건설엔지니어링 기업의 경영성과측정모형 -H사의 사례를 중심으로- (A Management Performance Measurement Model of the Construction Engineering Firm -Focused on 'H' Construction Engineering Firm-)

  • 국내 엔지니어링 산업은 시장개방으로 인한 국제 경쟁력 확보, 선진국 대비 기술수준 낙후, 발주방식의 다양화 등으로 인하여 체계적인 사업전략의 수립 및 평가가 절실히 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 각 산업분야의 경영성과측정에 활용되고 있는 BSC를 건설엔지니어링 기업인 H사에 적용한 성과측정모형을 제시하였다. 성과측정모형은 기업의 중장기 발전계획, SWOT분석, 직원의식분석을 통하여 재무, 성장, 내부효율, 개선 및 학습의 4개의 관점으로 구성되며, 각각의 관점별로 핵심 성공요인과 주요성과지표를 도출하였다. 그리고 정렬분석과 일치분석을 통하여 성과측정모형의 유용성을 검증하였다.

Analysis of Hierarchical Competition Structure and Pricing Strategy in the Hotel Industry

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of market commonality and resource similarity on price competition and the recursive consequences in the Korean lodging market. Price comparison among hotels in the same geographic market has been facilitated through the development of information technology, rendering little search cost of consumers. While the literature implies the heterogeneous price attack and response among hotels, a limited number of empirical researches focus on the asymmetric and recursive pattern in the competitive dynamics. This study empirically examines the price interactions in the Korean lodging market based on the theoretical framework of competitive price interactions and countervailing power. Demonstrating superiority to the spatial lag model and the ordinary least squares in the estimation, the results from spatial error model suggest that the hotels with longer operational history pose an asymmetric impact on the price of the newer hotels. The asymmetry is also found in chain hotels over the independent, further implying the possibility of predatory pricing. The findings of this study provide the evidence of a hierarchical structure in the price competition, with different countervailing power by the resources of the hotels. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed, with suggestions for future study.

Factors Influencing Horizontal Cooperation Among Logistics Enterprises: An Empirical Study from Vietnam

  • Horizontal cooperation is seen as an effective way to raise a competitive advantage in logistics and transportation. However, there are many logistics enterprises still operating individually instead of cooperating. This research aims to investigate the factors influencing the decision of horizontal cooperation by surveying a large sample of Vietnamese logistics companies. This study employs 161 logistics companies to examine correlations between potential factors and horizontal collaboration. The structural equation model (SEM) was used to test the conceptual model and the relationships among variables. The findings revealed that information sharing was the most important predictor of 161 supply chain providers' horizontal collaboration decisions, which resulted in increased profitability or service quality. Besides, trust in partners was found to be positively related to the degree of horizontal cooperation among logistics companies. Finally, the finding of this research is that reputation had a positive effect on the strategy of horizontal cooperation. Our findings suggest that SME managers should be concerened about their information sharing, their reputation as well as their trust in partners if they would be invited in cooperation with another firm to increase service quality, performance, and competitive advantage.

