With a view to creating beautiful farm villages, this study aims to exploit space syntax and thereby establish a systematic plan for refurbishing common farming facilities in farm villages by expanding a remodeling plan that has so far been focused on farm houses to cover different villages as well as in spatial scope. For this purpose, the study has extracted a system of categories for common ownership facilities in farm villages and applicable elements needed for collaboration in the space of joint production by performing a comprehensive analysis of related literature for the purpose of researching the distribution of common farming facilities. Based on such categorization of applicable elements, the study conducted a field survey of the four types of farm villages such as suburban area (Hwaseong), inland farming-centered area (Jeungpyeong), coastal & plain area (Goheung), and mid-mountain area (Gangneung), through group discussions by participating researchers and field pilot surveys. Also, space analysis has come up with measurements based on the five criteria of integration, local integration, control, connectivity, and spatial depth. And a plan for type-specific remodelling of common farming facilities has been drawn up through standardization based on the values in integration for different villages and spatial depth for common farming facilities. The significance of the current study consists in identifying how the location of common farming facilities influences the characteristics of different villages in terms of spatial structure and then drawing up guidelines for planning their placement.
The purpose of this study is to examine and investigate the characteristics of locational facilities and the purchase and leisure patters of residents with its focus on downtown streets of Yeongam-eup which is a eup-level small town. In the subject downtown streets, commercial and residential functions coexisted. While most locational facilities were small-scale sale(buy), food(eat), and employment(public institutions) facilities which were needed for neighborhood life and supporting daily life, the lack of facilities which supported leisure life(enjoy) and represented small town identity was found. The most common frequency of using downtown streets by residents was 'almost everyday'; the most common intention to use was 'to purchase daily things'; and the most common purchase good was 'groceries', followed by farming machines, books, and stationery. It suggested that the use of downtown streets was characterized by daily neighborhood life. In particular, it was found that expensive goods(more than 500,000 won) were commonly purchased in neighboring middle or large cities. Thus, it is necessary to consider the option and professionality of goods. Finally, it is necessary to consider residents' accessibility through reorganizing a street form from car-focused to pedestrian-focused.
This research is to analyze the spatial organization of a traditional rural community and its characteristics, the case of Hanbam village located in the north of Daegu city. The conclusions of this study are as follows; 1. The difference between private space and public space in the residential area of Hanbam village is obvious, and these two spaces are organically related each other by means of road. These spaces have some spatial characteristics of organization, such as center, hierarchy and sequence. 2. The private space consists of a residence module and a farming area in the settlement, and it is clearly farmed by the firm fence of rocks and by surrounding roads. Fruit-bearing trees such as Pyrus pyrifolia, Cornus officinalis, Diospyros kaki, Juglans sinensis are planted at the boundary. And most of residences are composed of a building, a inner court and farming fields. 3. The public space for the community mainly functions as ‘a meeting place’for residents, and consists of recreational spaces, ceremonial spaces, community facilities, and social facilities. Among these, Jeong-ja(pavilion), Seong-an Soop(forest) and Dae-chong(building for common use) are of great cultural value as important traditional spaces. 4. Two kinds of road are commonly fecund in the village; spontaneously generated one and planned one. This is straight inner streets and access paths to the village, and that is curvilinear alleys which are connected to Dae-chong, the core of village. Also stone walls and climbing plants on them are major elements of village landscape.
This study examined the present condition and problems of rural apartment house through documentary survey and considered the social necessity and concept of rural apartment housing. The aim of this study is to suggest the social necessity and spatial composition factor of rural apartment housing. The results of this study are as follows. First, rural apartment houses are generally adjacent to production and natural environments, and tend to be constructed in small complex of 50 households or less with the lack of convenient facilities. Second, the ultimate goal of rural apartment housing plans is to improve the livability, community, sustainability and rurality on the basis of the basic direction of rural areas. Third, it is necessary to install storages within the apt. complex and secure a buffer zone where people can wash their hands before entering the houses. Fourth, rural apartment housing should adopt the space components of auxiliary facilities including storages for agricultural products and farming appliances, common workshops, field attached to home, and washrooms in consideration of the conditions of rural areas different from urban apartment housing.
