  • Railway is huge traffic system which is operated organically combining all the elements; vehicle, track, electric power, signal/communication, operation, etc. Safety level has been improved steadily by learning lessons from past accident. But with rapid progress in high-speed, massive, high-frequency transit fresh idea of accident prevention is now in order. In quest of effective and efficient countermeasure, we aim to establish an adequate safety evaluation/management method. Our proposals are basic concept relating to safety analysis of fatal accidents, AHP of Saaty, Fuzzy AHP.

  • In this paper, we propose a new communciation scheme combining both MT modulation and DS-CDMA with a concatenated orthogonal/PN spreading sequence. This scheme incorporates the advantages of both DS-CDMA wit a concatenated sequence, and an MT modulation technique to combat the effect of a multipath fading channel. It is shown that he proposed system outperforms the MT-CDMA system with a convetional PN sequence.

  • We fabricated flexible OTFT-backplanes with combining printing technique and conventional photolithography process for the electrophoretic display(EPD). The active area size of backplane was 6" in diagonal direction and consisted of $192{\times}150$ pixels, containing 1 OTFT employed bottom contact structure and 1 capacitance in each pixel.

  • The Internet, as a commercial tool, presented a new market that connects producers with consumers through the E-commerce. Now, E-commerce spreads over almost all industries through the Internet excluding some. This research indicates the reason why the E-commerce is not activated in agricultural Industry, which is less developed than other industries. And it suggests a good example of E-commerce on the agricultural products combining on and off line markets. In addition, data-mining technique is suggested to analyze whole information in system.

  • In this paper we derive a new VAD algorithm, which combines the preprocessing algorithm and the optimum decision rule. To improve the performance of the VAD algorithm we employ the speech enhancement algorithm and then apply the maximal ratio combining technique in the preprocessing procedure, which leads to maximized output SNR. Moreover, we also perform extensive computer simulations to demonstrate the performance improvement of the proposed algorithm under various background noise environments.

  • Instead of Cartesian product for in combining multiple inputs for fuzzy logic controllers, a method using fuzzy relation in inference is proposed. Moreover, fuzzy control rule described by fuzzy relations is derived from given conventional fuzzy control rule by fitting concept. It will be shown through several examples that the proposed technique gives smoother interpolation than conventional ones.

  • Totally robotic esophagectomy is performed using a robotic technique without additional thoracoscopy or laparoscopy. However, most robotic esophagectomies are currently performed in a hybrid form combining robotic and other endoscopic techniques. Laparoscopic stomach mobilization and thoracoscopic esophagogastric anastomosis are commonly used methods in robotic esophagectomy. In this paper, totally robotic esophagectomy without thoracoscopic or laparoscopic assistance is presented.
