  • Latest technological innovation in the development of compact lower power radios has led to the explosion of Internet of Things. With Wi-Fi, Zigbee and other physical layer protocols offering short coverage area there was a need for a RF protocol that had a larger coverage area with low power consumption. LoRa offers Long Range with lower power consumption. LoRa offers point to point and point to multipoint connections. with Single hop communication in place the need for routing protocols are eliminated. LoRa Wide Area Network stack can accommodate thousands of nodes under a single LoRa gateway with a single hop communication between the end nodes and LoRaWAN gateway. This paper takes an experimental approach to analyze the basic physical layer parameters of LoRa and the practical coverage offered by a LoRaWAN under highly dense urban conditions with variable topography. The insights gained from the practical deployment of the LoRaWAN network, and the subsequent performance analysis is used to design a novel public utility monitoring platform. The second half of the papers is designing a robust platform to integrate both existing wired sensor water meters, current and future generation wireless water meters. The Common Automated Metering Platform is designed to integrate both wired sensors and wireless (LoRaWAN and Wi-Fi) supported water meters. This integrated platform reduces the number of nodes under each LoRaWAN gateway and thus improves the scalability of the network. This architecture is currently designed to accommodate one utility application but can be modified to integrate multi-utility applications.

  • An efficient pipeline MDC Radix-4 FFT structure is proposed in this paper. Every stages in pipeline FFT structure consists of delay' commutator and butterfly. Proposed butterflies in front and rear stages utilize CORDIC and Common Sub-expression Sharing(CSS) techniques, respectively. It is shown that proposed butterfly structure can reduce the number of adders through sharing common patterns of CSD type coefficients. The Verilog-HDL modeling and Synopsys logic synthesis results that the proposed structure show 48.2% cell area reduction in the complex multiplication part and 22.1% cell area reduction in overall 256-point FFT structure comparison with those of the conventional structures. Consequently, the proposed FFT structure can be efficiently used in various OFDM systems.

  • As three-dimensional range scanners make large point clouds a more common initial representation of real world objects, a need arises for algorithms that can efficiently process point sets. In this paper, we present a method for extracting smooth surfaces from dense point clouds. Given an unorganized set of points in space as input, our algorithm first uses principal component analysis to estimate the surface variation at each point. After defining conditions for determining the geometric compatibility of a point and a surface, we examine the points in order of increasing surface variation to find points whose neighborhoods can be closely approximated by a single surface. These neighborhoods become seed regions for region growing. The region growing step clusters points that are geometrically compatible with the approximating surface and refines the surface as the region grows to obtain the best approximation of the largest number of points. When no more points can be added to a region, the algorithm stores the extracted surface. Our algorithm works quickly with little user interaction and requires a fraction of the memory needed for a standard mesh data structure. To demonstrate its usefulness, we show results on large point clouds acquired from real-world objects.

  • Purpose ; Iension-type headache is the most common headache. The effect of acupuncture for headache is already known, but the methods and technique of acupuncture is varied. Choice of acupuncture points is mostly relied on experience. Moreover, objective evaluation of acupuncture effects is lacking. Objective ; The objective of this study is to assess the difference of effects between dry needling on trigger point and dry needling on remote acupuncture point. The patients who were diagnosed as tension-type headache and administrated herb-medication were divided into two groups: Trigger point dry needling group and remote acupuncture point dry needling group, matching in sex, age. The degree of pain was measured by visual analogue scale(VAS) two times, before and after dry needling. Conclusion ; VAS showed significant decrement after dry needling on tension-type headache in both groups, but there was no statistically significant difference between two groups according to sex, age and duration. In addition, it is not statistically approved that there exists the difference of VAS between two groups about the treatment effects.

  • Let (X,d) be a metric space and let T be a mapping from X into itself. We say that a metric space (X,d) is T-orbitally complete if every Cauchy sequence of the form ${T^{n_i}x}_{i \in N}$ for $x \in X$ converges to a point in X.

  • In this paper, we prove common fixed point theorems for families of occasionally weakly compatible mappings in Menger spaces using implicit relation. Our results extend and generalize the results of Altun and Turkoglu [9] in the sense that the concept of occasionally weakly compatible maps is the most general among all the commutativity concepts. Also the completeness of the whole space, continuity of the involved maps and containment of ranges amongst involved maps are completely relaxed.

  • In this paper, we show that the modified Mann iteration with errors converges strongly to fixed point for uniformly L-Lipschitzian asymptotically $\Phi$-pseudocontractive mappings in real Banach spaces. Meanwhile, it is proved that the convergence of Mann and Ishikawa iterations is equivalent for uniformly L-Lipschitzian asymptotically $\Phi$-pseudocontractive mappings in real Banach spaces. Finally, we obtain the convergence theorems of Ishikawa iterative sequence and the modified Ishikawa iterative process with errors.

  • We prove that if RUC(S) has a left invariant mean ${\rho}={T_{S} : s \;{\in}\; S}$ is a continuous repesentation of S as nonexpansive map-pings on a closed convex subset C of a p-uniformly convex and p-uniformly smooth Banach space and C contains an element of bounded orbit then C contains a common fixed point for ${\rho}$.
