  • in this paper the design procedure of three phase voltage source inverter output filter is described. The 'd' axis transfer function of the filter output voltage to the load current is described with the capacitor value and the system time constant including the controller. This means that the relation between the filter capacitor value and the system time constant is given as the closed form. By using the above closed form the capacitor value can be calculated with the system time constant is given as the closed,. form the capacitor value can be calculated with the system time constant which can be implemented practically not using the try and error method. And as the effect of the load is connected.

  • This paper describes a speed sensorless algorithm for vector control system with compensated stator resistance and rotor time constant of induction motor using a model reference adaptive system(MRAS). The system are composed of two MRAC, one is a rotor speed estimation and a stator resistor identification by back-EMF observer, other is used to identify rotor time constant by magnetizing current observer, so that the estimation can be cover a very low speed range with a robust control. The suggest control strategy and estimation method have been validated by simulation study. In the simulation using Matlab/Simulik, the proposed speed sensorless vector control system are shown to operate very well in spite of variable rotor time constant and load fluctuation.

  • This paper presents time a constant estimation of induction motor using MRAS(model reference adaptive system) fuzzy control. The rotor time constant is enabled from the estimation of rotor flux, which has two methods. One is to estimate it based on the stator current and the other is to integrate motor terminal voltage. If the parameters are correct, these two methods must yield the same results. But, for the case where the rotor time constant is over or under estimated, the two rotor nut estimation have different angles. Furthermore their angular positions are related to the polarity of rotor time constant estimation error. Based on these observation, this paper develops a rotor time constant update algorithm using fuzzy control. This paper shows the theoretical analysis as well as the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the new method.

  • Beside the invaluable advancements in constructing more secure buildings, the post-earthquake inspections have reported considerable damages. In other words, the modern buildings satisfactorily decrease fatalities but the monetary impacts still mostly remain an unsolved concern of the stakeholders, the insurance companies and society together. Therefore, the fundamental target of the researches shifted from current force-based seismic design regulations to the Performance-Based earthquake engineering (PBEE). At the moment, some probabilistic approaches, such as PEER framework have been developed to predict the performance of building at any desired hazard levels. These procedures are so time-consuming, to which many details are needed to be assigned. It causes their usage to be limited. On that account, developing more straightforward methods seems indispensable. The main objective of the present paper is to adapt an equivalent static method in different damage states. Consequently, constant damage spectrums corresponding to different limit states, soil types, ductility and fundamental periods are plotted and tri-linear formulas are proposed for further applications. Moreover, the sensitivity of outcomes to the employed hysteresis model, ductility, viscous damping and site soil type is investigated. Finally, a case study building with moment-resisting R.C. frame is evaluated based on the both of new and current methods to ensure applicability of the proposed method.

  • The (Sr$_{l-x}$Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_3$(SCT) thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode(Pt/TiN/SiO$_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method with substitutional contents of Ca. The maximum grain of thin films is obtained by substitution of Ca at 15[mol%]. The dielectric constant was increased -with increasing the substitutional contents of Ca, while it was decreased if the substitutional contents of Ca exceeded over 15[mol%]. The dielectric constant changes almost linearly in temperature ranges of -80~+90[$^{\circ}C$]. The temperature properties of the dielectric loss have a stable value within 0.02 independent of the substitutional contents of Ca. The current-voltage characteristics of SCT15 thin films showed the increasing leakage current as the measuring temperature increases.ses.

  • In this paper, an improved Direct Power Control (DPC) algorithm is presented for grid connected three phase PWM rectifiers. The new DPC approach is based on two main tasks. First the optimization of the look-up table, which is well-known in conventional DPC, is outlined for selecting the optimum converter output voltage vectors. Secondly a very simple and effective method is used to directly calculate their duty cycles from the power errors. Therefore, the measured active and reactive powers are made to track their references using hysteresis controllers. Then two vectors are selected and applied during one control cycle to minimize both the active and reactive power ripples. The main advantages of this method are that there is no need of linear current controllers, coordinates transformations or modulators. In addition, the control strategy is able to operate at constant switching frequencies to ease the design of the power converter and the AC harmonic filter. The control exhibits a good steady state performance and improves the dynamic response without any overshoot in the line current. Theoretical principles of the proposed method are discussed. Both simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the performance and effectiveness of this control scheme.

