A Study on the Noise Reduction of Construction Equipment's Muffler with the High Velocity Flow (유동소음을 고려한 건설장비용 머플러의 저소음화 연구)

  • The exhaust system, including a muffler, is one of the major sources to generate the radiated noise of construction equipment. The muffler is generally known that it reduces the exhaust noise level, but it sometimes increases the noise level because of the flow effect inside a muffler. So, it is required to consider the flow effect inside a muffler to reduce the exhaust noise level of construction equipment. In this paper, an experimental method to consider a quantitative flow effect inside a muffler was set up through a series of tests. Finally, the experimental result was verified through the flow noise analysis using CFD analysis result. These results make it possible to understand the dynamic characteristics of the flow noise and to design the low noise muffler for the construction equipment.

  • Recently, with the increasing of construction works, large construction equipment are used to reduce the term of work and labor cost in construction field. Therefore, construction equipment noise has caused much annoyance for a number of dweller in nearby construction field and it has become a very serious problem in our living environment. Neverthless, in our country, adequite guidelines for the construction equipment noise are very deficiency because of the lack of basic data and insufficient research works. From this point of view, this study attempts to survey the vertical SPL distribution of piling noise by oil pressure method in construction field. This study also present a basic data found a effective plans for piling noise by oil pressure method.

  • With the improvement of living quality, people's desire for quiet living environment keeps increasing. In particular, complaints about the noise emission by constrcution equipments around residential areas take most part of the noise related complaints. In this study, based on the European Directive/20n/14/EC, noise marking obligation system for the high noise construction equipment of Europe has been reviewed to implement the similar system in Korea.

Assessment of Annoyance cause by Different Types of Construction Noises (건설공사장 소음의 위해성 평가)

  • In the present study, annoyance caused by diverse construction noises was evaluated through surveys and laboratory experiments. A survey with a total of 110 construction workers was carried out to investigate annoyance from construction noises at different construction phases. The most effective item of adverse by construction noise was annoyance and the most annoyed construction stage was destruction construction. Between work performance and work safety had correlation as well as between work safety and speech interference. Participant's noise sensitivity were significant between low and high group at work performance, work safety, speech interference.

  • Recently, With the increase of income level, many people desire to have agreeable and quiet surrounding. However, the extent and time of the exposure to construction noise and vibration is increasing, which is a factor that ruins the quietness of the surrounding and increasingly raises interests in its effects. In this point, this study attempts to survey the characteristics of construction vibration by SD(Sand drain) method in construction field. In addition, the result of study is presumed to be usable as the fundamental materials for an efficient counter-plan in case of the public resentment in relations to the construction vibration occurring henceforth.

  • Vibration and vibration-induced noise, major sources of occupant complaint, are increasing in modern buildings, Lighter weight construction and equipment located in penthouses or intermediate level mechanical rooms increase structure-bone vibration and noise transmission. In this paper discusses about testing vibration isolation systems and about the effectness of floor flexibility for vibration transmission.
