파종량과 파종상 처리방법이 겉뿌림한 목초의 정착과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Seeding Rates and Seesbed Preparations on the Seedling Establishment and Yield of Surface-Sown Pasture Species)

  • 본 시험은 파종량과 파종상 처리방법이 겉뿌림한 목초 유식물의 정착과 목초의 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 경기도 화성군의 구릉산지에서 2년간에 걸쳐 수행되었다. 얻어진 결과에 따르면 orchardgrass의 정착은 ha 당 30-40kg 파종시보다 20kg 파종시에 유의적으로 높았으나, ladino clover의 정착은 파종량간에 차이가 없었다. 파종상 처리방법으로서 레이키질과 화인은 무처리구에 비하여 목초의 정착률을 유의적으로 향상시켰다. Orchardgrass의 정착율에 대하여는 레이키질 한것이 화입한 것보다 유의적으로 높았으나 ladino clover에 대해서는 차이가 없었다. 목초의 파종량 증가는 겉뿌림 초지의 목초수량을 높여 주지 못하였으나, 파종상 처리방법으로서 레이키질과 무처리는 목초수량을 유의적으로 증가시켜 주었다. 본 시험결과에 따르면, 목초으 정착률에 있어서는 레이키질과 화입처리가 효과적이었고 수량에 있어서는 레이키질과 무처리가 효과적이라고 할 수 있었으나, 목초의 수량에 대해서는 ha 당 20kg 이상증량 파종량과 화입방법은 증수효과가 없었다.

뽕나무 품종별.시기별 뽕잎과 오디의 항산화능 분석 (Anti-oxidative Capacity Analysis of Water-Soluble Substances According to Varieties and Maturity Stages in Mulberry Leaves and Fruits)

  • 장려뽕 16 품종에 대한 뽕잎과 오디의 항산화능을 시기별로 채취하여 비교분석 하였다. 항산화능 측정장치(munilum L-100, ABCD GmbH) 및 ARAW-KIT(antiradical ability of water-soluble substance)를 사용하였으며, ascorbic acid를 표준물질로 사용하여 calibration curve를 작성하였다. 시료의 항산화능과 분석에 소요되는 전처리 시간을 고려하여 80% MeOH, 30 sec. vortex mixing 방법을 기준 전처리 방법으로 하였다. 16품종 전체의 뽕잎에 대한 항산화능을 분석한 결과 5개엽기의 어린 뽕잎의 항산화능은 3303.4 nmol로 높았으며, 오디가 착색되기 직전 3708.0 nmol으로 최대 값을 나타낸 후 시기가 경과함에 따라 점차 감소 및 하벌 후 점차 증가 하다가 뽕잎이 경화되기 직전 춘기 어린 잎 정도의 항산화능을 유지하는 것으로 나타났다. 항산화능이 높은 뽕잎을 이용하기 위해서는 5월 하순에 채취하는 것이 수율도 높아 경제성이 있을 것으로 판단되며, 생과 또는 가공식품의 원료로 사용하기 위해 오디를 수확한 후 남은 뽕잎의 이용도 충분히 가능하므로 이를 활용하기 위해서는 하벌 전에 뽕잎의 수확 작업이 이루어지도록 해야 할 것이다. 뽕잎 수확 후 저장하는 방법보다 시기에 따른 뽕잎 자체의 성숙 정도가 뽕잎의 항산화능을 결정하는 것으로 판단된다.

Early treatment of anterior open bite: Comparison of the vertical and horizontal morphological changes induced by magnetic bite-blocks and adjusted rapid molar intruders

  • Objective: This prospective clinical study aims to determine the differences between two treatment modalities for anterior open bite in growing patients. The treatment modalities involved the use of magnetic bite-blocks (MBBs) or rapid molar intruders (RMIs) applied with posterior bite-blocks. Methods: Fifteen consecutive patients with a mean age of 11.2 (standard deviation [SD] = 1.6) years and a mean open bite of -3.9 mm were treated with MBBs. Another 15 consecutive patients with a mean age of 10.9 (SD = 1.8) years and a mean open bite of -3.8 mm were treated with RMIs applied on bite-blocks. Cephalometric radiographs were obtained before (T1) and immediately after appliance removal (T2). The treatments lasted four months, during which the appliances were cemented to the teeth. The morphological changes were measured in each group and compared using logistic regression analysis. Results: The MBB group exhibited significantly greater decreases in SNA angle, ANB angle, overjet, and maxillary incisor angle (p < 0.05). The MBBs induced greater effects on the maxilla and maxillary dentition. The MBBs restrained maxillary forward growth and retracted the maxillary incisors more effectively than did the RMIs. Consequently, changes in the intermaxillary relationships and overjets were more distinct in the MBB group. Conclusions: The anteroposterior differences between the appliances suggest that MBBs should be preferred for the treatment of patients with Class II open bites and maxillary incisor protrusions.

