The performance of the construction project is to be evaluated within 60 days of completion, according to relevant laws. It evaluates cost, construction period, design change, re-construction, safety, etc. for each project stage. And the project owners are inputting the evaluation results of the construction work into the construction project information system(CALS). The post-evaluation result information entered in this way can be referred to in the basic design of the construction project by referring to the related contents if there is a similar construction in the future. And It can also be used to predict and respond to the required period and cost by analyzing the accumulated data. In this study, in order to provide reference data that can be used in similar projects in the future, the latest analysis methods are reviewed and the possibility of future application is considered. Accordingly, this study intends to focus on the construction cost part among the indicators such as construction cost, construction period, design change, and re-construction that are currently being dealt with in post evaluation.

성과측정은 체계적인 관리와 개선을 위한 중요한 활동이다. 건설산업에서도 성과측정을 위한 지표 개발 등의 다양한 연구가 꾸준히 진행되어왔다. 하지만 성과측정을 위한 데이터 수집에 큰 노력이 필요하여 실제로 성과측정이 수행되는 경우는 적었다. 특히 제도를 통해 건설 프로젝트 데이터를 수집해 온 우리나라 공공부문과 달리 민간부문에서는 프로젝트의 성과를 파악할 수 있는 데이터가 전무한 실정이다. 한편, 우리나라는 건설공사 감리를 통해 건축현장 시공단계에서의 품질, 안전 등을 총체적으로 확인하는 제도를 갖추고 있다. 감리 과정에서 건축현장의 성과를 파악할 수 있는 중요 데이터가 생성되고 감리보고서는 「건축법」에 따라 제출이 의무화되어 있다. 본 연구는 민간 건축현장의 성과측정을 위해 감리보고서의 데이터를 활용하고자 한다. 선행연구와 감리보고서를 분석하여 예비성과지표를 선별하고 전문가 인터뷰를 통해 건축현장의 6가지 성과영역과 15개 성과지표를 도출하였다. 다음으로 전문가 설문조사를 실시하여 성과지표의 데이터 수집 가능성을 검증하였고, 성과영역 및 성과지표의 중요도를 도출하였다. 감리보고서 데이터를 기반으로 도출된 본 연구의 성과지표는 앞으로 민간 건축부문의 성과측정의 실효성을 높일 것으로 기대된다.

The construction industry is an integral part of any nation's economy, whether measured by dollar volume or workforce size. In spite of its strong influence, there has been very little specifically aimed at evaluating the current industry performance. This research investigates the macroeconomic performance of the construction industry by accounting for crucial performance affecting factors such as labor productivity and gross margin. A clustering analysis, followed by a series of statistical analyses, yielded a notable finding that labor productivity is the most important factor that affects industry's profitability. The results of the analysis also revealed that the states with the strongest labor productivity show the highest level of profitability in terms of gross margin. This study should be of value to decision-makers when plotting a roadmap for future growth and rendering a strategic business decision.

The government has performed various countermeasures and policies for the efficiency of Construction Industry. However the analysis of the policy performance is not satisfied. In the study we benchmarked the construction performance evaluation system and indicators which was performed by advanced countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. So we suggested indicators for measuring performance of public construction cost saving strategy performed in 2008 by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. This paper will provide the basis for establishing future construction policies or plans.

Markov chains and Monte Carlo Simulation were applied to account for the probabilistic nature of pavement deterioration over time using data collected in the field. The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate pavement network performance of Western Australia (WA) by applying the existing pavement management tools relevant to WA road construction networks. Two approaches were used to analyze the pavement networks: evaluating current pavement performance data to assess WA State Road networks and predicting the future states using past and current pavement data. The Markov chains process and Monte Carlo Simulation methods were used to predicting future conditions. The results indicated that Markov chains and Monte Carlo Simulation prediction models perform well compared to pavement performance data from the last four decades. The results also revealed the impact of design, traffic demand, and climate and construction standards on urban pavement performance. This study recommends an appropriate and effective pavement engineering management system for proper pavement design and analysis, preliminary planning, future pavement maintenance and rehabilitation, service life, and sustainable pavement construction functionality.

Poor project performance has been noted as the bane in the construction industry globally. This paper sought to investigate, by way of literature, the performance patterns of construction projects in Kenya since independence (1963-2018). This was informed by reports of undesirable project performance in the industry. This descriptive study used available studies previously done in this subject area. In sum, literature is replete with evidence on a myriad of challenges facing the execution of projects. The study established that generally, the project performance is poor and has assumed a chronic trajectory spanning over five decades. On average, the findings reveal that 35-60% of projects initiated in Kenya face cost overruns while time overrun is most severe with 35-73% projects overrunning their schedule. In addition, the findings problematize the issue of plurality of performance measurement regimes in the construction industry. Here, it was observed that no singular construct exists to objectively measure the various facets that constitute the 'health' of a project. This paper has contributed to the body of knowledge by examining the performance patterns in Kenya for over fifty years while at the same time identifying the bottlenecks inherent in projects execution. Importantly, the conceptual performance efficiency framework derived in the current study presents a paradigm shift in the monitoring and evaluation of projects. To this end, an in-depth analysis is recommended on the interaction of efficiency enablers in the buildup of performance efficiency index (PEI). Similarly, a further inquiry is recommended on the integration and impact of the proposed framework in the management of projects.

The use of inappropriate procurement methods to deliver construction projects has long been acknowledged as a major source of poor project performance and is particularly problematic for the Libyan Construction Industry. Poor procurement method selection has been recognised as a major contributory factor to frequent time and cost overruns. This paper offers a way of selecting specific procurement methods to maximize successful project performance. The methodology involves an intensive review of relevant literature, followed by a semi-structured questionnaire survey. The key findings of the study reveal that 11 out of its 12 common selection criteria exhibit a significant contribution to one or more project performance criteria (time, cost and quality). Project clients should therefore prioritise these criteria when selecting a design-bid-build method. Knowledge of the criteria that contribute positively to project performance will also enable clients to work out, prior to and during construction, the best measures and provisions for successful project outcomes.

The goal setting and performance measurement is essential tool for performance management. If appropriate goal setting and performance measurement is not done, problems may arise in the management. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency of building production that management is essential. In addition, the construction project objectives established at the planning phase give considerable influence on the success of the construction project. Therefore, objective of this paper is to suggest the necessity of performance goal setting phase. This paper analyzes problems of goal setting phase and suggests the way to improve about problems.

The purpose of this study is to develop the web-based system for work performance analysis(WPAS). The need of work performance analysis system has already been suggested in many previous researches on the computerization of the performance measurement in the construction site by using the indicators such as time, cost and quality. However, they had focused on measuring or analyzing the result when the project would be over. The WPAS suggests three indicators - work reliability, work effectiveness and work efficiency - to manage the performance of the construction site. It can help the manager more easily recognize the status of on-going work in the construction site by measuring and analyzing the work reliability rate, the work effectiveness and work efficiency every day. This research includes the procedures for WPAS measurement process, database structure of WPAS which was analyzed by the IDEF0 and the data flow diagram. Finally, this research introduces the result of WAPS's case studies and validation in the Korean construction site.

Indicators measuring performance and the level of informatization of construction companies have recently been developed. Construction companies' investment in informatization, however, is still relatively low compared to that of other companies in different industries, since it has been difficult in quantifying the effect of informatization on total performance. This study, therefore, conducted an industry survey using indicators provided by previous studies, and used them to calculate performance and informatization indices for construction companies. Finally, it suggested a quantitative analysis of the effect of informatization on these companies' performance.
