  • The color distribution functions (CDFs) of globular clusters (GCs) in individual early-type galaxies show great diversity in their morphology. Based on the conventional "linear" relationship between colors and metallicities of GCs, the inferred GC metallicity distribution functions and thus their formation histories should be as diverse as they appear. In contrast, an alternative scenario rooted in the "nonlinear" nature of the color-to-metallicity transformation finds the various CDFs pointing systematically to a simple picture, i.e., such a high degree of variety stems predominately from only one parameter, the mean metallicity of GCs. The simulated CDFs of GCs aimed to reproduce 67 massive early-type galaxies from the ACS Virgo & Fornax Cluster Survey show that over 70% of the CDFs concur fully with the nonlinearity scenario. We discuss our new findings in terms of early-type galaxy formation in the cluster environment.

  • Following the reported study that showed the dyeability of diamino-anthraquinoid blue dyes substituted with relatively shorter alkyl groups, the longer aliphatic substituents than pentyl group were examined in terms of the color strength and fastness properties toward UHMWPE fibers. The color strength was increased up to pentyl group and then gradually decreased. However, the fastness properties were improved continuously to octyl group which was the longest alkyl substituent in this study. The most effective maximum color strength was obtained at $130^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours with 3% owf of dyes. The overall fastnesses to washing, rubbing, and light were good enough for practical uses.

  • To investigate the Possibility of making noodle with Job's tears flour(JTV), it was mixed with wheat flour by the ratio of 60oyo. Making characteristics of noodle was studied in terms of cooking quality test, color measurement and sensory evaluation. The cooking quality of noodles with 10~40% JTF was almost same value as control in weight and volume of cooked noodle. Color difference ($\Delta$E) between noodles with JFT and control was revealed appreciable value. Though noodles with 10~30% JFT was not significantly different from control in color, only noodle with 10% JFT was same as control In texture by sensory evaluation test.

  • In the design of any picture book, graphic artists employ the use of color, typeface and illustration to produce attractive book covers. This study is an analysis of selected book covers in the 'Africana Children's Book Awards' (Young Readers category) between 2009 and 2014. The book covers are mainly illustrations originally done in media such as acrylics and oil paintings on canvas. In the article, the author analyses the front covers in terms of hue, Saturation and brightness using a colour map. This work also discusses why certain colours have been used in the design of the covers thus; providing information on color scheme trends for picture books in the Children's Africana Awards Category.

  • In this paper, we propose a new view synthesis technique for coding of multi-view color and depth data in arbitrary camera arrangements. We treat each camera position as a 3-D point in world coordinates and build clusters of those vertices. Color and depth data within a cluster are gathered into one camera position using a hierarchical representation based on the concept of layered depth image (LDI). Since one camera can cover only a limited viewing range, we set multiple reference cameras so that multiple LDIs are generated to cover the whole viewing range. Therefore, we can enhance the visual quality of the reconstructed views from multiple LDIs comparing with that from a single LDI. From experimental results, the proposed scheme shows better coding performance under arbitrary camera configurations in terms of PSNR and subjective visual quality.

  • Fine grayscale data exceeding 8 bits per pixel is mapped into the sRGB color space so as to be displayed on a 24-bit sRGB CRT monitor. The characteristics of the pseudo gray generated by mapping are investigated in terms of the CIELAB color difference and chromaticities.

  • Actual conditions of current shroud are as follows. 1. The kinds of shroud in formal funeral cer-emonies were more variable than infor-mal ceremonies. 2. The cloths of the shround were all Myongchu or all Sambe inside and outside or the inside was Sambe and the outside was Myongchu. The color was light color center upon the white color and black Kongtan was used mostly in Myokmok. 3. Terms of the shroud were different in each region. 4. The kinds of recommended men's shroud were Ch ksam, Ch kori, Naeko, Ko, Torumaki, Topo, Topotae, Mal, Myokmok, Aksu, Ch'im, Ch' nkum, Chiyok, Ryomp'o, Soryomkum, Haengch n, Onang, Tae, Taennim, Pokk n, Kwatu, tec. • The principal objective of this study was to evaluate the quality characteristics of jelly prepared with five different levels(0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0%) of black garlic concentrate(BG1-BG4). We conducted the pH, sugar content, Hunter's color value, mechanical characteristics, and a sensory evaluation analysis of black garlic jelly. The more black garlic concentrate increased, the more the sugar content of the black garlic jelly increased(p<0.05). In terms of color, lightness(L) and yellowness(b) decreased as the black garlic concentrate increased, while redness(a) increased. With regard to the mechanical properties of the black garlic jelly samples, the higher the score of hardness, gumminess, and chewiness significantly increased(p<0.05). In color, flavor, texture and overall quality, the score of jelly with 1.0% black garlic concentrate(BG2) increased most of the all.

  • In this study, basic physical properties and color development of the black concrete depending on CASB-SP dosages are investigated. According to results, It showed that the slump and air contents of the concrete containing CASB-SP meet all requirements of concrete except when CASB-SP 5.0 % is used. It also showed that the more the CASB-SP is used, the higher the compressive strength becomes. On the other hand, It is found that if the CASB-SP 5.0 % is used, the compressive strength was reduced as the more CASB-SP 5 % is used. In terms of color, it was found out that the more CASB-SP is used, the darker the black becomes.
