A Study on the development of optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable (광복합 고압지중전력케이블의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, We developed the optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable which is combined optical fibers with conventional high-voltage underground power cable. Optical-Unit that optical fiber is inserted in stainless tube is tested, and we got good results enough to safe optical fibers. Also we put the optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable to the test of electrical characteristics and optical characteristics, we knew that the electrical characteristics were the same characteristics as conventional high-voltage underground power cable and the transmission loss change was almost zero.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure penetration of dye stuff (2% Methylene blue, 2% Hematoxylin, 2% crystal violet and 2% safranin-O) on unfilled resin (Lang Dental MFG Co.) Hipol (Boopyung Dental Chemical Co. Macrocomposite resin) Durafill (Kulzer, Co. Microfilled Composite resin) and Heliosit (Vivadent Co. Microfilled Composite resin) The unfilled resin with dough stage was inserted into plastic tuble (5mm in diameter and 4mm in height) with condensation force of 1000 gr, 2000 gr and without condensation force. Hipol mixed on the mixed pad was inserted into the plastic tube by the same method as the unfilled resin. The microfilled resins which were Durafill and Heliosit were polymerized for 60 seconds with the visible light on each surface of the plastic tube which was upper and lower, under condensation force of 1000 gr, 2000 gr and without condensation force. All specimens were stored in the air for 24 hours, then specimens were immersed in the various kind of dye solution for different period of time (1 hour and 24 hours). These dye-treated specimens were polished horizontally until removing 0.5mm of each surface on the emery paper (#1000), and the dye penetration in the polished surface was measured under the digital microscope (Japan Fosuh). Following results were obtained 1. The penetration of dyes was the most excessive in Durafill and was not influenced on the condensation force and the period of immersion time. 2. All dyes were penetrated into Hipol, and Crystal violet was penetrated most excessively in all dyes. 3. The penetration of dye in all resins was not influenced by the period of immersion time and condensation force. 4. There was no evidence of dye penetration in unfilled resin.

  • For dual-band operation, it can be done by loading two pair of narrow slots in the equilateral-triangular patch, one embedded close to the side edges of the patch and the other inserted at the bottom edge of the patch. The obtained two operating frequencies are of same polarization planes. The frequency ratio of the two operating frequencies is turnabled by varing the positions and lengths of the inserted slots at the bottom edge of the patch. In this paper, A single-feed equilateral-triangular microstrip patch with two pairs of narrow slot for dual-frequency operation is printed on the substrate(TMN-4 Rosers Co.) of the 60 miles. the antenna radiation characteristics are calculated by Ensemble ver. 5.0 software, and compared with the experimental results.

Comparison of removal torques of SLActive® implant and blasted, laser-treated titanium implant in rabbit tibia bone healed with concentrated growth factor application

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to compare the removal torques of a chemically modified SLActive implant and a blasted, laser-treated (BLT) implant, which were soaked in saline for 2 weeks after their surface modifications. The removal torques of the two implants were measured 4 weeks after their implantation into the bone defect area in rabbit tibias with concentrated growth factor (CGF) application. MATERIALS AND METHODS. To make artificial bone defects in the cortical layers of both tibias, an 8-mm diameter trephine bur was used. Then, prepared CGF was applied to the bony defect of the left tibia, and the bony defect of the right tibia was left unfilled. Four weeks later, the surgical sites of 16 rabbits were re-exposed. For 8 rabbits, the SLActive implants (Straumann, Switzerland) were inserted in the left tibia, and the BLT implants (CSM implant, Daegu, Korea) were inserted in the right tibia. For other rabbits, the BLT implants were inserted in the left tibia, and the SLActive implants were inserted in the right. Four weeks afger the insertion, torque removal was measured from 4 rabbits exterminated via $CO_2$ inhalation. RESULTS. No significant difference was observed between removal torques of the BLT implant and the SLActive implant (P>.05). CONCLUSION. It was found that BLT surface modification exhibited excellent osseointegration. In addition, CGF application did not affect the insertion and removal torque of the implants.

ML Frame Synchronization for Gaussian Channel with Co-channel Interference (가우스 잡음과 CO-CHANNEL 간섭이 존재하는 채널에서의 최대추정 프레임 동기)

  • The problem of locating a periodically inserted frame synchronization pattern in random data for a binary pulse amplitude modulated (PAM) digital communication system over a additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel with co-channel interference is considered. The performance degradation of frame synchronization for the correlation rule due to the presence of co-channel interference is shown. The maximum likelihood(ML) decision rule for the frame synchronization over an AWGN channel with co-channel interference is derived. For the entire range of SNR considered, the ML frame synchronization rule obtains about 1dB signal energy gain over the correlation rule. Specially, the ML rule obtains as much as 2dB gain over the correlation rule when the SNR is greater than 0dB.

