In chip plating, several parameters must be taken into consideration. Current density, solution concentration, pH, solution temperature, components volume, chip and media ratio, barrel geometrical shape were most likely found to have an effect to the process yields. The 3 types of barrels utilized in chip plating industry are the onventional rotating barrel, vibrational barrel(vibarrel), and the centrifugal type. Conventional rotating barrel is a close type and is commonly used. The components inside the barrel are circulated by the barrel's rotation at a horizontal axis. Process yield has known to have higher thickness deviation. The vibrational barrel is an open type which offers a wide exposure to electrolyte resulting to a stable thickness deviation. It rotates in a vertical axis coupled with multi-vibration action to facilitate mixed up and easy transportation of components. The centrifugal barrel has its plated work centrifugally compacted against the cathode ring for superior electrical contact with simultaneous rotary motion. This experiment has determined the effect of barrel vibration intensity to the plating thickness distribution. The procedures carried out in the experiment involved the overall plating process., cleaning, rinse, Nickel plating, Tin-Lead plating. Plating time was adjusted to meet the required specification. All other parameters were maintained constant. Two trials were performed to confirm the consistency of the result. The thickness data of the experiment conducted showed thatbthe average mean value obtained from higher vibrational intensity is nearer to the standard mean. The distribution curve shown has a narrower specification limits and it has a reduced variation around the target value. Generally, intensity control in vi-barrel facilitates mixed up and easy transportation of components. However, it is desirable to maintain an optimum vibration intensity to prevent solution intrusion into the chips' internal electrode. A cathodic reaction can occur in the interface of the external and internal electrode. 2H20 + e $\rightarrow$M/TEX> 20H + H2.. Hydrogen can penetrate into the body and create pressure which can cause cracks. At high intensity, the chip's motion becomes stronger, its contact between each other is delayed and so plating action is being controlled. However, the strong impact created by its collision can damage the external electrode's structure there by resulting to bad plating condition.
This study will provide a practical plan of engineering education through the study of major activities connected with the production of works to accomplish the graduation conditions by completing the comprehensive design subject and the result of the performance. The designed subject is to measure the minimum safety distance during driving using the obstacle detection function of the ultrasonic sensor and to perform the avoidance algorithm based on the measurement value of the acceleration gyro sensor. It is proposed an access surveillance system that minimizes the damage of drones, surrounding objects, and people, and improves air mobility. Experimental results show that the obstacles around the drone are detected by five ultrasonic sensors and the difference of output value is applied to each motor of the drone and obstacle avoidance is confirmed. In addition, the content and level of the data for measuring the achievement of learning achievement in the engineering education certification program were used and the results were confirmed to be consistent with the description of the engineering problem level required for the graduates of 4-year engineering college.

This paper presents the numerical estimation results of oil outflows from damaged single-hull and double-hull ships by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. A CFD method for multi-phase flow analysis was used, and the effects of numerical parameters on oil flows was investigated. Numerical simulations were conducted to predict the changes in oil outflows under various damage conditions owing to grounding or collision accidents and verified through available experimental results. The present numerical results showed a good agreement with the experimental results according to the geometrical characteristics of single and double hulls. In particular, the oil outflows from double hulls accompanying complex interactions between water and oil were reasonably predicted a shown in the experiment. This study established a reliable CFD technique necessary for estimating the oil outflows of damaged ships.

Structural pounding due to strong seismic excitations can result in severe damage or even collapse of colliding structures. Many researchers focused on studying the mutual pounding between two adjacent structures while very few researches were concerned with the pounding of a series of structures. This paper aims to study the pounding effect on a series of four buildings having different natural frequencies. The paper also investigates the effect of different arrangements of the four buildings on their pounding response. For this, a mathematical model was constructed using Matlab code where, pounding was modeled using a contact force-based approach. A Non-Linear viscoelastic (Hertzdamp) contact element was used and activated only during the approach period of collision. The mathematical model was validated by comparing its prediction versus experimental results on three adjacent buildings. Then the model was used to study the pounding between four adjacent structures arranged in different sequences according to their natural frequencies. The results revealed that increasing the gap distance generally led to decrease the peak responses of the towers. Such response is somehow different from that predicted earlier by the authors for the case of three adjacent buildings. Moreover, the arrangement of towers has a significant effect on their pounding response. Significant difference between the natural frequencies of adjacent structures increases the pounding forces especially when the more flexible buildings are located at the outer edge of the series. The study points out the need for further researches on buildings in series to gain a better understanding of such complex phenomena.

