Solution for elastic foundation of plane strain state was derived by the application of variational method. Functions of the transverse distribution of the displacements for the analysis were chosen as linear functions. Loading conditions considered for the analysis were concentrated load and distributed load. Under the loading condition of the concentrated load, surface displacement was decreased drastically as the distance from the point of the loading increased. Under the loading condition of the distributed load, surface displacements were more uniformly distributed beneath the loading area when the ratio of the half of the loading width to the depth(B/H) of the compressible layer was greater. The surface displacement was more quickly converged from the edge of the loading area as the ratio(B/H) increased.

Generally, liquid radioactive wastes generated in nuclear power plant exist in powder form which do not contain moisture through the evaporating process of the Liquid Waste Management System and drying process of the Concentrated Waste Drying System. This powder form wastes are blended homogeneously with paraffin solidification agent and packed in metal drum to ensure its stability during handling and disposal. However, it was experienced that the powder form wastes were not blended homogeneously and separated into two layers in metal drum, on the other hand, a Portion of powder was adhered and solidified to the Inside parts of facility during the blending process. And the flaw of blending process above would come in case the mole ratio of Boron to Sodium in liquid radioactive wastes exceeds 0.2.
It is imperative to develop an effective pathway to depolymerize lignin into liquid fuel that can be used as a bioheavy oil. Lignin can be converted into liquid products either by a solvent-free thermal cracking in the absence air, or thermo-chemical degradation in the presence of suitable solvents and chemicals. Here we show that the solvent-assisted liquefaction has produced promising results in the presence of metal-based catalysts. The supercritical ethanol is an efficient liquefaction solvent, which not only provides better solubility to lignin, but also scavenges the intermediate species. The concentrated sulfuric acid hydrolysis lignin (CSAHL) was completely liquefied in the presence of solid catalysts (Ni, Pd and Ru) with no char formation. The effective deoxy-liquefaction nature associated with scEtOH with aid hydrodeoxygenation catalysts, resulted in significant reduction in oxygen-to-carbon (O/C) molar ratio up to 61%. The decrease in oxygen content and increase in carbon and hydrogen contents increased the calorific value bio-oil, with higher heating value (HHV) of $34.6MJ{\cdot}Kg^{-1}$. The overall process is energetically efficient with 129.8% energy recovery (ER) and 70.8% energy efficiency (EE). The GC-TOF/MS analysis of bio-oil shows that the bio-oil mainly consists of monomeric species such as phenols, esters, furans, alcohols, and traces of aliphatic hydrocarbons. The bio-oil produced has better flow properties, low molecular weight, and high aromaticity.

This study is concerned with dynamic characteristics of a circular ring with a concentrated mass attached. The equations of motion are set up and are solved by using Laplace transformation. The ratio of a concentrated mass to the mass of circular ring is used as a parameter. Experiment was performed by employing impulse test and the results show good agreement with those of analysis. The results of this study can be utilized in vibrational analysis of axisymmetric shells with slight asymmetries.
The phase morphology is an important factor in the rheology of immiscible polymer blends. Through its size and shape, the interface between the two phases determines how the components and the interface itself will contribute to the global stresses. Rheological measurements have been used successfully in the past to probe the morphological changes in model blends, particularly for dilute systems. For more concentrated blends only a limited amount of systematic rheological data is available. Here, viscosities and first normal stress differences are presented for a system with nearly Newtonian components, the whole concentration range is covered. The constituent polymers are PDMS and PIB, their viscosity ratio can be changed by varying the temperature. The data reported here have been obtained at 287 K where the viscosities of the two components are identical. By means of relaxation experiments the measured stresses are decomposed into component and interfacial contributions. The concentration dependence is quite different for the two types of contribution. Except for the component contributions to the shear stresses there is no clear indication of the phase inversion. Plotting either the interfacial shear or normal stresses as a function of composition produces in some cases two maxima. The relaxation times of these stresses display a similar concentration dependence. Although the components have the same viscosity, the stress-component curves are not symmetrical with respect to the 50/50 blend. A slight elasticity of one of the components seems to be the cause of this effect. The data for the more concentrated blends at higher shear rates are associated with a fibrillar morphology.