  • In this paper, a novel small-diameter cylindrical post capacitor inserted into an evanescent-mode rectangular waveguide (EMRWG) is proposed for easier tuning. In order to feed the EMRWG, the proposed structure uses a single ridge rectangular waveguide with the same width and height as the waveguide at the input and output ends. The inserted post capacitor are made up a circular groove formed in the center of the lower part of the broad wall of the EMRWG, and a concentric cylindrical post inserted into the upper part. First, the equivalent circuit model for the proposed structure is presented. When the EMRWG and the single ridge waveguide are combined, the joint susceptance and the turns ratio of the ideal transformer are calculated by two simulations using HFSS (3d fullwave simulator, Ansoft Co.) respectively. The susceptance and resonance characteristics of the inserted post were analyzed by using the obtained parameters and the characteristics of the EMRWG. A 2-post filter with a center frequency of 4.5 GHz and a bandwidth of 170 MHz was designed using a WR-90 waveguide, and the simulation results by using the HFSS and CST, equivalent circuit model were in good agreement.

  • Co-ferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized by the decomposition of iron(III) acetylacetonate, $Fe(acac)_3$ and Co acetylacetonate, $Co(acac)_2$ in benzyl/phenyl ether in the presence of oleic acid and oleyl amine at the refluxingtemperature of $295^{\circ}C$/$265^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. before cooling to room temperature. Particle diameter detected by PSA can be turned from 4 nm to 20 nm by seed-mediated growth and reaction conditions. Structural and magneticcharacterization of Co-ferrite were measured by use of HRTEM, SAED (selected area electron diffraction), XRD and SQUID. The as-synthesized Co-ferrite nanoparticles have a cubic spinel structure and coercivity of 20 nm $CoFe_{2}O_{4} nanoparticles reached 1 kOe at room temperature and 18 kOe at 10 K.

Effects of NiFeCo of NiFe Insertion Layers on the Giant Magnetoresistance Behavior of Ni/Cu Artificial Superlattice (Ni/Cu 인공초격자에서 NiFeCo 및 NiFe 계면 삽입층이 거대자기저항 거동에 미치는 영향)

  • Ultra thin layers of NiFeCo or NiFe were inserted at the interfaces of Ni and Cu to form a multilayer structure. In case of inserting a NiFe layer, the magnetoresistance was about 6%, the saturation magnetic field was 50 Oe and the hysteresis of R-H (resistance-magnetic field) was very small. In case of inserting a NiFeCo layer, the magnetoresistance increased to about 7% but the saturation magnetic field and hysteresis were also increased. The increase of the output under biased magnetic field was much larger in case of inserting a NiFe layer because of relatively smaller hysteresis in R-H behavior.

  • The magnetic and thermal properties of NiFe/IrMn/CoFe with Mn additions have been studied. As grown CoFe pinned-layers with IrMn-Mn have dominantly larger exchange biasing field( $H_{ex}$) and blocking temperature( $T_{b}$) than when pure I $r_{22}$M $n_{78}$ is used. The magnetic properties improve, $H_{ex}$ and $T_{b}$ improve with 77-78 vol% Mn, but drop considerably with more Mn additions, losing magnetic properties of theb NiFe/IrMn/CoFe with addition 0.6 vol % Mn. The average x-ray diffraction peak ratios fcc (111)CoFe of (111)IrM $n_3$ textures for the Mn inserted total vol of 75, 77, and 79 vol% were about 1.4, 0.8, and 0.6, respectively. For the sample without Mn inserted layer, the $H_{ex}$ between I $r_{22}$M $n_{78}$ and CoFe layers is almost nothing. For two multilayer as-grown samples with ultra-thin Mn layers of 77 vol % and 79 vol %, the $H_{ex}$s are 250 Oe and 150 Oe, respectively. In case of IrMn with 77.5 vol% Mn, the $H_{ex}$ was 444 Oe up to 30$0^{\circ}C$ endured of 363 Oe at 40$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Mn additions improve the magnetic properties and thermal stabilities of NiFe/IrMn/CoFe. Those increase the $H_{ex}$ and $T_{b}$. In applications where higher $H_{ex}$ and $T_{b}$ are accept, proper concentrations of Mn can be used.n can be used.be used.

  • A new method is proposed for tracking the optimum points in nonstationary problem via genetic search. Cache Pool to save the past genetic informations is added to population in search using Sexual Reproduction Genetic Algorithm(SRGA). In Cache Pool, elite chromosomes from population are accumulated. A best Individual is made up from these chromosomes in varying environment and inserted into the newly reproduced population every generation. Experimental results indicate changing global optima are accurately identified and followed.
