소부대 전술 훈련을 위한 개체기반 워게임 모델과 전차시뮬레이터 연동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Integration between an Entity-based War Game Model and Tank Simulators for Small-Unit Tactical Training)

  • In this thesis, we propose an integrated simulation method of virtual tank simulators and an entity-based constructive simulation model for small unit tactical training. To do this, we first identify requirements for virtual-constructive integrated simulation in a synthetic environment. We then propose a virtual and constructive interoperation method where individual combat entities of virtual-constructive models are interacting with each others. We develop a method of aggregating individual combat entities into a larger combat unit and disaggregating an unit into entities from time to time. We also present a way of sharing synthetic environment information between the models. Finally, we suggest that for more effective interoperability, virtual and constructive models should be developed by using common combat object models. The proposed interoperation method can be extended to further live-virtual-constructive models.

  • In defense domain, mission level and engagement level simulation tools exist. In order to experiment a simulation scenario for obtaining results of both mission level and engagement level simulations, we should write a same simulation scenario in a mission level simulation tool as well as an engagement level simulation tool, and we have to operate these tools for analysis of each purpose. Moreover, we could not guarantee that these scenarios are completely same since each scenario is composed of different fidelities of simulation models, although the scenarios are written by a same experimenter and with same simulation purpose. To deal with the difficulties, I propose an approach to analysis of both mission level and engagement level simulations from one simulation result. For this, I have built Composite Combat Mission Planning Simulation Environment (CCMPSE). In this paper, the HLA/RTI based simulation composition technology and my experiences for the designed Composite Combat Mission Planning Simulation Control System (CCMPSCS) are explained. Moreover, This paper also conducts a case study with EADSIM, SADM, and the CCMPSCS. Finally, this paper provides lesson learned from the case study.

  • Todays computer communication technology let people to do many unrealistic things possible and the use of those technologies is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the military operation. Both DIS and ADS are welled defined computer aided military simulations. This study discusses a simulation of stochastic combat network modeling through Internet. We have developed two separate simulation models, one for clients and another for server, and validated for conducting studies with these two models. The object-oriented design was necessary to define the system entities and their relationship, to partition functionality into system entities, and to transform functional metrics into realizations derived from system component behaviors. Heterogeneous forces for each side are assumed at any battle node. The time trajectories for mean number of survivors at each node, some important combat measures, and relative difference computations between models were made. We observe and may conclude that the differences exist and some fo these are significant based on a limited number of experiments.

의사결정나무를 이용한 근접전투전문가시스템 (Developing an Expert System for Close Combat using Decision Tree)

  • 본 논문에서는 훈련용 워게임모델의 근접전투 피해평가를 위한 새로운 근접전투전문가시스템을 제안하였다. 군에서 사용하고 있는 워게임모델에서 피해평가 모의논리는 아주 중요한 모의가능이다. 현재, 육군의 군사단급 워게임모델인 창조21 모델에서는 근접전투 피해평가의 핵심기능이 창조21 모델에서 계산되지 않고, 공개소스와 내부논리를 알 수 없는 미군에서 제작한 근접전투전문가시스템(일명 COBRA)에서 별도로 계산되고, 이 결과가 네트워크를 통해 창조21 모델로 전송되어 근접전투에 대한 피해평가가 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 COBRA를 대체할 수 있는 근접전투전문가시스템을 의사결정나무를 이용해서 제안하였다. 제안하는 시스템은 실험결과 COBRA와 유사한 성능을 보였고, 시스템의 계산량이 적었고 군사작전 상황에 적합하였다.