Comparison of effect of desensitizing agents on the retention of crowns cemented with luting agents: an in vitro study

  • PURPOSE. Many dentists use desensitizing agents to prevent hypersensitivity. This study compared and evaluated the effect of two desensitizing agents on the retention of cast crowns when cemented with various luting agents. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Ninety freshly extracted human molars were prepared with flat occlusal surface, 6 degree taper and approximately 4 mm axial length. The prepared specimens were divided into 3 groups and each group is further divided into 3 subgroups. Desensitizing agents used were GC Tooth Mousse and $GLUMA^{(R)}$ desensitizer. Cementing agents used were zinc phosphate, glass ionomer and resin modified glass ionomer cement. Individual crowns with loop were made from base metal alloy. Desensitizing agents were applied before cementation of crowns except for control group. Under tensional force the crowns were removed using an automated universal testing machine. Statistical analysis included one-way ANOVA followed by Turkey-Kramer post hoc test at a preset alpha of 0.05. RESULTS. Resin modified glass ionomer cement exhibited the highest retentive strength and all dentin treatments resulted in significantly different retentive values (In Kg.): GLUMA ($49.02{\pm}3.32$) > Control ($48.61{\pm}3.54$) > Tooth mousse ($48.34{\pm}2.94$). Retentive strength for glass ionomer cement were GLUMA ($41.14{\pm}2.42$) > Tooth mousse ($40.32{\pm}3.89$) > Control ($39.09{\pm}2.80$). For zinc phosphate cement the retentive strength were lowest GLUMA ($27.92{\pm}3.20$) > Control ($27.69{\pm}3.39$) > Tooth mousse ($25.27{\pm}4.60$). CONCLUSION. The use of $GLUMA^{(R)}$ desensitizer has no effect on crown retention. GC Tooth Mousse does not affect the retentive ability of glass ionomer and resin modified glass ionomer cement, but it decreases the retentive ability of zinc phosphate cement.

콩과목초 잔주의 사일리지용 옥수수에 대한 질소 공급효과 (A Comparison of Legume Residues as a Nitrogen Source for Silage Corn)

  • A field experiment was conducted at the forage experimental plots, Seoul National University, Suweon h m 1995 to 1996 to determine the effect of legume residues as a N source and N fertilizer on corn (Zea mays L.) silage yield, N uptake, and availability of inorganic N in the soil. Corn was grown following (i) red clover (Trifolium pratense L.), (ii) crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.), (iii) alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) and (iv) winter fallow. The plots were split into two rates of fertilizer N (0 and 90kg Nlha) in a split-plot experimental plan. Compared with fallow treatment, legumes depleted soil water in the surface 15cm at corn planting by 17 to 26%. As a result, corn emergence was markedly delayed with legume residues by 8 to 11 days. Corn silage DM yield was significantly reduced in the presence of legume residues by 2.0 to 3.4 and 1.5 to 2.5 tonlha compared with winter fallow treatment at 0 and 90kg fertilizer Nlha, respectively, but no significant difference in the corn DM yield was found between legume residue treatments. There was an overall tendency for increased corn yields with 90kg fertilizer Nlha compared to Okg fertilizer Nlha, although not all yield increases were significantly greater.   • 비탈면 붕괴를 최소화 하기 위하여 조사, 설계, 해석, 대책방안 등의 연구가 많이 수행되고 있다. 그러나, 최근 태풍 및 집중호우로 인하여 비탈면 및 자연 사면의 산사태 발생빈도는 줄지 않고 있다. 단순한 설계 기준의 강화만으로는 적절한 대책을 마련하기 어려운 실정이다. 따라서, 지반과 강우를 고려한 최적의 조건에서 설계 및 안정해석을 실시하여야 한다. 본 연구는 비탈면 해석시 강우 및 해석조건에 대하여 각 변수의 영향을 살펴보고자 안전율의 변화를 다각도로 검토한 것이다. 연구방법으로는 비탈면 안정에 가장 민감하게 반응한다고 판단되는 강우조건과 지반조건을 선정하였고, 각각의 조건변수를 변화시켜가면서 수치해석적 검토를 수행하였다. 강우특성으로는 국내의 확률강우특성을 기반으로 해석을 수행하였으며 지반조건으로는 불포화토를 대상으로 검토를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 지역별 강우특성과 불포화토의 매개변수 적용이 비탈면 안전율 변화에 민감하게 반응하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 설계시 입력변수에 대한 충분한 검토가 선행되어야 할 것이다.

완전 무치악 환자에서 상악 총의치와 하악 임플란트 지지 고정성 보철 치료를 위한 치료법 비교: 증례 보고 (Comparison of treatments for maxillary full denture and mandibular implant-supported fixed prosthesis in completely edentulous patients: A case report)

  • 완전 무치악 환자에서 상악은 전통적인 총의치 치료를 통해 충분한 안정, 지지 및 유지를 얻기 용이하지만, 하악은 해부학적 한계로 인하여 치료에 어려움이 있기 때문에 임플란트를 동반한 치료를 고려할 수 있다. 구치부에 임플란트 식립이 어려운 경우에는 이공 전방에 4 - 5개의 임플란트를 이용하여 하악의 의치를 고정해주는 하이브리드 형 고정성 총의치로 치료할 수 있고, 구치부에 임플란트 식립이 가능한 경우라면 다수 유닛으로 구성되는 임플란트 지지 고정성 보철물을 고려할 수 있다. 이러한 접근방식은 시대가 지남에 따라 수술방식이나 사용하는 재료 등이 다양하게 변해왔다. 본 증례에서는 상악 총의치를 사용하는 완전 무치악 환자의 하악에서 임플란트를 이용한 고정성 보철 치료의 증례를 중심으로 치료 방법을 비교해 보고자 한다.

