  • A feeding trial was conducted to examine the effect of high-temperature-micro-time (HTMT) processing of diets containing extruded soybean (ESB) in high quantity on milk fat production, metabolic responses, and the formation of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and trans-vaccenic acid (TVA). Twenty-one multiparous Holstein cows in mid-lactation were blocked according to milk yield in the previous lactation. Cows within each block were randomly assigned to either normal concentrate or HTMT treated diets containing ESB (7.5% HTMT-ESB and 15% HTMT-ESB). It was hypothesized that the HTMT-ESB would affect the undegradable fatty acids in the rumen and, thus, would modify the fatty acid profile of milk fat. Both 7.5% and 15% HTMT-ESB did not affect milk yield, fat, protein, lactose and solid-not-fat (SNF), but the proportion of cis-9, trans-11 CLA in milk fat was significantly increased by these treatments. Content of TVA in milk fat was not affected by HTMT-ESB. The HTMT-ESB influenced the fatty acid profile in milk fat, but there was little difference between 7.5% and 15% of supplementation. HTMT-ESB feeding significantly decreased the concentration of plasma insulin and glucose, while plasma growth hormone (GH), triglyceride (TG), non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) and HDLcholesterol were increased by 7.5% and 15% ESB-HTMT supplementation in comparison to the control group (p<0.05). However, no significant difference was observed in plasma LDL-cholesterol, insulin like growth factor (IGF)-1, T3, T4, and leptin concentrations among treatments (p>0.05). The present results showed that cis-9, trans-11 CLA production was increased by HTMT treatment of dietary ESB without reduction of milk fat, and the unchanged milk fat and yield was assumed to be associated with the constant level of thyroid hormones, leptin, and IGF-1.

  • The objective of this study was to estimate cardinal temperatures for germination of lettuce (Lactuca sativar L.) using bilinear, parabolic, and beta distribution functions. Seeds of lettuce were germinated in a growth chamber at 7 constant temperatures: 10, 14, 16, 20, 24, 28, and $32^{\circ}C$. Four replicates of 100 seeds were placed on two layers of filter paper in a 9 cm petri-dish. Radicle emergence of 1 mm was scored as germination. The time course of germination was modeled using a logistic function. These minimum, optimum, and maximum temperatures were estimated by regression of the inverse of time to 50% germination rate against the temperature gradient. In bilinear function, minimum, optimum, and maximum temperatures were $7.9^{\circ}C$, $23.3^{\circ}C$, and $28.0^{\circ}C$, respectively. In parabolic function, minimum, optimum, and maximum temperatures were $9.7^{\circ}C$, $19.5^{\circ}C$, and $29.4^{\circ}C$, respectively. In beta distribution function, minimum, optimum, and maximum temperatures were $3.7^{\circ}C$, $20.7^{\circ}C$ and $32.0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Minimum, optimum, and maximum ranges of temperatures were $3.7{\sim}9.7^{\circ}C$, $19.5{\sim}23.3^{\circ}C$, and $28.0{\sim}32.0^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • Monte Carlo calculations were performed to demonstrate the dose modulation with dynamic magnetic fields in phantom. The goal of this study is to obtain the uniform dose distributions at a depth region as a target on the central axis of photon beam under moving transverse magnetic field. We have calculated the depth dose curves for two cases of moving magnetic field along a depth line, constant speed and optimal speed. We introduced step-by-step shift and time factor of the position of the electromagnet as an approximations of continuous moving. The optimal time factors as a function of magnetic field position were calculated by least square methods using depth dose data for static magnetic field. We have verified that the flat depth dose is produced by varying the speed of magnetic field as a function of position as a results of Monte Carlo calculations. For 3 T magnetic field, the dose enhancement was 10.1% in comparison to without magnetic field at the center of the target.

  • This study conducted a survey on the time serial change in the aging ratio and population structure in new towns and their housing complex of Korea and Japan, and revealed the differences in the factors that affect the aging ratio in new towns of Korea and Japan through a comparison of the housing provision of housing complex with a high aging ratio. Rapid aging is underway around the housing complexes that were developed in the beginning of Tama new town in Japan. Agingtends to increase in proportion to the opening time of the housing complex. Rental housing residents of early migration households showed rapid aging because they had generation separation early due to narrow housing. On the other hand, Bundang new town maintains a lower aging ratio and speed than Seoul and Seoul metropolitan area due to the constant influx of student population. On the other hand, aging is more likely to increase in large houses due to the depression of the real estate market.

