The libraries that existed during the latter period of the Yi Dynasty may be categorized into four types: the royal library, the school library, the clan community library, and the private library. Of these, the clan community library has yet received very little attention in the study of Korean libraries. In this study the author discusses the purposes, functions, and collections of the clan community library to clarify what that particular type of old libraries in Korea was. The clan community library functioned within individual clan communities to give young people Korean traditional education protecting them from possible influences of. Japanese version of Western scholarship which had threatened the traditional value systems of the society. The author believes that the clan community library was a unique community institution created by Korean people, and the Korean public library movement should trace its origin back to the activities of the libraries. Unfortunately the growing suppression and control of the Japanse colonial regime upon the traditional schools made the purposes and development of the clan community library movement a tragic experience before its flowering. The clan community library was a Korean native public library which came out in response to a historical situation and community need. It may deserve more attention in future study of the national library movement of Korea.

In order to find out the status of health care of the old aged people (age of 65 and over) in a rural area, a study was carried out, through analyzing the data of health care clinic for 207 old aged people with geriatric diseases, and of questionnired survey for 84 old aged people with geriatric diseases in a rural community. Su Dong-Myun. Nam Yang Zu-Gun, Kyung Gi-Do, Korea, during the year of 1989. The following results were obtained. 1) The composition rate of population of age of 65 and over was 9.8% in total, and sex-specific composition rate was 9.3% in male and 10.4% in female. 2) Utilization rate of health care clinic for old aged people with geriatric diseases was the highest rate with 37.9%, through individual letters at the first time, and showed gradually decreasing tendency afterward. 3) In the means of utilization advices to health care clinic for the old aged people. the individual letters(37.9%) at the first time were more effective than public information of the old aged hall or/and Myun office(18.4%). 4) In opinion on utilization of health subcenter-health care clinic for the old aged people "will utilize"(59.5%) was the highest and "do not know"(26.2%) "be difficult to utilize" (9.5%) and "will not utilize"(4.8%) were in the next order. 5) Out of 84 respondents, the old aged people With geriatric diseases, 73.8%(about three-fourths) of them answered "their diseases to the aggravated" (29.8%) "not to be changed"(25.0%) and "to be unknown"(19.0%), and the others(26.2% of them) "to be changed for the better". 6) Out of 62 respondents(the old aged people), answered their geriatric diseases not to be changed for the better, "no curative effect" was the highest with 43.5% of them. "could not know" (33.9%), "would not treat"(19.4%) and "could not be treated"(4.8%) were in decreasing order. 7) The old aged people, responded their diseases to be changed for the better, answered that they(patients) should make themselves(68.2%) responsible for basic effort of health care. However the old aged people responded their diseases not to be changed for the better answered that they should impute the responsibility of basic effort for health care to medical facilities or other conditions(63.0%). 8) In the reason of failure that the old aged people responded their geriatric diseases not to have curative effect, mis-control of regular habits of daily life was the highest(57.1%), and failure of taking selected medicine steadily(28.6%), and abuse of medicines(14.3%) were in decreasing order. 9) The reason order of being changed for the better that the old aged people responded their diseases to have curative effect, was keeping and control of regular habits of daily life (46.7%), taking selected medicines steadily(33.3%) and others (20.2%) respectively. 10) The courses of geriatric diseases itself are so chronic, duplicate and uncertain, and the old aged people activities for disease control are so slow, various and uncertain that continuous health education in home or/and community unit must be essential factors for effective geriatric health care.