This study suggested that protective panels should be installed as sacrificial members as a safety design method for structures with potential explosions such as hydrogen charging stations to minimize direct damage to the structure and have resilience. To this end, the focus of the experiment is on quantitatively evaluating the impact of the structure when the protection panel is installed closely or spaced apart from the structure in a high-speed collision situation of the projectile. The experimental design used steel plates instead of concrete structural members mainly used in the past for excellent reproducibility, and the impact of structural members was compared and analyzed through deformation differences on the back of the steel plate. In addition, the impact of changes in the physical properties of the elastic body used as a separation material for the protective member and the difference in shock wave transmission time according to the protective member and the elastic body on the structural member was investigated.
This study analyzed data from the Korea National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury Survey (KNHDIS) (2004~2021) and found that for the young-old with disabilities, the location of injury was roads and main roads, the activity at the time of injury was daily life, the mechanism of injury was falling and the type of transportation accident was collision with passenger cars. In the old-old, the characteristics by type of injury were fractures, the intentionality of the injury was unintentional, the place of injury was residence, the activity at the time of injury was daily life, the mechanism of injury was falling and the type of transportation accident was pedestrian. In conclusion, the old-old were more likely to suffer injuries at home and in daily life than the young-old with disabilities, and old-old injured patients were more active than the old-old, resulting in higher falls and transportation accidents and older seniors were more likely to have pedestrian accidents. Based on the information collected from the young-old and old-old, it is believed that efforts to prevent damage that consider the characteristics of the elderly are necessary.
The traditional name given to the insurance of third party liabilities and certain contractual liabilities which arise in connection with the operation of ships is protection and indemnity(P & I) insurance. P & I insurance is very different from traditional hull and machinery insurance in that shipowners' hull and machinery insurance is designed primarily to protect the assured against losses to his vessel, whereas P & I insurance seeks to indemnify an shipowner in respect of the discharge of legal liabilities he has incurred in operating his own vessels. This study is to examine the background of establishment of British P & I clubs md, therefore, the identity of P & I insurance. The present British P & I clubs are the remote descendants of the many small and local hull mutual insurance clubs that were formed by British shipowners in the end of 18th century. At that time, British shipowners were dissatified with the state of marine insurance market and, therefore, established clubs together in mutual hull insurance clubs. After the removal of the company monopoly in 1824, greater competition had a good effect on the rates, terms of cover and service offered by the commercial marine insurance market and by Lloyd's underwriters, and the hull clubs became less necessary and went into decline. The burden of British shipowners on liabilities to third parties was steadily increased after the middle of the 19th century, but the amount insured under hull policy was limited in the insured value of the ship. Eventually, the first protection club, that is, the Shipowners' Mutual Protection Society was formed in 1855. It was designed to like past mutual hull clubs, but to cover liabilities for loss of life and personal injury and also the collision risks excluded from the current marine policies, particularly the excess above the limits in hull policies. In 1870, the risks of liability for loss of or damage to cargo carried on board the insured ship was first awarded by the British shipowners. After 1874, many protection clubs formed indemnity club to cover the risk of liability for loss or damage to cargo. As mentioned above, British P & I clubs have been steadily changed according to the response of shipowners under the rapidly changing law of British shipowners' liability, and so on in the future.

In this study, traffic safety technology was developed for rural areas by reviewingthe relevant literature and data from the Traffic Accident Analysis System for the Chungcheong region.The goal is to reduce traffic accidents in small regional cities and rural areas in Korea. A road shoulder recognition light was developed to fit the pedestrian characteristics of the people using transportation in rural areas. It also minimizes damage to crops due to light pollution from traffic lights and street lights, and it supplements problems of damage from collision with vehicles and agricultural machines. The efficiency of the technology developed in this study was verified by comparing and analyzing the number of traffic accidents and the saved cost before and after its installation. A test bedwas established based on rural areas and is being evaluated for its applicability and effectiveness. It is expected that the reliability of such facilities could be improved through continuous studies, data collection, and analysis.
The present Common Structural Rules for double hull oil tanker is not included the residual strength, which is one of the functional requirements in design part of Goal-based new ship construction standards (GBS). The GBS will be enforced after July 1, 2016. The requirement related residual strength has the goal to build safe ship even if she has the specified damages due to marine accidents including collision and grounding. In order to assess the residual strength based on risk for structural damages according to GBS, tons of nonlinear FE analysis work taking into account various types of damage will be needed. The Smith's method, a kind of simplified method for the strength analysis is very useful for this purpose. In this paper, the residual strength assessments based on ultimate strength using Smith's method were carried out. The objected ship is VLCC with stranding damage in bottom structures. Also, the results were compared with that of nonlinear FE analysis using three cargo hold model.

Sea pollution accidents have been occurred due to the increase of marine ship traffic. Oil spill from the hull hole induced by tanker collision results in the huge sea pollution. Proper and prompt reaction on such oil spill disaster is needed to minimize the damage. Thru-hull emergency wood plug is typically used to manually close small holes, while it is required to develop some mechanical devices for closing large holes in the hull due to huge fluid pressure. Accurate estimation of oil discharge and velocity from such holes are important to develop proper device to control hull hole damage. High resolution CFD modeling investigation on the configurations of hull hole of 7.5 m initial depth and 30 cm diameter, which was observed in the oil spill accident of the Hebei Sprit off the west coast of Korea in 2007, has been carried out to compute the oil spill velocity distribution in terms of flow depth. Friction loss due to the viscous flow and the discharge coefficient of crude oil with specific gravity SG = 0.85 and viscosity of $4-12cP(mPa{\cdot}s)$ at the temperature of $20^{\circ}C-100^{\circ}C$ are presented in terms of Reynolds number based on the results of high-resolution CFD modeling.
