The previous research has been mainly focused on individual technology of voice recognition, voice synthesis, translation, and bone transmission technical. Recently, commercial models have been produced using aforementioned technologies. In this research, a new automated translation support system concept has been proposed by combining established technology of bone transmission and wireless system. The proposed system has following three major components. First, the hybrid system consist of headset, bone transmission and other technologies will recognize user's voice. Second, computer recognized voice (using small server attached to the user) of the user will be converted into digital signal. Then it will be translated into other user's language by translation algorithm. Third, the translated language will be wirelessly transmitted to the other party. The transmitted signal will be converted into voice in the other party's computer using the hybrid system. This hybrid system will transmit the clear message regardless of the noise level in the environment or user's hearing ability. By using the network technology, communication between users can also be clearly transmitted despite the distance.

A conventional sliding mode control approach is often impractical or difficult when it is applied to high order process b because the number of tuning parameters in the sliding mode controller increases with the order of the plant. C Camacho(l996) proposed a design method of a fixed structure sliding mode controller based on a first order plus dead t time approximation to the higher-order process. But, his method has such problems as chattering, over‘shoot, and c command following due to the Taylor the approximation en‘ors for the time delay term of the first order model. In this p paper, a new design technique for a sliding mode controller based on the modified Taylor approximation considered a w weight is developed to improve the Camacho's problems.

North Korea's continuous threats and provocative behaviors have aggravated tension on the Korean peninsula particularly with the recent nuclear weapons test. South Korea's best way to cope with this situation is to maintain the balance among three policy directions: dialogue, sanctions, and deterrence. Among the three, I argue that deterrence should be prioritized. There are different sources of deterrence such as military power, economic power, and diplomatic clouts. States can build deterrence capability independently. Alternatively, they may do so through relations with other states including alliances, bilateral relations, or multilateral relations in the international community. What South Korea needs most urgently is to maintain deterrence against North Korea's local provocations through the enhancement of independent military capability particularly by addressing the asymmetric vulnerability between militaries of the South and the North. Most of all, the South Korean government should recognize the seriousness of the negative consequences that North Korea's 'Nuclear shadow strategy' would bring about for the inter-Korea relations and security situations in Northeast Asia. Based on this understanding, it should develop an 'assertive deterrence strategy' that emphasizes 'multi-purpose, multi-stage, and tailored deterrence whose main idea lies in punitive retaliation.' This deterrence strategy requires a flexible targeting policy and a variety of retaliatory measures capable of taking out all targets in North Korea. At the same time, the force structures of the army, the air force, and the navy should be improved in a way that maximizes their deterrence capability. For example, the army should work on expanding the guided missile command and the special forces command and reforming the reserve forces. The navy and the air force should increase striking capabilities including air-to-ground, ship-to-ground, and submarine-to-ground strikes to a great extent. The marine corps can enhance its deterrence capability by changing the force structure from the stationary defense-oriented one that would have to suffer some degree of troop attrition at the early stage of hostilities to the one that focuses on 'counteroffensive landing operations.' The government should continue efforts for defense reform in order to obtain these capabilities while building the 'Korean-style triad system' that consists of advanced air, ground, and surface/ subsurface weapon systems. Besides these measures, South Korea should start to acquire a minimum level of nuclear potential within the legal boundary that the international law defines. For this, South Korea should withdraw from the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty. Moreover, it should obtain the right to process and enrich uranium through changing the U.S.-South Korea nuclear cooperation treaty. Whether or not we should be armed with nuclear weapons should not be understood in terms of "all or nothing." We should consider an 'in-between' option as the Japanese case proves. With regard to the wartime OPCON transition, we need to re-consider the timing of the transition as an effort to demonstrate the costliness of North Korea's provocative behaviors. If impossible, South Korea should take measures to make the Strategic Alliance 2015 serve as a persisting deterrence system against North Korea. As the last point, all the following governments of South Korea should keep in mind that continuing reconciliatory efforts should always be pursued along with other security policies toward North Korea.

Last year, the Moon Jae-In administration made an attempt to abolish the presidential security office overseeing the presidential security and to transfer the work to the presidential security service under the National Police Agency. Currently, all of the G7 nations maintain a security system spearheaded by the police, so the policy of transferring the presidential security to the National Police Agency may be discussed. However, it is necessary to focus on the following reality. First, the current presidential security system is consisted of the overlapping security organizations classified into (1) inner ring of the presidential security agency, (2) middle ring of the police agency, and (3) outer ring of the capital defense command. If the presidential security agency is abolished, a vacuum will result as per the principle of class. Second, for the efficient security guard of the President, currently, the presidential security agency at the Presidential Security Safety Measure Committee plays the role of coordinating the tasks. If the National Police Agency becomes the control tower of the presidential security, whether command will be available for the military and diplomatic aspects of the presidential security work should also be considered. Third, Korea is currently in a truce with North Korea, so there is a big difference in terms of the security environment with such G7 nations as the UK, Germany, France, and Japan.