The purpose of this study is to make a proposal for the planning of the back-to-farming community village. For this study of a community village designed by residents, the information on the residents' participation and the role of a coordinator in the whole planning process of the community village were investigated, based on the rural village development policy. The community village studied here is located at Sannae-myeon, Namwon-city in Jeonbuk-do. Interviews were answered by 17 households and a process coordinator. The results are as follows. 1) The process coordinator participated in the project on the design of village, permission documentation, and construction from the beginning. The coordinator and residents met every month, and discussed the respective housing and the village environment regulation. 2) Every house has its own plan, but the architectural coordinator's counseling and coordination in the planning process resulted in higher participation. Function of common spaces were determined by residents' participation. Finally, common spaces consist of 2 buildings that one would have as much as open spaces to accommodate as many as residents' activities and the other have business facilities. 3) The political assistance is needed to activate construction of resident-participation typed community villages; development of the conflict coordination program and coordinator education program for operation & planning.
In the past, marine pollution caused by radioactivity and wastewater discharge caused mass destruction. As an alternative, the land farming system became common and operational. In recent years, safety and environmental problems caused by declining population due to aging of fishermen and underdeveloped facilities have always been lurking, so improvement is urgently needed. As part of the new renewable energy 3020 plan announced by the government in 2017, a new model was proposed to improve the environment as well as save energy when the roof of a water tank farm was remodeled into a solar power system. Study, when the existing roof was remodeled and replaced with a water tank farm in Busan as an empirical model, the energy saving rate was analyzed by comparing the actual electricity consumption and power generation.
Currently the forest area is 6,370,000 hectare (ha) which occupies 63.7% in Korea. The forest has good functions such as production of forest products, conservation of national land, prevention of disasters, etc. However constructing houses near the forest area make bad situation like illegal waste incineration by resident. So research subject is forest fire caused by waste incineration place including facility. And this study was conducted about statistical analysis and research analysis of the 100 waste incineration places including facilities at the country town. Statistical analysis shows that March is 27% which percentage is the highest number of forest fire in 10 years' average. The number of forest fire caused by waste incineration is 45 which is the third highest number in the fire statistic. The distance between waste incineration place including facility and forest area is 30m, 40m and 50m. That 40m (36%) is the most common distance from forest area. The types of waste incineration are ground (62%), the temporary facility made with oil drum can (35%) and other made with steel sheet, concrete, etc. The result of this study is that government and local government must conduct the improvement measure to reduce illegal incineration such as waste pickup area made with rain and wind proof type installed near residence, expenses for waste treatment, enlightenment and training, etc. Also considering their age and income are needed for realistic improvement.

The purpose of this study is to draw a small park plan through community participation. In concrete, this study tries to find out the demand of the residents about their small park plan, observe the changes in their demand in the process of debate and analyze the effect of the residents' participation. Small group workshop method was adopted in the study and three groups were set up and surveys were made in two stages. Two dimensional pictogram cards and three dimensional digital park formation tools were used. The results of workshop study indicated as follows: Firstly, residents wanted to have community farming garden, green house and flower garden to grow plants, natural walls and safe resting facilities. Secondly, individual and diverse opinions presented at first could be converted to common opinions through mutual exchanges of opinions in the process of debates. Thirdly, digital park formation program functioned well as an effective visual tool to draw the attention and quick responses of the residents and to reach an agreement. It is expected that the results of this study show the effectiveness of residents' participation tools in the process of drawing agreements in the community society that requires the residents' demands and agreement and this study will be usefully utilized in planning community spaces with residents' participation hereafter.
The main aim of this study is to propose the improvement guidelines for the rural communit;- facilities(short as RCFs) in the village level. 28 villages were selected in consideration of the travelling distance to the nearest city, farming types and percentage of farm to total land. Through the analyses of the physical conditions and utilizing practices of RCFs in case villages, the tentative improvement guidelines were finally formulated. The major results of the study were summarized as follows ' 1. Most villagers thought the village hall and Jungjamok(Korean-style outdoor rest point) being centrally located, which was reflected in their high satisfaction with the accessibility to RCFs.However, they evaluated that above two places were too small and old for normal use, so set forth their views of high dissatisfaction on the scale of RCFs, 2. Analyses results of the survey in the study showed the ranking order of service level of RCFs as following; the village hall l rest building for the aged 1 rural-pocket park 1 village store / playground. And the need for cultural function was much more highly expressed than merely meeting function. 3. Considering together with the analysis results of this study and the related referencing guidelines, it is proposed to introduce the village hall, shop, and village store as basic ones of RCFs in the village level, which should form a single complex connected mutually and functionally each other.
