In an era where construction projects are becoming increasingly large and complex, the Korean construction industry faces the challenge of implementing systematic and cohesive schedule management practices. This study initially delineates the concept of schedule management capabilities, systematically categorizing them into five distinct domains: law and regulations, requirements of project owners, capabilities of professionals and organizations, task capability, and the adoption of smart construction technologies for schedule management. Through a survey targeting industry professionals, this research assesses the perceived importance and the actual proficiency level in schedule management across these categories, employing an Importance Performance Analysis(IPA) to scrutinize these capabilities. The findings underscore the acknowledged significance of diverse aspects of schedule management, yet reveal discrepancies between the current proficiency levels and their perceived importance, pinpointing areas necessitating enhancement. Critical improvement needs identified encompass the planning of budgets for schedule management, development of regulations for assessing construction periods, deployment of specialized on-site staff for schedule management, and investment in advanced schedule management software solutions. Consequently, this study offers a nuanced analysis and strategic insights for enhancing schedule management practices, aiming to facilitate their effective implementation in the field.

The purpose of this research was to propose policy directions for the design and construction of nature-friendly park facilities (PF) in national parks. In order to do that, nature-friendliness evaluation indicators(NEIs) used in green building rating systems and related articles were reviewed. After the initial literature review was complete, NEIs for park facilities based on location, design, construction, operation, and management sectors were developed. Data was obtained through a questionnaire completed by 79 managers at 19 national parks in Korea in 2008. The answers were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, a t-test, a multi-dimensional analysis, and a factor analysis. This research found that: 1) The results indicated that based on relative weight calculation, the location condition was evaluated as the most important; 2) The evaluation results regarding the degree of nature-friendliness of park facilities showed that location condition was ranked higher than design and construction--in addition, the evaluated values of indicators related to energy efficiency were ranked the lowest; 3) the level of nature-friendliness of shelter was given the highest level, but resting facility was the lowest level; 4) Overall, park facilities at Mt. Seorak, Mt. Odae, and Taean Coast national parks showed high levels of nature-friendliness. But park facilities at Mt. Gyeongju and Mt. Songni national parks showed low levels of nature-friendliness. The results of this research shall contribute to the establishment of tailor-made management policies, the development of detailed guidelines for increased energy efficiency and visitor satisfaction, and the preservation of ecosystems and natural resources in Korea's national parks.

A small hydro-power plant using the seawater used as the cooling (circulated) water and discharged is under construction. The bigger size of the small hydro-power plant, the better in order to maximize the efficiency and the electric power. The optimal size, however, should be determined in the constraints of the channel un-disturbed range. The water level change should be checked in detail based on the hydraulic behaviour. In this study, the FLOW3D model, three-dimensional flow model, is setup using the flow measurement data in the effluent discharge channel and the flow pattern changes due to the small hydro-power plant construction are predicted by the model. The plant construction makes the increasing of the water level, and the water level in the upstream of the channel weir is increased 65 cm from 4.32 m to 4.97 m, in the condition of the design discharge $156m^3/s$ and the movable weir height of the hydro-power plant 3.8 m.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the knowledge and ability levels of middle school students in four areas: conceptual understanding, argument construction, justification schemes, and use of scientific knowledge in a causal explanation for a genetic phenomenon. A group of 162 middle school students who have taken a class titled Genetics and Evolution participated in the study. Each student answered-and justified the answer to-one question pertaining to genetics. Ability levels were rated from level 0 to level 4, with 4 being the top rating. Students were required to choose one of two competing arguments to explain whether green seed pimps and red seed pimps of the same size and shape were the same species or not. Analyzing conceptual understanding: 47% of the respondents provided the correct answer. Analyzing their abilities for constructing an argument: 75% of the students with the correct answer and 42% of the students with the incorrect answer were evaluated to be at ability level 3 or 4 for argument construction. Analyzing the students' justification schemes: "Scientific idea" and "Analogy" were the most frequently used schemes. Analyzing their use of scientific knowledge: of the students who selected the scientific idea justification scheme, 36% used the correct scientific knowledge, but the remainder used inaccurate or nonspecific scientific knowledge. These findings provide implication for encouraging argumentative writing explaining scientific phenomena regarding epistemic practice.

Ever since China adopted a free market economy, it has been basking in unprecedented economic growth. It has now emerged as one of the most promising markets in the world for the near future. The purpose of this study was to investigate of Chinese and Korea college female students's cognitive body type and to suggest basic informations for high quality clothing merchandising for china export. The subjects in this study were 430 college female students, aged from 18 to 24 living in Beijing(215) and Seoul(215). The survey were taken from June to July, 1999. SAS(Statistical Analysis System) is used for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, χ²-test. The results of this study are as follows. The 90% of Chinese collge female students has under 4000 yuan for monthly income, and they consume less than 1000 yuan for clothing purchasing for one year. About 42% chinese students are interested in controlling of physical body shape. The Korean college female students has from 1,000,000 won to 10,000,000 won for monthly income, and the 84% of them consume less than 1,000,000 for clothing purchasing for one year. It represents of economical difference between China and Korea. Examination on the Korean and Chinese self-perception on obesity of the body as a whole showed that both groups perceived themselves as normal or slightly overweight. More Korean respondents regarded their weight as normal than the Chinese did. The Chinese female college students perceived themselves rather overweight, and held a lower satisfaction level about their physical construction. While the Korean female college students showed low satisfaction level about specific bodily parts, they held a normal level of satisfaction about their physical construction as a whole. It is noteworthy that more Chinese respondents generally held lower satisfaction impressions about their physical construction than their Korean counterparts. It is needed to different merchandising project for export clothing in China.
The Small and Medium Business Administration specified 123 construction materials mandatory to purchase directly and forced the public owners to provide the contractors with materials as required by related law. This study extensively reviewed various characteristics and management factors of the owner-providing materials consumed in the public apartment housing under Direct Buying System(DBS) from the public owner's perspective. Subsequently, the major managed materials were identified, and the proper response plan was developed along the material procurement process. The Procurement Management Load Indices (PMLI) of 43 materials were evaluated according to rating criteria with procurement path, project-specified level, user requirement level, supplier's responsibility, on-site work requirement, additional parts, and inspection standards. The tile and aluminum windows were classified in the group needing high-level procurement efforts to reduce the errors and ensure the efficiency. The accurate quantity estimation method, definite purchase details, management activity definition before and after production, additional quantity for rework, interference coordination were defined as the essential activities for effectively responding to DBS.