After launch of Low Earth Orbit(LEO) satellite, Initial Activation Checkout(IAC) and Calibration and Validation(Cal & Val) procedure are performed prior to enter normal operation phase. During normal operation phase, most of the time is allocated for mission operation except following up measures to anomaly and orbit maintenance. Since mission operation capability is key indicator for success of LEO satellite program and consistent with promotion purpose of LEO satellite program, reliability should be ensured by conducting through test. In order to ensure reliability by examining the role of LEO satellite and ground station during ground test phase, realistic test scenario that is similar to actual operation conditions should be created, and test that aims to verify full mission cycle should be performed by transmitting created command and receiving image and telemetry data. This paper describes the test design and result. Consideration items for test design are described in detail and result of designed test items are summarized.

Background: The aim of this study was to examine whether the effects of acupotomy therapy were beneficial for the treatment of protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc. Methods: The number of patients (n = 80) were equally assigned into treatment group and control group. Treatment group was given acupotomy therapy twice a week, and control group was given acupuncture 3 times a week, for 4 weeks. The beneficial effect and changes in score of the Japan Orthopedic Association (JOA) for low back pain were observed. Results: Among 40 cases in the treatment group, there were 25 (62.5%) with an excellent effect, 13 (32.5%) with good effect, 1 (2.5%) with a medium effect and 1 (2.5%) with poor effect, with the total experiencing an excellent/good effect of 95.0%. Among 40 cases in the control group, there were 11 (27.5%) with an excellent effect, 17 (42.5%) with good effect, 10 (25.0%) with a medium effect, and 2 (5.0%) with poor effect, with an excellent/good rate of 70.0%. The result of the rank sum test showed Z = -4.923, p < 0.05 in the comparison, indicating a significantly better outcome following acupotomy compared with acupuncture. JOA scores increased in both groups after treatment (p < 0.05), which was more significant in the acupotomy treatment group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Acupotomy therapy has a beneficial effect on protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc.

The purpose of this study is to build a special -purpose browser using the powerful Microsoft web browser control so that we will be able to code and create a special-purpose browser. For this development, some literature surveys were reviewed to understand how the web browser looks like and is operated. To create our own web browser, we have designed a sample case and coded in Visual Basic. The primary task of this job was accomplished mainly with a form. It is made up with a bunch of image controls, a status bar on the button, a picture box to contain the image buttons, the combo box, the command button, the menus, the statements shown in the following exhibits and tables of the main text respectively. After combining them all together, we have tested the form to see if it works properly.'rho program was also enhanced to have a special purpose feature that permits the filtering function. The result was somewhat successful. However, it had some limitations such as the simplicity of the programming structures and functions. Overall, this study was useful for understand a general outline of special-purpose web browser development.

Most analytical models of the human body have focused on conscious responses. A patellar tendon reflex, a representative example of spinal reflexes, occurs without a neural command. Muscle forces and activation of the quadriceps femoris muscles in healthy adults during patellar tendon reflex are identified in this study. The model is assumed to move in the sagittal plane, and the thigh and the trunk are assumed to be fixed in a sitting position so that the shank can move similar to a pendulum. The knee joint is modeled as a revolute joint, and the ankle joint is modeled as a fixed joint so that the shank and the foot can be regarded as one rigid body. Muscle forces are calculated following the inverse dynamic approach. Kinematic data obtained from an experiment (Mamizuka, 2007) are used as input data. Muscle activations are identified using a Hill-type muscle model. The obtained simulation results are compared with experimental results for validating the model and the underlying assumptions.

Rapid advances in information and communications technology are new challenges and also opportunities for the police. For the purpose of identifying its implications, this study reviews utilization cases of information and communications technology in the field of public security in South Korea and other countries. As theoretical basis for utilization of information and communications technology, this study introduces intelligence-led policing, predictive policing and evidence-based policing. Also, utilization of big-data based crime analysis and crime prediction technology, as well as advancement of information and communications system and command and control technology of the police, are discussed. Based on the identified implications in this study, the following proposals are made. They are (1) procuring basic data, (2) creating an integrated database, (3) increasing utilization of policy decision-makers, (4) exchange and cooperation between related institutions, (5) training professional analyzers, (6) establishing legal basis and practical guidelines for an integrated database.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the state of father’s role performance and self-esteem of adolescents, to investigate the relation between the father’s role performances recognized by adolescents and the self-esteem of adolescents, and to present the basic data for showing the importance of father’s role in increasing the adolescents’self-esteem. The subject of this survey was 795 male and female students of the second grade in Kwangju middle and high schools. The questionnaire was used for this study as a means of measuring. The results of this study were as follows：1. The degrees of father’s role performances were considered ‘82.19 points’out of 125 by adolescents but rather high by the female students, it didn’t have any significant difference between the male students and female. 2. The degrees of adolescents’ self-esteem were ‘51.17 points’out of 85 on the whole. But specifically, the degrees of adolescents’self-esteem of the male students were higher than those of the female students. This self-esteem of adolescents caused significant differences in the right to the decision-making and the father’s occupation only. 3. The influence of father’s role performances on the adolescents’self-esteem was found very high, and more influence were showed by the female students than by the male students. 4. The order in the effective poser of variables on the adolescents’self-esteem was as following； the role in command and harmony, the sex, the economic role, the role in intellectual ability development. In conclusion, father’s role performance were found to be important variables on the conform adolescents’self-esteem.
