It will become necessary for farmers to adopt information technology into commercialized farming system, since its productivity is increasingly linked to how to exploit the agricultural information. The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of information technology and to suggest ways to utilize the information technology for innovative farm management. Internet should become more important instruments which farmers might utilize in order to collect and mine the agricultural information because of its rapidity, reliability and precision. Also farmers should be encouraged to adopt a GIS-based farm management decision support system and to integrate the market information and geographic information such as soil, water, temperature, etc. for optimal decision making. Another way of improving farm management is to make farmers use agricultural accounting software for individual farmers and develop farming simulation system which analyze a farmer's current financial condition and suggest how to improve it. Making home page would be major marketing strategy for farmers to promote the sales of agricultural products.
This study was conducted to monitor 284 pesticides residue level in 2,914 commercial agricultural products in the northern area of Seoul in 2011 by the multi class pesticide multiresidue analysis methods in Korea Food Code using GC, HPLC, GC-MSD and, LC-MSD. The detection rate of pesticide residues were 14.8% (431/2,914). The order of agricultural products in which the pesticide residues were detected was perilla leaves 40.0% (28/70), chamnamul 35.5% (11/31), amaranth 30.0% (3/10) and spinach 27.7% (38/137) etc. The percentage of products that exceeded the MRLs (maximum residue limits) were 1.0% (31/431). Those products that exceeded MRLs were ginseng (6), perilla leaves (4), leek (4), welsh onion (3) and sedeum (3) etc. The 59 kinds of the pesticides were detected on this study, 21 pesticides of them were detected over MRLs. Detection rate of fungicides (56.4%) was higher than that of insecticides (42.1%). And procymidone was detected with considerable high frequency. Additionally, residual residual violates pesticides were in the order of tolclofos-methyl, endosulfan, dimethomorph, diniconazole and fludioxonil. According to the agricultural marketing channels, detection and excess rate of them were monitored. Detection and excess rate of samples circulated in agricultural traditional market were highest. The estimated daily intakes (EDI) of the pesticides were compared to personal acceptable daily intakes (PADI) in order to risk assessment by food consumption. Diazinon in Korean cabbage showed the highest %ADI, 2.9901 and others showed below 3.0 %ADI. Overall, these results indicate that residue levels of pesticides detected were evaluated as safe.
The traditional farming method has very long history in the process of agricultural development. The application of chemical fertilizers production became most popular to increase quantities of agricultural production. The United States of America is one of largest countries in the world. There are at present 50 States and farming conditions are very different from each individual States. There are increasing trend of agricultural production by applying chemical fertilizers as well as sprays during last 50 years(1940-90). The disadvantages of conventional farming method were to destroy nature and human life. There were some other kinds of disadvantages such as nitriated contamination in drinking water both for human being and animals. The alternative farming method is one of new farming method reducing and/of non-application of chemical fertilizers and sprays in agricultural production. There is less economic research on alternative farming system about $5.444 economic advatages in organic farms comparing commercial farms at the same area. There are advantage of higher unit price level in orgnic products, decreasing chemical costs as well as effect of crop combinations. It is certainly necessary to have more empirical research on economic and management of alternative farming method in the United States of America. However, if there is economic advantage in alternative farming methods, the future development possibility of alternative farming method can be very bright in vear future. There might be more advantages such as soil conservation, better quality of agricultural products, better health conditions of farmer's and consumer's as well as keeping healthy environment of rural and urban areas.
This study was carried out to investigate the current status of suspected endocrine disrupting pesticides among the agricultural products in northern area of Seoul in 2007. 3,026 samples was analyzed by multiresidue method. Detected Pesticide in 11 cases were procymidone, endosulfan, chlorothalonil, chlorpyrifos, cyermethrin, fenvalerate, hexaconazole, carbendazim, pendimethalin, permethrin, parathion and exceeded 7 cases of endosulfan, procymidone, carbendazim, chlorothalonil, chlorpyrifos, cypermethrin, fenvalerate in the maximum residue limits(MRLs). Procymidone, endosulfan, chlorothalonil and chlorpyrifos comprised up to 80.5% in detected pesticides. Among the 321 cases of detected agricultural products, 287 cases(89.4%) were vegetables, 25 cases (7.8%) were fruits, Others were 9 cases(2.8%).