  • 인터넷 환경은 화훼 유통 서비스를 급격히 변화 시켰을 뿐만 아니라, 화원의 경쟁 방식 자체를 변화시켰다. 이러한 변화의 중심에는 ROSEWeb 솔루션이 있었다. 사용자 환경이 모바일 인터넷으로 전환되고 있고, 온라인 서비스 업체들은 비즈니스 컨버전스를 통해 새로운 서비스를 제공하고 상황이다. 이에 본 사례연구는 (주)뉴런의 ROSEWeb 사례를 통해 유통과 정보기술이 결합한 비즈니스 모델을 이해하고 이와 관련된 주요 이슈를 파악하여 기업들이 새로운 비즈니스 가치를 창출하기 위한 비즈니스 모델과 화훼 유통 서비스 전략을 수립하는데 있어서 좋은 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 본 사례연구는 인터넷 화훼 유통 서비스뿐만 아니라 인터넷 비즈니스의 다양한 서비스 영역에서 창업이후 단계별 사업 전략수립을 위한 기본 모델로 폭 넓게 적용 할 수 있을 것이다. 사례 내용은 외부환경 측면(화훼 유통서비스 시장, 협회-화원간 전략적 파트너십 관계)과 내부환경 측면(ROSEWeb 솔루션, 비즈니스 모델, 수익원)으로 나누어 구성되어 있다. 각 장의 내용들을 이 두 관점에서 살펴본다면 모바일 인터넷 환경에서 새로운 서비스를 준비하는 기업들에게 많은 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 마지막으로 이 사례를 읽고 두 가지 의문을 가지고 토의를 했으면 한다. "인터넷 포탈업체들이 화훼 유통서비스에 진입했을 때 ROSEWeb은 지속적으로 경쟁우위를 확보할 수 있는가?"와 "(주)뉴런의 다음 비즈니스 모델은 무엇인가?"

가상시장에서 Porter의 경쟁우위전략: 온라인 기업과 온-오프라인기업간 비교를 중심으로 (An examination of Porter`s competitive strategy on the virtual market: comparison between on-line and on-offline firms)

  • Internet-based on-line firms have focused on the development of new business models with an assumption that this new model would create their competitiveness. At the same time, off-line firms have opened new marketing channels on the internet in order to defend their position against on-line firms. Based on Porter's well-known generic strategy, this study compares between on-line firms and on-offline firms i) whether these two types of firms take different strategies among cost reduction, marketing differentiation, innovation differentiation, and focus and ii) how the performance of these two types of firms is affected by different strategy types. The result shows that on-offline firms prefer the strategy of marketing differentiation and innovative differentiation while the strategy of cost reduction and focus are taken without significant difference between online firms and on-offline firms. Also it is found that even though the strategy of marketing differentiation and innovation differentiation are more preferred by on-offline firms than on-line firms, these two strategy types have a significant influence on the on-line firms' performance while the focus strategy has a significant influence on the on-offline firms' performance. Other managerial implications are discussed.

기업의 해외직접투자 모형설정에 관한 실증 연구 - 동아시아 6개국 중심 - (An Empirical Study on the Modeling Determinants and Effects of Korean FDI - Focused on six Country of East Asia -)

  • This research is about global investment for managing the important position, what Korea is doing in World's main market. Considering there are some differences between developed countries' model and developing countries' model in doing direct overseas investment, they target to get political agreement and develop the new invest plan and strategy by understanding changes of Korean manufacturing companies in direct overseas investment between 2000 and 2007 and analyzing the change of yearly investment motivation factors and determining factors for investment. The result from this result let us know that company should develop their own idea for their competitive advantage by doing direct overseas investment with the existing theory which convinces the need of competitive advantage for investing overseas. I set actual model and analyze results from it with the considering that it is so important to get knowledge and information for globalizing companies to invest overseas and companies, which want to be world leading ones for their field through innovation and changes, need to have more active strategy. And, the overseas investment, which was already done in other countries, 1. Review its realities and tendency in terms of investing countries, investing industries, and its scale. 2. Set up an actual model, based on strategic combination of investing location select and determination of Korean manufacturing companies and yearly investing factor-effect analysis. 3. Analyze how the situational factors have influenced and what factors would be considered for direct overseas investment. From the analyzing result, even though it is fairly true that raising wage and getting resources, avoiding customs, and developing alternating industries for export had influenced at the beginning, overseas investing companies' policy will be influenced by the results from studying marketing-pursuit type, which emphasizes to manage trade income and outgo, keeping the balance in the black, ensuring raw materials, local producing and manufacturing by using low-wage people for local sale, and situation for changing investing tendency as service industry.