Statement of the problem: In cases of low bone level in maxilla followed by extraction due to severe periodontitis or enlarged maxillary sinus, crown-root ratio of implant prosthesis will increase. The prognosis of these cases is not good as expected. Purpose : The purpose is to compare stress distribution due to crown-root ratio and effect of splinting between two implants in maxillary molar area under different loads Material and methods: Using ITI($4.1{\times}10$ mm) implant. two finite element models were made(model S: two parallel implants, model A: one of two is 20 degree inclined). Each model was designed in different crown-root ratio(0.7:1, 1:1, 1.25:1) and set cement type gold crown to make it splinted or non-splinted clinical situations. After that, 300 N force was loaded to each model in four ways.(load 1 : middle of occlusal table, load 2 : middle of buccal cusp, load 3 : middle of lingual cusp, load 4 : horizontal load to middle of buccal cusp), and stress distribution was analyzed. Results: On all occasions, stress was concentrated on neck of implant near cortical bone. In the case of inclined implant, stress was increased compared with parallel implants. Under load 1, 2, 3, stress was not increased even when crown-root ratio increases, but under load 4, when crown-root ratio increases, stress also increased. And more stress was concentrated under load 1 than load 2, 3. When crown-root ratio was same, stress under load 1, 2, 3 decreased when splinting, but under load 4, stress did not really decrease. Conclusion: Under vertical load, stress distribution related to crown-root ratio did not change. But under horizontal load, stress increased as crown-root ratio increases. Under vertical load, splinting decreased stress but under horizontal load, effect of splinting was decreased as condition of implant changes for the worse such as increase of crown-root ratio, inclined implant.
As a series of tile studies of EPDM-Polymer blends, tile experiment are concentrated to the investigation of the physical properties of tile EPDM-NR-SBR blends. The results are shown as follows: 1. In blending, tensile strength decreased with increase in EPDM contents, especially the ratio of EPDM/NR-SBR is 75/25. 2. Elongation and tear strength were much influenced by blending, especially the ratio of EPDM/NR-SBR is 50/50. 3. Ozone resistance is much improved after blending. It was effective more than tile ratio of EPDM/NR-SBR is 25/75. 4. Aging resistance is much improved after blending. It was effective more than the ratio of EPDM/NR-SBR is 50/50. 5. Hardness increased with increase in EPDM contents and on the other hand, abrasion resistance decreased.
Soluble solids($^{\circ}$Brix), acid content and edible part ratio of Citrus unshiu collected at sorting Places in south Cheju area wee more lowered, and peel thickness was more thickened with increasing fruit size. Compared to early variety of Citurs unshiu(C. unshiu Miyakawa Mar), peel thickness of medium variety of Citurs unshiu(C. unshiu Hayashi Mar) was more thickened, and edible part ratio was more lowered with increasing fruit size. Soluble solids of medium variety of Citurs unshiu were lowered, and acid contents were increased compared to early variety. Processing properties for pressing concentrated juice was good for early variety of Citurs unshiu, especially on fruit diameter of 50-65mm. Soluble solids, acid contents and juice ratio were decreased with increasing peel thickness. The quality properties for fresh fruit with peel thickness had a good correlation on early variety of Citurs unshiu, and these data are supposed to be applied to the quality evaluation of Citurs unshiu produced in Cheju.
The objective of this study is to determine the effect of the loading size on displacements of stiffened plates with open ribs using the orthotropic rigidity ratio as the parameter. To analyze the displacement behavior of stiffened plates according to the loading size, a concentrated load and three types of uniform distributed loads were applied on the rib at the center of some plates. The results of the analysis of various stiffened plates show that the central displacement ratio of the distributed load to the concentrated load increased according to the decrease in the loading size, and that the ratio can be expressed as a function of the rigidity ratio for each rib space. The maximum displacement of the stiffened plate subjected to the distributed load did not appear at the center of the plate due to the local behavior, and the increasing ratio of the maximum displacement to the central displacement can be expressed as a function of the rigidity ratio for each rib space. Orthotropic plate analysis can achieve more accurate results using the proposed functions, and the application of the functions to examples of a different aspect ratio and support condition shows good accuracy. Therefore, using the functions proposed in this study, the central and maximum displacements can easily be achieved in the orthotropic plate analysis of stiffened plates subjected to the distributed load.
