclusions: COVID-19 pandemic has a significant impact on changing consumer behavior in most countries. Retailers are encouraged to adapt to the changes by modifying their business model with technology. However, it is still speculated and cannot be generalized due to different cultural and contextual factors. Future studies are always needed to synchronize along with the transition of consumers' behavior.

Subjects of this study consisted of 176 adolescents drawn from 8 social-welfare institutions in Chungbuk province. The pilot study was done to examine the applicability of survey instrument. Data were analyzed by the frequency, percentage, Pearson correlation, stepwise regression using SPSS/WIN program. The results were as followings: 1. There was statistically correlated with each other in environmental high-risk and protective factors except an housing environment. The results implies that environmental contexts itself surrounding adolescents in low-income families can be either high-risk factors or protective factors. 2. The adolescents in low-income families perceived that stresses from consumer and school environments were high-risk factors among other environmental contexts. 3. The adolescents in low-income families perceived that resources from friend and school were protective factors among other environmental contexts. 4. The stresses from friend and eating behaviors were significant factors predicting adolescents'relative psychological adjustment. However, the behavioral adjustment was not predicted by environmental contexts. 5. The resources from school, consumer, and eating behaviors were significant factors predicting adolescents'relative psychological adjustment. Also, the resources from school, eating behavior, and family were predictors of behavioral adjustment. This research implies that the findings can be based on the development of prevention program for adolescents deviant behaviors in low-income families.

  • This study tried to verify the effect of situational consumer animosity on consumer attitudes and behaviors with the moderating effect of cultural internalization. For this purpose, 460 valid survey data were collected from Koreans. The causal and regulatory relationships between the variables were analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis and structural model analysis using AMOS with the collected data. It was confirmed that the national situational animosity had a negative effect on quality evaluation, while personal situational animosity did not. Also, the positive relationship between quality evaluation and purchase intention was confirmed. In addition, it was found that internalization of individual culture moderates the effect of quality evaluation on purchase intention.

  • This study examines the relationship between customer satisfaction and management response in the hotel industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic. By applying regression analysis and topic modeling to consumer reviews on online platforms, we assess how consumer perceptions and management behaviors have shifted since the onset of the pandemic. The findings reveal a significant decline in customer satisfaction linked to COVID-19. Significantly, while the pandemic has reduced overall customer satisfaction levels, high response rates and high review-response content similarity mitigate the impact of the crises. These results highlight the critical need for hotel managers to continuously monitor online reviews and adapt their engagement strategies to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction during ongoing and future crises. This research not only corroborates existing theories on customer satisfaction but also exposes novel dynamics introduced by the pandemic, offering new insights for effective customer relationship management in turbulent times.

  • Purpose - As the importance of salesperson attitudes and behaviors enhancing customer perception and loyalty have increased, many retail companies put emphasis on internal marketing activities. The issue also has captured the interest of academics, but most of the previous research tends to be limited to investigating antecedents of salesperson job satisfaction and commitment. Based on the consumer-brand relationship concepts, this study aims to examine the effects of the salesperson-brand relationships on customers' service evaluation and store loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology - In a structural equation model, it is hypothesized that salesperson brand identification influences salespersons' brand trust and affect, which are the two dimensions of consumer-brand relationships. Salespersons' brand trust and affect are expected to increase salespersons' customer orientation, which in turn influences customers' service evaluations and store loyalty. To test this hypotheses a set of data collected from department stores in Seoul is utilized. Results - First, it was found that salesperson brand identification is a significant antecedent to salespersons' brand trust and affects, the two dimensions of salesperson brand relationships. Second, salespersons' brand trust and affect were found to enhance salespersons' customer-oriented behaviors. Third, salespersons' customer orientation showed a significant effect on customers' service evaluation. When a salesperson makes more effort to provide useful information for fulfilling customer needs, customers evaluate the salesperson's service more positively. Finally, customers' service evaluation had a positive impact on customers' store loyalty. Conclusions - This study provides significant academic and practical implications. First, based on the theory of consumer-brand relationships, the concept of salesperson-brand relationships was introduced and found to be an effective motivator of salespersons' customer oriented attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, the two dimensions of brand relationships, brand trust and affect, should be considered as the critical factors both in developing theoretical research and improving long-term company performance. Also, internal marketing activities should focus on maximizing employees' brand identification. That is, retail companies need to put emphasis on sharing their brand values and personality with internal customers to strengthen the brand relationships with salespersons and to enhance customer responses.

  • This report gathers data on current catalogue and online order market in the apparel products in order to: 1) identify the current status and critical issues in this area, and 2) identify the differences between the department store markets and the domestic markets on catalogue and online order. In addition, it collected the information on consumer shopping behaviors through surveys in both Korea and the U.S., in order to: 1) compare the consumer behaviors between both countries, and 2) identify any correlations with demographic factors such as sex, age, marriage status, income, education. This was discovered by means of the collected data that in Korea there were the problefls related to the apparel products and the apparel size specification, and related to the p.c.-network. Also in Korea the department store companies do not have properly worked out size specifications and are more likely to use 'freesize' categories, while in the U.S. and Europe the reverse was found and the size specification gave more detailed information. Results of the questionnaire suggested that the U.S. was superior in the almost part of questionnaires especially in terms of the user's experience and satisfaction with catalogue & online order in apparel. Additionally, the U.S. had 2.5 times more catalogues and online sites and those were more frequently used compared to those in Korea. The consumer shopping behaviors in Korea showed a correlation with sex, age, job, marriage status and income. And there were significant correlations with education, sex and income in the U.S.

Main findings were as following: First, visitors had rather positive confidence with informations in anti-sites. Second, visitors thought that anti-sites were working rather well in implementing consumer movement by sharing their experiences, and by supporting complaining space in cyber. Visitors, however, thought that anti-sites were not working well as a space for companies, not by giving their attentions on consumers' complains. Third, the satisfaction level of visitors was found to be rather high in terms of informations in anti-sites, and to be rather low in terms of companies' attentions on anti-sites and management of anti-sites. Based on results, some suggestions of activating anti-site for promoting consumer rights were as following: First, visitors should not only get information, but support new and useful informations for others. And also it was suggested that visitors should join consumer movement through anti-site actively. Second, companies should pay attentions on anti-sites for their sake because anti-sites could give very useful information improving customer satisfaction, and finally reducing cost and increasing profit.