패러다임 전환에 의한 기업 측면의 IoT 경영 프로세스 구축방안 연구 (A Study on the establishment of IoT management process in terms of business according to Paradigm Shift)

  • 본 연구는 최근 가장 큰 이슈로 떠오르는 "사물인터넷(IoT: Internet of Things)"의 개념과 국내 외 IoT 시장에 대한 현황을 고찰하였으며, IoT 시대의 도래로 인해 유발되는 패러다임 전환 발생에 따른 기업측면의 적절한 대응방안에 대한 해결책을 도출하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 티핑포인트(Tipping point)에 있는 IoT 경쟁 시대에 적절하게 대응하기 위한 기업의 경영전략을 '패러다임 전환(paradigm shift)'이라는 시각을 통해 대응 방안을 제시하였다. 특히, 과거의 경영 패러다임과 IoT 시대의 경영 패러다임을 비교 분석하여 i)지식 및 학습 주도 경영, ii)기술 및 혁신 중심 경영, iii)수요 창출 경영, iv)글로벌 협업 경영으로 새롭게 패러다임 전환(Paradigm Shift)이 발생할 것으로 예측 및 제안하였고, 이러한 패러다임의 전환에 대응하기 위한 기업측면의 경영전략 프로세스 모델을 구축하기 위해 Gartner가 제시한 'RTE Cyclone model'을 활용하였다. '실시간 기업(RTE)' 이라는 개념은 급변하는 IoT 시대에 기업측면의 경영 전략 프로세스로 활용가치가 있다고 판단되며, 본 연구에서 적절히 응용하여 'IoT-RTE Cyclone model'을 제안하였다. 특히, 제안한 모델은 기업의 민첩성을 강조하고 IT 및 IoT 기술을 통한 실시간 모니터링, 분석, 실행을 기본으로 하며, 기업의 경영 프로세스 각 부문을 통합시켜 기업의 전반적인 서비스를 지원하기 때문에 빠르게 변화하는 IoT 시대에서 영위하는 기업측면에서의 효과적인 대응전략으로 활용할 수 있다.

  • This study aims at helping Chinese container liners keep constant competitiveness in the heated competition Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a mathematics-based, multi-criteria decision analysis methodology is applied in the study to the performance evaluation on the three biggest Chinese container liners: COSCON, CSCL, and Sinolines. Through the final results of AHP model, we completely learn the current situation of Chinese liners, therefore they are able to enhance the competitive advantage from modifying operation strategy and competition strategy in accordance with the shipping market.

미국 중소기업의 SCM전략과 Best Practice 실행 현황조사 연구 (SCM Strategy and Best Practices Implementation in SMEs)

  • Over the last decade, the field of supply chain management (SCM) and e-business has received an enormous amount of attention from practitioners and academicians. However, little has been known about how and to what extent small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are implementing SCM initiatives and e-business practices. This paper proposes a comprehensive research model and presents the survey results of these practices of SMEs located in Wisconsin and illinois, U.S., In terms of competitive strategy and priority, value chain activity priority, supply chain and e-business integration focus, SCM best practices implementation focus and challenges, and business performance. The analysis reveals several valuable insights into how SMEs should run their businesses in today's volatile, rapidly changing customer economy.

A Study on 7-Eleven's Core Competencies: Focusing on the VRIO Model

  • In this study, the core competencies of 7-Eleven, Japan's representative convenience store, were derived through a qualitative analysis method using VRIO (value, rarity, Imitability, and organization) framework, a management strategy model based on Resource-Based View (RBV). As a result of VRIO analysis, the value can be based on the scale that 7-Eleven ranks first in the Japanese convenience store industry in terms of the number of stores and market share that it has developed based on capital. The rarity is based on the fact that raw material procurement, the main activity of a company, is establishing the nation's largest distribution channel in the entire process, from producers to logisticians and franchisees. The difficulty for Imitability is based on a dominant strategy and has secured a competitive advantage by opening stores in a specific area, improving awareness, and raising barriers to entry. As the largest company in the convenience store industry, it is confirmed that 7-Eleven is the result of organizational power that has built stores not only in Korea but also in 16 countries around the world.