Through the five years analysis of monitoring data on pesticide residues from 1998 to 2002, current status on pesticide residues on commercial agricultural products in Seoul area was evaluated. The rate of over maximum residue limits(MRLs) has been decreased into 5.8% in 1998, 2.5% in 1999, 1.6% in 2000, 1.4% in 2001, and 1.5% in 2002 gradually, where as total sample numbers analyzed increased 1,300 in 1998, 4,200 in 1999, 5740 in 2000, 6,160 in 2001, and 5,440 in 2002 annually, The pesticide which frequently detected in samples were endosulfan, procymidone, chlorotalonil, vinclozolin, and chlorpyriphos and pesticide found over MRLs were procymidone, vinclozolin, endosulfan and etc.
Agricultural Co-operation chain stores were highly the utility of distribution rationalization for commercial distribution by informatisation and by multi-polarizied of large physical distribution center of Inventory intensive type consisted of intensive physical distribution. and transportation of commodities from physical distribution center have act by outsourcing. Therefore, the methods of distribution of commodities of life and agricultural products are distinguished from route distribution and regular time collective distribution. the method of distribution is formated the distribution field b\ulcorner characteristic of commodity. On the other hand, spatial characteristics by sales activities of commodities was clarified by types of stole commodity according to level of paddy agriculture development and level of service industrial employment. But manufactured foodstuffs and miscellaneous goods. that is commodities of life clarified the fact selling that is not influenced by regional type.

The giant mealworm beetle, Zophobas atratus (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae), is reared for commercial purposes as a live feed for animals. In 2011, it was officially introduced in Korea, and since then it has been considered commercially important. This beetle is a good animal feed resource because of its high protein content with balanced nutrients. However, its life stage characteristics have not been clearly described, especially of the larval stage that can be used as commercial products. To this end, in our study, we determined the number of Z. atratus larval instars, and described their characteristics at each stage, providing basic information about this beetle. Z. atratus larvae required eight to nine d of incubation period before hatching. The first instar period comprised three to four d. There were relatively large variations in each instar period, except for the first instar. Before the adults emerged, most of the individuals passed through15 to 18 instars. The highest pupation rate, 25.71%, was observed in both 16th and 17th instars. Body length gradually increased with each successive instar and it reached its maximum at the 18th instar. The color of larvae was white at the first instar, and gradually turned brown after the second instar.

In this study, we constructed a process simulation model for an agricultural by-products based Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) combined heat and power generation system as part of the introduction of technology for energy self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector. The aim was to reduce the burden of increasing fuel and electricity consumption due to rapid fluctuations in international oil prices and the expansion of smart farming in domestic farms, while contributing to the national greenhouse gas reduction goals. Based on the experimental results of 0.3 ton/day torrefied agricultural by-product gasification experiment, a model for an agricultural by-product-based SOFC cogeneration system was constructed, and optimization of the heat exchange network was conducted for SOFC capacities ranging from 4 to 20 kW. The results indicated that an 8 kW agricultural by-product-based SOFC cogeneration system was optimal under the current system conditions. It is anticipated that these research findings can serve as foundational data for future commercial facility design.
Pesticide residues were monitored in dried red pepper and pepper powder samples purchased in Northern Gyeonggi-do and from domestic online markets. The QuEChERS method was used to prepare 88 samples. GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS were used to analyze 338 pesticide residues. In the study, pesticide residues were detected in 70 samples (79.5%), with residues exceeding the maximum residue limits (MRL) in 4 samples (4.5%). Pesticide levels exceeded the MRL in imported samples, with two samples of dried red pepper and two samples of pepper powder showing elevated levels. Among the 61 pesticides detected, tebuconazole, a fungicide was most frequently detected (52 times). Tricyclazole, which is used to control the main disease affecting rice, exceeding the MRL in 3 of 12 Vietnam-origin samples. Ethion exceeded the MRL in one Indian-origin sample. Both tricyclazole and ethion are banned for use in pepper products in Korea and are regulated under the positive list system (PLS). Conversely, pesticides detected in domestic samples were within the MRLs. Therefore, authorities should monitor pesticide residues in imported red pepper products.
Ninety three strains (4.2%) of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were isolated from 2,239 samples of commercial marine products during 2006-2008 in Seoul, Korea. We examined 16 antimicrobial susceptibilities of 93 V. parahaemolyticus isolates. Antibiotic resistance of V. parahaemolyticus was most frequently observed to ampicillin (93.5%), followed by cephalothin (90.3%), streptomycin (87.1%), ticarcillin (55.9%), and amikacin (40.9%). Antibiotic susceptibility was most frequently observed to nalidixic acid, chloramphenicol and ampicillin/sulbactam (100%), followed by trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (98.9%), gentamicin and tetracycline (82.8%), and ceftriaxone (63.4%). In addition, the isolates also displayed intermediate resistance to kanamycin (79.6%), ciprofloxacin (64.5%), amikacin (47.3%) and cefoxitin (43.0%). All isolates were resistant to more than two drugs. The most prominent multiple drug resistance was 3 drug resistance (37.6%), followed by 4 drug (24.7%), 5 drug (17.2%), and 6 drug resistance (11.8%). The most prominent multiple drug resistance pattern was the cephalothin-streptomycin-ampicillin resistance pattern (22.6%), followed by cephalothinticarcillin-streptomycin-ampicillin (18.3%) and cephalothin-ticarcillin-streptomycin-ampicillin-amikacin (9.7%). Multiple drug resistance patterns of V. parahaemolyticus from marine products require continuous monitoring.