서울지역 일반 한의원과 네트워크 한의원의 환자만족도 및 추천의사에 미치는 영향요인 비교 (Comparison of Patients' Satisfactions with General Korean Medicine Clinics and Networked Korean Medicine Clinics in Seoul, Korea)

  • Objective : This study aimed to compare the patients' satisfactions with local Korean Medicine(KM) clinics and networked KM clinics, and to find out which factors had an effect on it. Method : Six local KM clinics and six networked KM clinics were selected, and patients' questionnaires on the satisfaction with KM clinic use were administered using exit poll method. The questionnaires were developed to measure satisfactions with facility, doctor and staffs, and services. 240 patients completed the questionnaires, and the data were statistically analyzed. Results : There was more diversity in patients' diseases among networked KM clinics users, however, treatments provided were not differentiated clinically between two types of KM clinics. Patients' satisfaction scores for local KM clinics were significantly higher than those for networked KM clinics in the aspects of doctors/staffs (9.35 vs 8.92, p<.01) and services (8.76 vs 8.42, p<.05). 90.0% of local KM clinic users expressed their willingness to recommend the clinics they used to others, while 75.0% of networked KM clinics users did. For both the local and networked clinics, 'KM doctors' kindness', and 'process and waiting time' were statistical factors affecting patients' satisfaction. Conclusion : The patients' satisfactions with general KM clinics were higher than those with networked KM clinics. Networked KM clinics need to develop services to meet the diverse medical demands which were created by them selves.

석탄폐광지에서의 식생기반재 처리별 수목 초기 생육상황 비교 (Comparison of Seedling Growth by Treatments of Vegetation Basis in an Abandoned Coal Mine Area)

  • This study was conducted to select environmentally-friendly and low-cost mulching material that could replace soil molding which can be used to restore vegetation in an abandoned coal mine area. To this end, we established 20 experimental plots (4m ${\times}$ 10m in size) on the steep, south west-facing slope of the abandoned coal mine area in Hwangji-Dong, Taebaek City, Gangwon Province in April 2006. We planted two-year-old 1,600 seedlings (at intervals of 0.6m ${\times}$ 0.8m) of drought-resistant tree species including Betula schmidtii, Betula platyphylla var. japonica, Amorpha fruticosa, and Quercus mongolica in the plots. After planting seedlings, mulching was applied by using five different kinds of material such as HWAP (Teracotem), peat moss, straw mats, wood chips, and control (no-mulching) and the effects of different mulching material on the survival rate and growth performance were compared. Three years after planting, the survival rate was the highest in wood chip mulching, followed by straw-mat, peat moss, HWAP, and control. The survival rate was the highest in Quercus mongolica, followed by Betula schmidtii, Betula platyphylla var. japonica, and Amorpha fruticosa. Meanwhile the height growth was the best in Betula platyphylla var. japonica, followed by Betula schmidtii, Quercus mongolica, and Amorpha fruticosa. The height growth of seedlings was the best in HWAP mulching, followed by peat moss, woody chips, straw mat, and control. From an economic point of view, wood chips are considered to be the best mulching material. The results showed that mulching without soil molding and/or mixing applications would be effective for restoring vegetation in an abandoned coal mine areas.

Calibration of Apis Mellifera Hives for Pollination of Brassica Crop at Rawalpindi

  • The response of honeybee (Apis mellifera L.) pollination on canola yield with reference to most suitable number of bee hive need per unit area of crops in order to meet optimum pollination needs and better economic yields by comparing number of hives and yield components an experiment was conducted at Beekeeping and Hill Fruit Pests Research, Station Rawalpindi during 2017-18 in complete randomized block design with two sets of four treatments for comparison: 1 hive acre-1, 2 hives acre-1, 3 hives acre-1 and 0 hive acre-1. The hives were kept inside the experimental area. Parameters were assessed: pollination density, pollinator's diversity, agronomic and economic yield. In case of pollination density, the cumulative mean abundance bee species revealed that at 1200 hours, Apis mellifera was the most abundant and frequent visitor with a mean population of 8.69 bees/plant followed by A. dorsata (0.72), Syrphid fly (0.2) and other pollinators. Minimum bee population was observed during 1400 hours, mainly due to the closure of flowers and partially due to high temperature (>35℃). Pollinator diversity revealed that A. mellifera was the most dominant pollinator of Brassica crop with highest abundance (71%). A. dosata ranked 2nd (16%) followed by A. florea (6%) respectively.