  • Currently, South Korea implements water resources management policies focusing on integrated water quantity, quality and hydro-ecology management. In particular, rehabilitation of natural rivers has become a major issue. As for reservoir operation during non-flood season, efforts have been made continuously to apply the Deficit Supply Method that can maximize water supply to address droughts and increase in water demand. When Deficit Supply Method is applied, the water supply capacity of reservoir can be maximized. However, downstream water flow would remain constant. In consideration that a natural stream, a long-time-created hydro-ecology, can be significantly influenced by flow variability, the Deficit Supply Method-based reservoir operation can generate effective water supply. Still, it may trigger adverse effects from the aspects of natural rehabilitation and hydro-ecology recovery. The main objective of this study is to analyze impacts on downstream flow duration through reservoir simulation by comparing the Firm Supply Method, the Deficit Supply Method and the Selective Deficit Supply Method, and examining each method's effects on reservoir operation. This study found that the Firm Supply Method could maintain water flow variability, but could not maximize water supply capacity. When the Deficit Supply Method was applied, water supply capacity could be increased while remaining vulnerable regarding water flow variability, as a difference between average flow and low flow was negligible at downstream. In comparison, the Selective Deficit Supply Method was found to sustain time-based reliability at 95% or higher, whereas downstream flow duration could be maintained at a level similar to the level generated by the Firm Supply Method.

  • In this study a series of bench scale test are conducted to increase the undrained shear strength of clayey soils using by Electro-kinetic injection stabilization method. The sodium silicate was injected in anode reservoir and its concentration was changed with 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500mM for configuration of applicability of Electro-kinetic injection stabilization method. Also, the treatment time and electric gradient was changed to acquire the optical influence factors. For increasing the shear strength to maximum values, the calcium chloride and aluminium hydroxide, which concentration was changed with 50, 250, 500, 750, 1000mM, were added at anode reservoir for 5 days after the treatment of sodium silicate in 5 days as the 2nd additives. The test of results in determination of sodium silicate concentration show that the undrained shear strength at each point had a tendency to converge into a constant value when the concentration of sodium silicate came to 1000mM and above. The maximum shear strength increasement was 800% compared with initial value. After a series of test, the electric gradient and treatment time for application of electric fielld were 1V/cm and 6 days. In case of 2nd additives test, the concentration for maximum shear strength is 250mM in all additives and the effects of shear strength improvement was developed approximately 20~30% in comparison to addition of single injection material.

  • Software reliability in the software development process is an important issue. Software process improvement helps in finishing with reliable software product. Infinite failure NHPP software reliability models presented in the literature exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this study, reliability software cost model considering shape parameter based on life distribution from the process of software product testing was studied. The cost comparison problem of the Lomax distribution reliability growth model that is widely used in the field of reliability presented. The software failure model was used the infinite failure non-homogeneous Poisson process model. The parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation was conducted. For analysis of software cost model considering shape parameter. In the process of change and large software fix this situation can scarcely avoid the occurrence of defects is reality. The conditions that meet the reliability requirements and to minimize the total cost of the optimal release time. Studies comparing emissions when analyzing the problem to help kurtosis So why Kappa efficient distribution, exponential distribution, etc. updated in terms of the case is considered as also worthwhile. In this research, software developers to identify software development cost some extent be able to help is considered.

  • Until the early part of the 1990s, interior design has never been thought important by car makers. Repeated attempts have been made to systemize a technical structure, such as layout, driving method, and size, and the car's interior design has been developed by in simple comparison with the exterior design. In the 1990s, however, this trend began to change because consumers began spending more time in their cars, so the motive of the technology development became that of giving comfort and functional satisfaction to the customers. Observing how a person spends inside his or her car and considering the latest trends in car interiors have made a consumer-oriented sense of value i.e., intensifying the personality of the car's interior design and considering the emotional makeup of the consumer factor in the acquisition of a strategic brand identity. These days, car interiors assume a new concept every year due to the constant change in various factors, and the application of a high-tech design, with a sensing function and a navigation system, to achieve driverless running, is being raised as a key trend element technology for the future. Now, at the present when multilateral concept applications of design are attempted under the direct influences from other fields such as product design, fashion and furniture, I would like to lay stress on investigating and analysing the changes in car interior design varying with the background of the times and formative characteristics from the object point of view. On this study, I would like to compare the background of the times and flow of car interior design with priority given to crash pad and would like to attempt to present the direction of the future car interior design together with diversifying major technical factors.

  • The second year's results of surface fire effects on forest vegetation and soil properties and fire tolerance of various tree species were investigated in Mt. Gwanak, Kyunggi-do, successively after the study of the first year's effect in the same place. Soil moisture contents, organic matters, and most of soil nutrients including exchangeable bases had increased just after fire and went down to become somewhat constant. Available phosphorous at fired area decreased until it became similar to that at unfired area, while pH of subsoil was continuously increasing from just after fire till after 1 year. For Lespedeza and Weigela species, fire tolerance of tree crown was the lowest but reproductive capacity was the highest. And both of them were high for Rhododendron species. More exact classification into Increasers, Decreasers, Invaders and Neutral species was possible in the second year's study. According to comparison of similarities, it was found that the vegetational structure at fired area is slowly restoring to original state as time goes.