Since 2008, a communal child care and 'Family Pumasi' program have been conducted as a pilot project for the Healthy Family Support Center. These programs have been positioned as a step toward a family friendly community project. For the Healthy Family Support Centers, a family friendly community project is an essential program as a part of the policies in response to the country's low fertility. However, the people in charge face difficulties, because they do not have much experience in such projects. This study attempted to explore the preferences regarding interior and exterior apartment spaces, and neighborhood environment to provide information about how to better implement a family friendly community program. For this purpose, data were collected from 418 housewives who are apartment dwellers in Daejeon city. The results were as follows; first, the person in charge must consider child care facilities, culture, and sports centers in order to start building a community lifestyle. Second, people with relatively low levels of education and short terms of residence are more deeply motivated by community lifestyle compared to others. Third, families with their first young child showed much interest in communal child care facilities. If the people in charge can motivate and encourage such residents to be engaged in family friendly community projects, the project will effectively progress.
Purpose. This study aims to explore Situations and Problems of the Community Senior Citizen Center as the senior health care and the Elderly's Leisure status. Then, aims to arrange Activation Vitalization Plan of the senior's leisure in Community Senior Citizen Center. Methods. The literature and data used in this study was based on a questionnaire survey, mostly from Gyeongki-Do Community Senior Citizen Center Branch and statistical research data. Literature review and analysis frequency was by reference to the paperback and academic papers related to the senior health welfare. Results. First, the period of the seniors with the Community Senior Citizen Center as health facilities has appeared in 6-10years(32.8%), followed by the response showing that more than 10years(32.4%). Therefore, it reveals that the senior live in the same region in the long term. Second, the number of days that the senior health care the Community Senior Citizen Center has been used by the senior was over 5days. This result was supported by 608people(61.7%). Both men and women replied that they use the health center more than five days. Third, the number of the senior who responded that they use the Community Senior Citizen Center as health facilities 629people(63.9%). They replied that they use the facilities mostly afternoon. The senior use the facilities all day appeared to 263people(26.7%). Conclusions. It seems like that there needs to be a variety of personalized programs that can be added to increase the life satisfaction of the senior participation in leisure programs for the Community Senior Citizen Center as senior health facilities in the future. Additionally, the government needs to require a wide range of financial support for the Community Senior Citizen Center as senior health care and devise the strategies that will lead the health center for the senior need to be actively utilized.
This study examines how online community activity influences social capital and the moderating effect of personal characteristic between them. Hierarchical regression and two-way ANOVA analysis were conducted with 9,479 samples. The results show that online community activity positively associated with off-line social capital, and it is observed that the effect in older people is stronger than younger people. This study extends previous perspective on the online community activity toward social capital and empirically proves that the activity have also an impact on off-line social capital. The moderating effect of age implies that activation plans of community for older people are required in order to increase social capital.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify differences in BMI between early and late elderly people, and factors having influence of them. Methods: This study is an analysis of secondary data that used the raw materials from the KNHANES from 2008 to 2010. The subjects involved in the final analysis were 4,772 elders aged 65 or higher. Descriptive statistics, $x^2$-test and F-test, and CSGLM from the complex sample design were used for the data analysis with SPSS/WIN 19.0. Results: Significant differences were observed in the socio-demographic characteristics, health behaviors and diet habits between early and late elderly people. Adjusted for gender, location of residence, and living alone, the factors that affected BMI of the early elderly people included current smoking status, number of disease, difficulty in chewing, and number of meals per day while those that affected BMI of the late elderly people were current smoking status, number of disease, self-rated health, and difficulty in chewing. Conclusion: The study concludes that we should consider age-specific traits for monitoring the weight status of the elderly and providing appropriate weight management programs for the elderly.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of self-efficacy, health attitudes and healthy lifestyles on recovery of people with mental disorders in the community. Methods: Participants were 188 people with mental disorders receiving mental health services at community mental health welfare centers in the J province. The data were collected from May to June, 2018. Self-report questionnaires were used to measure general self-efficacy, health attitude scale, healthy lifestyles and recovery. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA with $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results: Self-efficacy, health attitudes, and healthy lifestyle of people with mental disorders were significant factors, explained about 72% of the variance on recovery. Conclusion: These findings suggest that education programs and health promotion programs focused on healthy lifestyles, improving health attitudes, and self-efficacy should be developed for people with mental disorders to promote their recovery.

This study analyzed the factors affecting urban residents' expectations and participation in community gardens to present basic data of guidelines for community garden management. Urban citizens valued the necessity of community gardens overall, especially residents with outdoor gardens. The experience of private gardens was important in perceiving the need for community gardens, which are public spaces. The creation of community gardens had high expectations for social aspects such as improving quality of life, health promotion, and community revitalization. In particular, residents living in individual housing have high expectations for revitalization of the community, and community gardens can be a mediator for forming and maintaining local communities. Through this, the citizens' perception on the role and function of the garden as a community space could be examined. Expectations for quality of life, health promotion, and community revitalization are factors affecting the necessity of community garden. Participation was high in the creation and management of the community garden, and the necessity of community gardens, expectation for community revitalization, and expectation for environmental purification are factors that affect participation in the management of community gardens. The amount of donations that the residents are willing to pay for community garden management was KRW 75,222 /year on average. Overall, residents with higher need for community gardens and higher social expectation showed higher participation. Urban citizens have high expectations for community gardens, and they perceive the importance of social aspects more than personal aspects such as community revitalization and quality of life. As a strategy for increasing community involvement, it is necessary to set up the processes, determine participants' composition and roles, and establish a system to promote participation. Considering welfare aspects such as community revitalization and improvement of residents' quality of life, motivation and administrative support for participation in the creation and management of community gardens will serve as important factors.
To vitalize the link program of Korean long-term care insurance system to community-based services for non-eligible people, we analysed the claim data from the Korean National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC), and conducted a questionnaire survey to charging employees of elderly service department at local governments. The subjects were all 81,377 people, 57,454 of them were arranged to community-based services. The link program was more necessary among the missed subjects rather than the arranged people due to the need for physical or psychological assistance. By the result of the survey to the local government employees, 59.5% of subjects responded their proportion of link service was over 10% and under 20%, and 54.3% of them responded their job boundary are not clear. Major type of linking was notification the subject list to local government, 91.4%; proportion of periodical notification on the status of their service link were 57.1%, only 7.1% were followed to manage after the link. Difficult factors at the link process were pointed out the overload by other side work, deficiency of resources, rigidity of priority of link, and so on. Considering these results, to vitalize the community-based services to the non-eligible people, it may be essential the active participation of the subjects, construction of parts working in coordination among the institutions including NHIC, local governments, and service providers; development of various services for maintenance or promotion of the non-eligible peoples' health and functional status; and active participation of institutions from the third sector, and so on.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the oral health status of the disabled people in Ulsan. Methods : Two dentists taken a calibration training for national oral health survey examined the Oral health status on 110 disabled people in Ulsan, in 2009. The surveyed disabled people, 6 to 19 years old, have been supplied with the oral health care services by dentists, oral hygienists and volunteers at dental clinics of schools and a dental clinic supported from Ulsan Metropolitan City Nam-Gu Health Center since 1997. The obtained data from these surveys were analyzed with the SPSS statistical package. Results : Among subjects aged 12-14 years, DMF rate was 38.2%; Active D rate, 17.6%; DMFT index, 1.15; DT rate, 33.33%; MT rate, 0.00%; FT rate, 66.67%. Oral heath status of disabled people in Ulsan were evaluated to be a similar level to the Ulsan non-disabled citizens from 2010 Korean National Survey. Conclusions : The oral health care programs for disabled people using voluntary dentists, oral hygienists and other workers in Ulsan are evaluated to be effective for the disabled people.
