Information identification with image data by means of low-level visual features has evolved as a challenging research domain. Conventional text-based mapping of image data has been gradually replaced by content-based techniques of image identification. Feature extraction from image content plays a crucial role in facilitating content-based detection processes. In this paper, the authors have proposed four different techniques for multiview feature extraction from images. The efficiency of extracted feature vectors for content-based image classification and retrieval is evaluated by means of fusion-based and data standardization-based techniques. It is observed that the latter surpasses the former. The proposed methods outclass state-of-the-art techniques for content-based image identification and show an average increase in precision of 17.71% and 22.78% for classification and retrieval, respectively. Three public datasets - Wang; Oliva and Torralba (OT-Scene); and Corel - are used for verification purposes. The research findings are statistically validated by conducting a paired t-test.

This paper addresses the estimation of the shift vector from aerial image sequences. The conventional feature-based and area-based matching methods are simulated for determining the suitable image registration scheme. Computer simulations show that the feature-based matching schemes based on the co-occurrence matrix, autoregressive model, and edge information do not give a reliable matching for aerial image sequences which do not have a suitable statistical model or significant features. In area-based matching methods we try various similarity functions for a matching measure and discuss the factors determining the matching accuracy. To reduce the estimation error of the shift vector we propose the reference window selection scheme. We also discuss the performance of the proposed algorithm based on the simulation results.

Surface roughness is one of the most important parameters to estimate quality of products. As this reason so many studies were car-ried out through various attempts that were contact or non-contact using computer vision. Even through these efforts there were few good results in this research., however texture analysis making a important role to solve these problems in various fields including universe aviation living thing and fibers. In this study feature value of co-occurrence matrix was calculated by statistic method and roughness value of worked surface was classified, of it. Experiment was carried out using input vector of neural network with characteristic value of texture calculated from worked surface image. It's found that recognition rate of 74% was obtained when adapting texture features. In order to enhance recogni-tion rate combination type in characteristics value of texture was changed into input vector. As a result high recognition rate of 92.6% was obtained through these processes.

In this paper , we propose a texture feature extraction method of reduce the massive computational time on extracting texture, features of large sized medical such as MRI, CT-scan , and an index structure, called GLTFT, to speed up the retrieval performance. For these, the original image is transformed into a compressed image by Wavelet transform , and textural features such as contrast, energy, entropy, and homogeneity of the compressed image is extracted by using GLCM(Gray Level Co-occurrence Metrix) . The proposed index structure is organized by using the textural features. The processing in compressed domain can give the solution of storage space and the reduction of computational time of feature extracting . And , by GLTFT index structure, image retrieval performance can be expected to be improved by reducing the retrieval range . Our experiment on 270 MRIs as image database shows that shows that such expectation can be got.

The image data amount is increasing rapidly that used geography, sea information etc. with great development of a remote sensing technology using artificial satellite. Therefore, people need automatic method that use image processing description than macrography for analysis remote sensing image. In this paper, we propose that acquire texture information to use GLCM(Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix) in red tide area of artificial satellite remote sensing image, and detects red tide area by PCA(principal component analysis) automatically from this data. Method by sea color that one feature of remote sensing image of existent red tide area detection was most. but in this paper, we changed into 2 principal component accumulation images using GLCM's texture feature information 8. Experiment result, 2 principal component accumulation image's variance percentage is 90.4%. We compared with red tide area that use only sea color and It is better result.
The user needs to find the answer to your question is growing fast at the service using collective intelligent knowledge. In the previous researches, it was proven that the non-text information like view counting, referrer number, and number of answer is good in evaluating answers. There were also many works about evaluating answers using the various kinds of word dictionaries. In this work, we propose new method to evaluate answers to question effectively using user reputation that estimated by the social activity. We use a modified PageRank algorithm for estimating user reputation. We also use the similarity between question and answer. From the result of experiment in the Naver GisikiN corpus, we can see that the proposed method gives meaningful performance to complement the answer selection rate.

This paper introduces a new preprocessing scheme to replace original data of gray scale images with particular ordered data so that performance of lossless compression can be improved more efficiently. As a kind of preprocessing technique to maximize performance of entropy encoder, the proposed method converts the input image data into more compressible form. Before encoding a stream of the input image, the proposed preprocessor counts co-occurrence frequencies for neighboring pixel pairs. Then, it replaces each pair of adjacent gray values with particular ordered numbers based on the investigated co-occurrence frequencies. When compressing ordered image using entropy encoder, we can expect to raise compression rate more highly because of enhanced statistical feature of the input image. In this paper, we show that lossless compression rate increased by up to 37.85% when comparing results from compressing preprocessed and non-preprocessed image data using entropy encoder such as Huffman, Arithmetic encoder.

Recently, much of the intelligent security scenario and criminal investigation demands for matching photo and non-photo. Existing face recognition system can not sufficiently guarantee these needs. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve the performance of heterogeneous face recognition systems by reducing the different modality between sketches and photos of the same person. The proposed algorithm extracts each image's texture features through texture descriptors (gray level co-occurrence matrix, multiscale local binary pattern), and based on this, generates a transformation matrix through eigenfeature regularization and extraction techniques. The score value calculated between the vectors generated in this way finally recognizes the identity of the sketch image through the score normalization methods.

We propose a new content-based image retrieval using a representative color histogram and directional pattern histogram that is adaptive to the classification characteristics of the image blocks. In the proposed method the color and pattern feature vectors are extracted according to the characteristics o: the block classification after dividing the image into blocks with a fixed size. First, the divided blocks are classified as either luminance or color blocks depending on the saturation of the block. Thereafter, the color feature vectors are extracted by calculating histograms of the block average luminance co-occurrence for the luminance block and the block average colors for the color blocks. In addition, block directional pattern feature vectors are extracted by calculating histograms after performing the directional gradient classification of the luminance. Experimental results show that the proposed method can outperform the conventional methods as regards the precision and the size of the feature vector dimension.
Novel coordination polymers of general form $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n\; (Py_2L=trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene$ (bpee), 1; 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpea), 2) have been synthesized by slow diffusion of aqueous solution of $Co(NCS)_2$ with ethanolic solution of appropriate spacer ligand, $Py_2L$, in a mole ratio of 1 : 2. X-ray analyses on both 1 and 2 have provided similar unit and infinite structures with space group Ibam. The local geometry around the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms is an octahedral arrangement with two NCS groups in trans position (N-Co-N, 180.0° (1); 180.0°(2)) and four pyridine units in propeller fashion. Each spacer ligand connects two cobalt(Ⅱ) ions defining the edges of a $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombus. The most fascinating feature is the occurrence of perpendicular interwoven of independent square grid sheets: this is, one molecular network is perpendicularly interpenetrated through the centers of the $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombuses of another independent network with all of the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms in a coplanar sheet. The physicochemical properties of the present unique structures were studied.