  • In general, the protection method of Shell and Tube Type heat exchanger for a vessel has been applied as a sacrificial anode, which is attached at the inner side of the shell. However, this is an insufficient protection method for tube. Therefore, a more suitable method, such as the impressed current cathodic protection for tube protection, is required. Al-brass is the raw material of tubes for heat exchanger of a vessel where seawater is used for cooling the water. It has a high level of heat conductivity, excellent mechanical properties, and a high level of corrosion resistance, due to a cuprous oxide (Cu$_2$O) layer against th seawater. However, in actuality, it has been reported that Al-brass tubes for heat exchanger of a vessel can produce local corrosion, such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC). This paper studied the effect of impressed potential on the stress corrosion cracking of Al-brass for impressed current cathodic protection in 3.5% NaCl +0.1% NH$_4$OH solution, under flow by a constant displacement tester. Based on the test results, the latent time of SCC, stress corrosion crack propagation, and the dezincification phase of Al-brass are investigated.

  • This study proposes an indirect constant voltage control algorithm for hybrid solid-state transformers (HSSTs) by using primary side information. Considering the structure of HSSTs, measuring voltage and current information on the primary side of a transformer is necessary to control the converter and inverter of the power converter. The secondary side output voltage is measured to apply the conventional secondary side constant voltage control algorithm, and thus, the digital control board requires the same rated insulation voltage as that of the transformer. To solve this problem, the secondary voltage of the transformer obtained from the tap voltage is used. Moreover, output voltage decreases as load increases because the proposed indirect constant voltage control scheme does not consider the cable impedance between the secondary output terminal and the load. This study also proposes a technique for compensating the secondary output voltage by using the primary current of the transformer and the resistance value of the cable. An experiment is conducted using a scale-down HSST prototype consisting of a 660 V/220 V tap transformer. The problem of the proposed indirect constant voltage control strategy and the improvement effect due to the application of the compensation method are compared using the derived experimental results.

  • In this paper, BST((Bao.&o,dTi0:3) thin films were deposited by the rf magnetron sputtering method on Pt/$SiO_2$/Si substrate. Pt, $RuO_2$, Ag, Cu films for the formation of top electrode were deposited on BST thm films. And then Top Electrodes/BST/Pt capacitors were annealed with rapid thermal annealing(RTA) at various temperature. We have investigated effect of post-annealing on the electrical properties such as dielectric constant and leakage current of the capacitors. It was found that electrical properties of the capacitors were greatly depended on the annealing temperatures as well as the materials of top electrodes. In BST thin films with Pt top electrode was annealed at $700^{\circ}C$. the dielectric constant was measured to the value of 346 at l[kHzl and the leakage current was obtained to the value of $8.76\times10^8$[A/$\textrm{cm}^2$] at the forward bias of 2[V].

  • A design method of a current source using 12-pulse phase-controlled rectifier (PCR) is presented. The critical inductance of the 12-pulse PCR is derived and it is shown that the critical inductance can be reduced using a current source. The control circuit of the 12-pulse PCR with an inner fast dynamic loop is proposed to give the frequency synchronism and to reduce the subharmonics due to the unbalance of the transformer of the power line. This circuit is analyzed and its dynamic loop is optimized. The optimal constant PIMF (proportional, integral and measurable variable feedback, and feedforware) controller is also designed using the time-weighted quadratic performance index. It is shown via experimental results that the proposed design method gives high dynamic and static performance of the current source using the 12-pulse PCR.
