  • Let M be an n-dimensional compact connected and oriented Riemannian manifold isometrically immersed in an (n+2)-dimensional Euclidean space $R^{n+2}$. Moore [5] proved that if M is of positive curvature, then M is a homotopy sphere. This result is generalized by Baldin and Mercuri [2], Baik and Shin [1] to the case of non-negative curvature, which is stated as follows: If M of non-negative curvature, then M is either a homotopy sphere or diffeomorphic to a product of two spheres. In particular, if there is a point at which the curvature operator is positive, then M is homeomorphic to a sphere.e.

  • Let X be a compact metric space, B be a unital commutative Banach algebra and ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1]$. In this paper, we first define the vector-valued (B-valued) ${\alpha}$-Lipschitz operator algebra $Lip_{\alpha}$ (X, B) and then study its structure and characterize of its maximal ideal space.

  • This paper is concerned with the existence of mild solutions for partial neutral functional integrodifferential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces. The results are obtained by using resolvent operators and Krasnoselski-Schaefer type fixed point theorem. An example is provided to illustrate the results.

  • We investigate the multiple solutions for the nonlinear parabolic boundary value problem with jumping nonlinearity crossing two eigenvalues. We show the existence of at least four nontrivial periodic solutions for the parabolic boundary value problem. We restrict ourselves to the real Hilbert space and obtain this result by the geometry of the mapping.

  • We consider the problem to determine when a Toeplitz operator is bounded on weighted Bergman spaces. We introduce some set CG of symbols and we prove that Toeplitz operators induced by elements of CG are bounded and characterize when Toeplitz operators are compact and show that each element of CG is related with a Carleson measure.

  • We deal with the approximate controllability for semilinear systems with time delay in a Hilbert space. First, we show the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the given systems with the mere general Lipschitz continuity of nonlinear operator f from $R\;\times\;V$ to H. Thereafter, it is shown that the equivalence between the reachable set of the semilinear system and that of its corresponding linear system. Finally, we make a practical application of the conditions to the system with only discrete delay.

  • The purpose of this paper is to give sample characterizations of n-dimensional CR-submanifolds of (n-1) CR-semifolds of (n-1) CR-dimension immersed in a complex projective space $CP^{(n+p)/2}$ with Fubini-Study metric and we study an n-dimensional compact, orientable, minimal CR-submanifold of (n-1) CR-dimension in $CP^{(n+p)/2}$.

  • Non-manifold topological representations can provide a single unified representation for mixed dimensional models or cellular models and thus have a great potential to be applied in many application areas. Various boundary representations for non-manifold topology have been proposed in recent years. These representations are mainly interested in describing the sufficient adjacency relationships and too redundant as a result. A model stored in these representations occupies too much storage space and is hard to be manipulated. In this paper, we proposed a compact hierarchical non-manifold boundary representation that is extended from the half-edge data structure for solid models by introducing the partial topological entities to represent some non-manifold conditions around a vertex, edge or face. This representation allows to reduce the redundancy of the existing schemes while full topological adjacencies are still derived without the loss of efficiency. To verify the statement above, the storage size requirement of the representation is compared with other existing representations and present some main procedures for querying and traversing the representation. We have also implemented a set of the generalized Euler operators that satisfy the Euler-Poincare formula for non-manifold geometric models.
