Condition-based maintenance (CBM) has been used as a useful concept for optimizing maintenance plan and decreasing maintenance cost in several kinds of plant sites. This study introduced an example that developed an integrated management system for maintenance parameters and hydraulic turbine of hydro-power plant in order to improve its maintenance system as applying CBM techinique. The integrated management system consists of three parts. One is a hardware part including PDA inspection system and several kind of precision measuring instruments. Another is a vibration monitoring system on hydraulic turbine. The other is a software part that takes charge of making hierarchy tree of maintenance parameters and their inspection route, managing accumulated database, assessing health condition of components, and supporting interface with other enterprise management system. The system has been installed at Chuncheon Hydro-power plant for test and demonstration. It is expected that the system can contribute database construction for diagnostics and prognostics on facility health condition and systematic accumulation of know-how on operation and maintenance of plant.

The subject of the national new Technology certification system is in which domestic enterprise have competition above international market. Rep. of the korea Government, Ministry of Information and communication(MIC), Ministry of science and technology(MOST), Ministry of Commerce, Industry and energy(MOCIE), ministry of Construction and Transportation(MOCT), Ministry of Marin and fishery(MOAf) excutive the certification Regulations. These Ministry have the new Technology certification rules each of the scope of the their main job. These rules same the subject, proposal qualification and the property, but difference certification reference. So, this article suggestions about new Technology certification system.

As environmental concerns including climate change drive the strong regulations for car exhaust emissions, electric vehicles attract the public eye. The purpose of this study is to identify rural areas vulnerable for charging infrastructures based on the spatial distributions of the current gas stations and provide the target dissemination rates for promoting electric cars. In addition, we develop various scenarios for finding optimal way to expand the charging infrastructures through the administrative districts data including 11,677 gas stations, the number of whole national gas stations. Gas stations for charging infrastructures are randomly selected using the Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method. Evaluation criteria for vulnerability assessment include five considering the characteristic of rural areas. The optimal penetration rate is determined to 21% in rural areas considering dissemination efficiency. To reduce the vulnerability, the charging systems should be strategically installed in rural areas considering geographical characteristics and regional EV demands.

Many researches and analyses have been focused on industrial accidents in order to predict and reduce them. As a similar endeavor, this paper is to develop an expert system for prevention of industrial accidents. Although various previous studies have been performed to prevent industrial accidents, these studies only provide managerial and educational policies using frequency analysis and comparative analysis based on data from past industrial accidents. As an initial step for the purpose of this study, this paper provides a comparative analysis of 4 kinds of algorithms including CHAID, CART, C4.5, and QUEST. Decision tree algorithm is utilized to predict results using objective and quantified data as a typical technique of data mining. Enterprise Miner of SAS and Answer Tree of SPSS will be used to evaluate the validity of the results of the four algorithms. The sample for this work was chosen from 10,536 data related to manufacturing industries during three years$(2002\sim2004)$ in korea. The initial sample includes a range of different businesses including the construction and manufacturing industries, which are typically vulnerable to industrial accidents.

The public-private cooperation in package deal has been studied for the overseas energy resources acquisition. The effectiveness of the package deal has not been successful because the deal has led by the government organizations. It is difficult for the plant EPC companies to join the packaged deal due to the lack of the whole responsibility organization to support the participation of the package deal. The followings are suggested as the ways to strengthen of the public-private cooperation in this study. 1) the relevant public enterprise privatization 2) establishment of the joint model for leading the plant EPC companies to the package deal 3) establishment of the whole responsibility organization for the public-private cooperation.

In the information society, individual, enterprise and nation must be equipped with environmment and competence with which they can acquire useful information anytime and anywhere to process and utilize it in required form. Therefore, this study intends to investigate how digital TV, refrigerator and computer are laid out in the residential space in terms of life space, analyze the preference of residents an d forecast the preferred functions of the products to be introduced in the future. To build frame for making questionnaire tool of this survey, 3 households of the first constructor among the top-ranked constructors in the first half of 2004 were chose and in-depth interview was made from April 12 to April 17. On the basis of result of preliminary survey obtained by this process, the questionnaire was revised and supplemented. Targeting those living at the apartment house in Seoul and constructors ranked in top-four in the order of construction of the first half of 2004, I selected 3 households for each group in the range of 30$^{\sim}$40 pyung. Twelve cases were surveyed from April 19, 2004 to June 5, 2004. First, TV will continue playing the role of central entertainment mustering family at one place rather than separating them to each room. Second, in the case of refrigerator, the function is being subdivided, making 2 types, refrigerator and kimchi refrigerator indispensable, which was in just unit in the past Third, while computer was usually placed in the individual bedroom,

Many aspects of the behavior of sands are affected by the content of non-plastic fine particles and these various aspects should be included in a constitutive model for the soil behavior. The fines content affects maximum and minimum void ratios, compressibility, shear strength, and static liquefaction under undrained conditions. Twenty-eight undrained triaxial compression tests were performed on mixtures of sand and fine particles with fines contents of 0, 10, 20, 30, 50, 75, and 100% to study the effects of fines on void ratio, compressibility, and the occurrence of static liquefaction. The experiments were performed at low consolidation pressures at which liquefaction may occur in near-surface, natural deposits. The presence of fines creates a particle structure in the soil that is highly compressible, enhancing the potential for liquefaction, and the fines also alter the basic stress-strain and volume change behavior, which should be modeled to predict the occurrence of static liquefaction in the field. The void ratio at which liquefaction occurs for each sand/fines mixture was determined, and the variation of compressibility with void ratio was determined for each mixture. This allowed a relation to be determined between fines content, void ratio, compressibility, and the occurrence of static liquefaction. Such relations may vary from sand to sand, but the present results are believed to indicate the trend in such relations.

The medium and small logistic companies that have an outsourcing contract from the large corporation are encountered with a problem to introduce the ERP system to their current business environment due to following risk of change in current business environment, high cost involved in investment, and lack of understanding of business requirement of ERP. Instead of build their own ERP system, the small and medium logistic companies are using the large corporation's ERP system and get the benefit of efficiency in management and control process. Therefore, it is more like the organization hierarchy, not collaboration between the medium and small companies with the large corporation. In this study, the survey method to find out how the medium and small logistic companies understand the importance of ERP system on continuous growth of business by AHP. as result, they are recognized. The benefit of the ERP system as having much effect on business competitiveness.
