Approximated Constrained Least Squares Filter for Real-Time Directionally Adaptive Image Restoration (제약적 최소 제곱 필터의 근사화를 이용한 실시간 방향 적응적 영상복원)

  • In this paper we present approximated constrained least squares filter for real-time directionally adaptive image restoration. The proposed method makes a hardware implementation easier for real-time image restoration because of reducing the filter size. Furthermore, for directional adaptive image restoration, this paper estimates the local orientation by analyzing the covariance matrix and applies to approximated constrained least squares filter. Experimental results show that the proposed method is sharper and less artifacts than existing methods.

  • This paper presents an iterative adaptive hybrid image restoration algorithm for fast convergence. The local variance, mean, and maximum value are used to constrain the solution space. These parameters are computed at each iteration step using partially restored image at each iteration, and they are used to impose the degree of local smoothness on the solution. The resulting iterative algorithm exhibits increased convergence speed and better performance than typical regularized constrained least squares (RCLS) approach.

  • 본 논문에서는 다항식 보간법의 일종인 이동최소자승법(Moving least squares, MLS)을 네트워크로 학습하여, Divergence-constrained MLS 벡터장을 효율적으로 표현하는 방법을 제안한다. 벡터장을 구성하기 위해 MLS는 스칼라가 아닌 벡터 보간을 해야 하므로 행렬과 벡터의 크기가 더 커지며, 이는 계산량이 커짐을 나타낸다. 고차 보간(High-order interpolation)이 가능한 특징은 장점이 되지만, 계산량이 매우 크기 때문에 시뮬레이션에는 활용이 어렵다. Divergence-constrained MLS를 유체 시뮬레이션에 적용한 경우가 있지만, 실제로 슈퍼컴퓨터(Supercomputer)를 해야 장면 제작이 가능하므로 효용성이 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 네트워크 학습을 통한 Divergence-constrained MLS 벡터장을 표현할 수 있는 결과를 보여준다.

  • In this paper, constrained Remez exchange algorithm is proposed to reduce the critical path of an IIR filter. The proposed algorithm is based on Remez exchange algorithm and least squares method. By IIR filter design examples, it is shown that the proposed method can maximally increase speed by 20%.

Nonlinear Optimal Control of an Input-Constrained and Enclosed Thermal Processing System

  • Temperature control of an enclosed thermal system which has many applications including Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP) of semiconductor wafers showed an input-constraint violation for nonlinear controllers due to inherent strong coupling between the elements [1]. In this paper, a constrained nonlinear optimal control design is developed, which accommodates input constraints using the linear algebraic equivalence of the nonlinear controllers, for the temperature control of an enclosed thermal process. First, it will be shown that design of nonlinear controllers is equivalent to solving a set of linear algebraic equations-the linear algebraic equivalence of nonlinear controllers (LAENC). Then an input-constrained nonlinear optimal controller is designed based on that LAENC using the constrained linear least squares method. Through numerical simulations, it is demonstrated that the proposed controller achieves the equivalent performances to the classical nonlinear controllers with less total energy consumption. Moreover, it generates the practical control solution, in other words, control solutions do not violate the input-constraints.

  • 물리 기반 시뮬레이션과 같이 연속적인 움직임을 표현하기 위해서 고차 보간(High-order interpolation)을 설계하는 것을 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 제약적인 벡터와 밀도 형태를 몬테카를로법을 사용하여 이동최소제곱(MLS, Moving least squares)을 제곱하여 이를 통해 속도 필드를 표현할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 결과적으로 밀도의 형태를 고려하여 MLS의 가중치가 적용된 결과를 보여주며, 그 결과가 벡터 보간에 얼마나 큰 영향을 끼치는지를 다양한 실험을 통해 보여준다.

  • Iterative algorithms are proposed for the least-squares symmetric solution of AXB = E with a submatrix constraint. We characterize the linear mappings from their independent element space to the constrained solution sets, study their properties and use these properties to propose two matrix iterative algorithms that can find the minimum and quasi-minimum norm solution based on the classical LSQR algorithm for solving the unconstrained LS problem. Numerical results are provided that show the efficiency of the proposed methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 Semi-Lagrangian 이류 과정에서 역추적(Backward tracing)한 위치의 주변 속도를 Divergence-constrained MLS(Moving least squares)를 이용하여 보간하고 그 결과를 이류된 속도 데이터의 외력으로 적용해 연기 시뮬레이션의 난류 표현을 개선할 수 있는 새로운 프레임워크를 제안한다. 일반적인 MLS는 고차보간법이기 때문에 시간에 따른 연속성 보장이 안 되기 때문에 그 결과가 노이즈한 형태로 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 연기의 원본 속도와 제안하는 기법을 통해 생성된 속도 간의 각도 변화를 통해 난류를 생성하며 이를 통해 안정적이고 연기의 밀도를 이류시킨다.

  • A closed-form technique is presented for estimating a single source location from a set of noisy time delay measurements between distributed sensors. The localization formula is derived from nonlinear least squares minimization over the unknowns of target range and bearing in polar coordinates. Computer simulation results are provided for the purpose of performance analysis. Constrained least squares minimization method with prior source location information is also discussed.
