Development of a Management Support System for Customer Satisfaction in a City Gas Company (도시가스회사의 고객만족 경영지원시스템 구축)

  • Customer satisfaction is undoubtedly one of the top strategic issues in the new decade. Today, many organizations are rushing to become more customer focused. A key component of many initiatives is the implementation of customer satisfaction software. In this paper, we provide a case study for customer satisfaction management in a city gas company. The three issues include the plan for giving premiums and the development of a happycall system and a web-based measurement system for customer satisfaction.

  • Every movement, perception and thought we perform is associated with distinct neural activation patterns. Neurons in the brain communicate with each other by sending electrical impulses that produce currents. These currents give rise to electrical fields that can be measured outside the head. It shows some variation on the electroencephalographic signals. In recent devices, the EEG signals measured from head surface are a sum of all the momentary brain activation. With these EEG signals, it is difficult to distinguish the patterns correlated with a certain event from the signals. However, the system must discriminate some patterns with some events especially for any kind of device as a brain control interface system. In this experiment, the sensory-motor cortex of humans has been extensively studied. Activation related to several movements on both sides of the sensory-motor cortices in imaginary. The activation patterns during imagination of several movements resemble the activation patterns during preparation of movements. The result represents the system based on the optimal filters discriminated at least 60% of mental imageries.

  • An effective modeling and simulation scheme of a resistive type Superconducting fault Current Limiter (SFCL) using PSCAD/EMTDC is proposed in this paper. In case of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) resistive type fault current limiter current limiting is implemented by the ultra-fast transition characteristics from the superconducting (non-resistive) state to the normal (resistive) state by overstepping the critical current density. The states can generally be divided into three sub-states: the superconducting state the quench state and the recovery state respectively. In order to provide alternative application schemes of a resistive type SFCL, an effective modeling and simulation method of the SFCL is necessary. For that purpose, in this study, an actual experiment based component model is developed and applied for the simulation of the real resistive type SFCL using PSCAD/EMTDC. The proposed simulation scheme can be implemented to the grid system readily under various system conditions including sort of faults and the system capacity as well. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model and simulation scheme.

Design and Control of Jetting Dispenser Driven by Piezoelectric Actuator (압전 작동기로 구동되는 젯팅 디스펜서의 설계 및 제어)

  • This paper presents a new type of jetting dispenser for the integrated circuit (IC) fabrication and surface mount technology The proposed system is featured by the piezoelectric actuator and hydraulic magnification device. After describing structural component of the dispensing mechanism and its operation principle, both the fluid modeling and the hydraulic magnification modeling are undertaken with a lumped-parameter method based on the analogy of the fluid system and mechanical system. A mathematical governing equation is then derived by integrating the fluid model with the mechanical model of the driving piston and piezoelectric actuator. Subsequently, in order to achieve a desired dispensing amount, control algorithm adjusting duty cycle of the driving voltage is synthesized and control responses are presented in time domain.

  • Overhead cranes which carry heavy items in construction or production areas consist of structure and electric modules. More than 80% of breakdowns bring out of the electric module. As operators do not know all about cranes, it sometimes takes much time to repair the cranes. In order to resolve this problem, the expert system which can diagnose causes of faults and give instructions for repair to operators, has been developed. The scope of the paper is limited to the electric module. First of all, analyzing symptoms and causes, we have developed a rule base with the expert system shell, EXSYS. Furthermore, for the facility maintenance including repair instructions against the causes, the instruction data base was developed with FOXPRO. On the other hand, for the help of user's understanding the fault causes, the graphic animation module which shows malfunctioning component ports or motions in 3D was developed with the graphic software, TOPAS VGA.

  • Dynamic friction and force ripple are the most predominant factors that affect the positioning accuracy of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) servo drives system, and it is desirable to compensate them in finite time with a continuous control law. In this paper, based on LuGre dynamic friction model, a robust adaptive skidding mode controller is proposed to compensate the nonlinear effect of friction and force ripple. The controller scheme consists of a PD component and a robust adaptive sliding mode controller for estimating the unknown system parameter. Using Lyapunov stability theorem, asymptotic stability analysis and position tracking performance are guaranteed. Simulation results well verify the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for high0precision motion trajectory tracking.

  • This paper presents an example of the development of motor drives for machine tools. Machine tools need motor drives with high control precision and performance. We developed a motor drive system that meets these requirements. The converter, the one component of drive system, adopts modular structure and high DC-link voltage. The drive which consists rest part of drive system is developed based on TMS320C32 DSP and state-of-the-art circuit technology. In this paper each developed parts are described in terms of its structure, specification and features.

  • This paper suggests of a 3-phase 3-wire unified active power filter. The system is composed of a series active power filter and a parallel active power filter. The proposed series active power filter compensating unbalance source voltage and current harmonics of the parallel active power filter improves power factor. The proposed algorithm which improves for power factor and harmonic reduction are calculated by the performance function, and which compensates for the unbalanced source voltage is calculated based on the symmetrical component analysis. We composed a combined system of the series active power filter and parallel active power filter to confirm a validity of the proposed control methods. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is confirmed by the experiments.

A Study on the Estimation of Automatic Steering of Ships in Multi-directional Waves (다방향파중에서의 선박 자동조타 시스템의 평가 기법에 관한 연구)

  • When an automatic course-keeping is concerned , as is quite popular in modern navigation, the closed-loop steering system consists of autopilot device, power unit(or telemotor unit), steering gear, magnetic or gyro compass and ship dynamics. In order to estimate steering system of ship in open seas, we need to know the characteristics of each component of the system and also to know the characteristics of disturbance to ship dynamics. Calculation methods of irrgular disturbances are based on the linear superposition principle. In this paper, for the purpose of evaluation of automatic steering of ships , the influences of linear control constants of autopilot on propulsive energy loss are investigated bya performance index is introduced from the viewpoint of energy saving. Numberical calculations are carried out for an are carrier and for a fishing boat in multi-directional waves.