Background: Reactor pressure vessel (RV) with internals (RVI) are activated structures by neutron irradiation and volume contaminated wastes. Thus, to develop safe and optimized disposal plan for them at a disposal site, it is important to perform exact activation calculation and evaluate the dose rate on the surface of casks which contain cut-off pieces. Materials and Methods: RV and RVI are subjected to neutron activation calculation via Monte Carlo methodology with MCNP6 and ORIGEN-S program-neutron flux, isotopic specific activity, and gamma spectrum calculation on each component of RV and RVI, and dose rate evaluation with MCNP6. Results and Discussion: Through neutron activation analysis, dose rate is evaluated for the casks containing cut-off pieces produced from decommissioned RV and RVI. For RV cut-off ones, the highest value of dose rate on the surface of cask is 6.97 × 10-1 mSv/hr and 2 m from it is 3.03 × 10-2 mSv/hr. For RVI cut-off ones, on the surface of it is 0.166 × 10-1 mSv/hr and 2 m from it is 1.04 × 10-1 mSv/hr. Dose rates for various RV and RVI cut-off pieces distributed lower than the limit except the one of 2 m from the cask surface of RVI. It needs to adjust contents in cask which carries highly radioactive components in order to decrease thickness of cask. Conclusion: Two types of casks are considered in this paper: box type for very-low-level waste (VLLW) as well as low-level waste (LLW) and cylinder type for intermediate-level waste (ILW). The results will contribute to the development of optimal loading plans for RV and RVI cut-off pieces during the decommissioning of nuclear power plant that can be used to prepare radioactive waste disposal plans for the different types of wastes-ILW, LLW, and VLLW.

Precise estimation of a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic responses during lifetime especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. In this paper, the results of forced vibration tests of different excitation methods (vibration exciter and impact hammer) are compared to examine the differences and the cause of differences of extracted natural frequencies. Consequently a natural frequency modification method is suggested to eliminate effects of non-structural disturbance factors. Also, sequential forced vibration tests are performed before and after track construction according to the construction stage of a railway bridge, and the variation of natural frequencies are examined. Effect of added mass of vibration exciter and variation of support condition due to the level of excitation force are concluded as the major cause of natural frequency differences. Thus eliminating these effects can enhance the reliability of the extracted natural frequencies. Construction of track affects not only the mass of structure but also the stiffness of the structure. Also, the amount of increase in stiffness varies according to the level of structural deflection. Therefore, reasonable estimation of the level of structural response during operation is important for precise natural frequency calculation at design phase.

This paper is a basic study to improve floor impact noise of reinforced concrete slabs. Considering the case where thickness differences occur due to construction, changes in sound insulation characteristics were analyzed when the cross section of a reinforced concrete slab was restored with mortar. The houses subject to analysis were divided into two types, 84 type and 59 type, with different floor plans. When pre-mortaring was done with heavy mortar to restore the cross section on the reinforced concrete slab, the case was when pre-mortaring was done with the reinforced concrete slab alone and with general mortar. Compared with, the difference between vibration acceleration level and sound pressure was measured. As a result of measuring the vibration acceleration level of the slab after pouring the mortar, the CS mortar was 66.4 dB and the ES mortar was 66.1 dB at 84 type 63 Hz, which was more than 2 dB lower than that of regular mortar. In addition, compared to the reinforced concrete slab alone, CS mortar was reduced by 5.5 dB and ES mortar was reduced by 4.6 dB, showing relatively excellent values. As for the floor impact sound pressure, the 84B type was similar at 63 Hz for CS mortar and general mortar at 67.3 dB, and the reduction compared to the reinforced concrete slab alone was 3.6 dB for CS mortar, 2.7 dB for ES mortar, and 2.7 dB for general mortar was reduced by 1.4 dB. By pouring mortar to compensate for the thickness of the reinforced concrete slab, the vibration acceleration level and floor impact noise were reduced, and when a heavy mortar using copper smelting slag fine aggregate was used, relatively excellent performance was found.

Geostatistical methods were used for the groundwater flow analysis on the ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ tunnel area. Linear regression analysis shows that the topographic elevation and ground water level of this area have very high correlation. Groundwater-level contour maps produced by ordinary kriging and cokriging have little differences in mountain areas. But, comparing two maps on the basis of an elevation contour map, a groundwater-level contour map using cokring is more accurate. Analyzing the groundwater flow on two groundwater-level contour maps, the groundwater of study area flows from the north-west mountain areas to near valleys, and from the peak of the mountain to outside areas. In the design steps, the groundwater-level distribution is reasonably considered in the tunnel construction area by cokriging approach. And, geostatistics will provide quantitative information in the unknown groundwatrer-level area.