  • 본 연구는 근접전투 손실 모델링 분야에서 좀 더 개선된 워게임 모델링 방법론을 제시한다. 지금까지 군사 운영분석가들은 랜체스터형 미분 방정식과 같은 방정식 기반 모델링 방법론을 사용해서 전투손실 평가를 하고 있다. 방정식 기반 모델링 방법론은 워게임 모의결과를 분석 및 평가하기는 용이하나 동적인 전장환경을 모의하기에는 다수의 제한사항을 포함하고 있다. 이러한 방정식 기반 모델링 방법론의 결점을 극복하기 위해서 본 연구에서는 에이전트 기반 모델링 방법론을 제시한다. 에이전트 기반 모델링 방법론은 전투손실계수 대신에 전투손실 행위에 기반하여 근접전투를 모델링한다. 2가지 모델링 방법론에 의해서 유사한 근접전투 상황 하에서 모델링 된 자료를 모의하여 비교분석 및 평가한다.

예비역 간부 활용이 군에 미치는 효과 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Use of Reserve Officers on the Military)

  • Korea Ministry of National Defense has directed the state-of-the-art technology Forces troops structures that can respond to security threats in all directions through the Defense Innovation 2.0, which aims to reorganize the personnel and organizations in response to population decline. An implement of effective analysis to maintain combat power is necessary due to possible restrictions on combat power, especially in division of mobilization where reserve manpower is operated frequently. In this study, the normal operations of the reserve officers were investigated, the direct effects of the combat forces of the reserve officers was analyzed using ARENA modeling, and the budget required to operate the innovation and indirect effects of employment of veterans were studied. The result of the simulation proved to be effective in demonstrating unit combat power when the reserve officer was in full-time operations and economic benefits were also significant in terms of efficiency of defense budget management.

  • 실 기동 훈련을 기반으로 획득한 데이터는 전투 또는 워게임 모델링 및 시뮬레이션에 중요한 역할을 지니게 된다. 특히 이들 데이터는 무기체계 분석을 위한 중요한 입력자료로 활용하게 된다. 현존하는 분석모델들은 사격시간간격의 평균값을 상수로 지정하여 적용하여 왔으나 사격시간간격은 기존 확률분포 또는 경험분포로 적합하여 사용함이 보다 현실적이라고 할 수 있다. 실제 전장의 데이터를 획득하기 어려운 여건이므로 실기동 훈련으로 획득된 경험 데이터를 활용할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 본 연구는 확률과정을 따르는 전투상황을 보다 근접하게 모의할 수 있는 새로운 접근방법 및 기법을 연구하고 비교한다. 이 연구는 다양한 혼합 무기체계, 적정 전투의 규모, 그리고 전술적 측면 등을 포함하는 향후 연구과제의 필요성을 제기하면서 이를 위한 첫 번째 단계에 해당하는 기초연구이다.

  • In this paper, we proposed a modeling method of continuous combat simulation by using VENSIM. VENSIM is a CASE tool for developing continuous simulation. It provides a simple and flexible way of building simulation models from causal loop or influence diagram. As a case model, we developed "a prototype model of battle"incorporating infantry, artillery, air defense weapon, aircraft, and guerrilla engagement.ngagement.

  • Weapon systems for future war require operating various war scenarios that are getting complex. Similarly, modeling and simulation technique is getting attention to acquire more effective weapon systems. Several S/W tools exist for simulating small scale engagements which depict a kind of war. However, it is very hard to model combat objects more systematic, and reuse them. To overcome these difficulties, this paper presents a modeling methodology for simulating small scale engagement using the DEVS-formalism. In this paper, we systematically classified and defined combat objects, likewise, explain a framework for a small scale combat simulation.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 전투효과기반 공격헬기 소요 분석방안 (Combat Effectiveness Based Analysis Methodology for Optimal Requirement of Attack Helicopter Using Simulation)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology that can estimate optimal requirement of attack helicopter Korea army will be operating in future. For estimating optimal requirement, attack helicopter's operation concept, performance, battlefield environment and enemy threat are considered. We use a wargame model, AAsim(Army Aviation simulation), as a analytic simulation model which is used to analyze DOTMLPF and operation in army aviation field. In this paper, we conduct battle experiment for anti armored corps operation which reflects attack helicopter's combat effectiveness very well. As a result of simulation, the destructive rate for enemy armored corps per each attack helicopter can be calculated. In this paper, we propose optimal requirement of attack helicopter using that destructive rate for enemy armored corps.
