Orthodontists have experienced the treatment of cases with three lower incisors. Occasionally a lower incisor was either congenitally missing or so seriously damaged by injury or disease that its removal presented the best prospect for the patient. Sometimes the intentional extraction of a lower incisor is needed to produce enhanced functional and esthetic results with minimal orthodontic manipulation. Such cases have unfavorable anterior tooth size discrepancies and present difficulties in achieving good occlusal results. However such difficulties can be overcome by the sensible diagnosis and treatment plan. Three different cases are presented and the conclusions are listed. 1. It is important for orthodontist who tries to treat three lower incisor cases to measure and calculate accurately the degree of deviation of tooth size and morphology and the anterior tooth size ratio. 2. A diagnostic setup model should be made to determine whether the incisor extraction is appropriate and space closure is needed or not. It is the best way to be sure that the occlusal results, including overbite and overjet, will be acceptable and how far the degree of midline deviation is. It also shows the amount of interproximal reduction to achieve an acceptable occlusal result. 3. The class I relationship between the upper canine and the lower one must be obtained to establish the canine rise during eccentric movement by the concept of mutually protective occlusion. It also helps to maintain the stable occlusal result.

Analysis of the aerodynamic performance of a bobsleigh has been performed for various types of bobsleigh body shape. To analyze the aerodynamic performance of the bobsleigh, three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stoke equations were used with the standard k-${\varepsilon}$ model as a turbulence closure. Grid structure was composed of unstructured tetrahedral grids. The radii of curvature of cowling, and height and length of front bumper at the tip on the drag coefficient were selected as geometric parameters. And, the effects of these parameters on the aerodynamic performance, i.e., the drag coefficient, were evaluated. The results shows that the aerodynamic performance is significantly affected by the height of front bumper and radius of curvature.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of phonation types ([+/- aspirated], [+/- fortis]) on aerodynamic measures with Korean bilabial stops. Sixty-three healthy young adults (30 males, 33 females) participated to evaluate the VOEF (Voicing Efficiency) tasks with bilabial stop consonants /$p^h$/, /p/, /p'/ using Phonatory Aerodynamic System (PAS) Model 6600 (Kay PENTAX Corp, Lincoln Park, NJ). All VOEF measures were significantly influenced by phonation types except RANP(pitch range)(p <.01). For sound pressure, maximum SPL, mean SPL, and Mean SPL during Voicing have been shown to be significantly greatest in fortis stop /p'/ than aspirated /$p^h$/ and lenis stop /p/ (p<.001). On the other hand, mean pitch after lenis stop was significantly lower than after aspirated and fortis stops (p<.001). Peak expiratory airflow, Target airflow, and FVC (Expiratory volume) were significantly lowest in fortis stop /p'/ which might be associated with higher aerodynamic resistance while peak air pressure and mean peak air pressure during closure were significantly lower in lenis stop /p/. Additionally, AEFF (Aerodynamic efficiency) was significantly higher in fortis stop /p'/ than lenis stop /p/ as well as aspirated stop /$p^h$/ (p<.001). Thus, sound pressure, airflow parameters, and aerodynamic resistance made crucial roles in distinguishing fortis /p'/ from lenis stop /p/ and aspirated. Additionally, pitch and subglottal air pressure parameters were important aerodynamic characteristics in distinguishing lenis /p/ from fortis /p'/ and aspirated /$p^h$/. Therefore, accurate aspirated /p/ stop consonant should be elicited when collecting the airflow, intraoral pressure related data with patients with voice disorders in order to enhance the reliability and relevance or validity of aerodynamic measures using PAS.
The present study has been carried out to analyze the effect of steam hammering on the steam piping system including the final superheater, the high pressure turbine, check valve and the first reheater by sudden stoping of main stop valve in a power plant. For the present steam hammering analysis, the well known Flowmaster software has been used to model the steam piping system and the time dependent characteristics of pressure and steam mass flow rate has been conducted. Using the result of the unsteady pressure and steam mass flow rate, the forces acting on the elbows in the piping system has been derived. From the present analysis, it has been elucidated that the elbow just before the main stop valve and the elbow near the connection pipe between bypass pipe and check valve had the largest force among the elbows in the steam piping system. The structural safety diagnostics study on the elbow and the supporting structures of the steam piping system of a power plant will be conducted in the future by the present results of the forces acting on the elbow.

A numerical study is carried out to analyze the steady three-dimensional turbulent flow through cylindrical and fan-shaped holes and the film cooling of these holes at low and high blowing ratios. Compressible Reynoldsaveraged Navier-Stokes equations and the energy equation are solved using a finite-volume-based solver, and a shearstress transport model is used as the turbulence closure. The effects of the compound angle, pitch to diameter ratio, and lateral expansion angle of the hole on the film-cooling effectiveness are evaluated by the film-cooling effectiveness. It is observed that the compound angle of the hole enhances the film performance for the cylindrical hole, and a small hole pitch induces interactions between the coolants from the adjacent holes, thus reducing the film-cooling performance.

The particle dispersion in the turbulent mixing layer has been numerically investigated to clarify the effect of the velocity ratio in the large-scale vortical structures. In this study the LES with subgrid-scale model is employed. The Lagrangian method to predict the particle motion is applied. The particles of 10, 50, 150, 200${\mu}m$ in mean diameter were loaded into the origin of the mixing layer. It is shown that the characteristics of flow and growth rate are strongly dependent on the variation of the velocity ratio. It is also shown the relationship between the Stokes number and the particle dispersion. As a result, in the case of St~1 the particle dispersion is faster than the diffustion of the flow field while in the cases of both St<<1 and St>>1 it is shown that the particle dispersion in lower than the diffusion of the flow filed.
The aim of this study is to compare k-$\varepsilon$ and k-$\omega$ closures under the condition of oscillatory layer flow at high Reynolds number. A one dimensional vertical model incorporated with flow momentum equations and turbulence models (k-$\varepsilon$ and k-$\omega$) is applied to the laboratory measurements in the turbulent oscillatory boundary layer. The numerical simulation reveals that both turbulence models calculate similar velocity profiles and turbulent kinetic energy (TKE). In addition, both deliver high accuracy under the condition of negligible spanwise pressure gradient. Therefore, it is recommended in this study to use k-$\varepsilon$ closure, of which numerical coefficients have been calibrated from many studies, for the cases of straight channel, estuary, and coastal environment where the spanwise pressure gradient is not significant.
As we detect defects and eliminate them in early stages, we can make better quality software. For doing this task, we need to use a defect tracking system which con effectively track and manage defects that give severe effects on software quality. Those existing defect tracking systems have some weaknesses as we apply them to organizations that use CMMI for process improvements. Major problems of those systems are that they require the organizations to collect many types of defect data at a time without providing the proper explanation and even without the support of defect management process. The organizations at CMMI maturity level 2 and 3 have problems for analyzing those defects because there is no specific process area at CMMI maturity level 2 and 3 which directly handles defect managing activites. This paper resolves those problems by developing a defect tracking system which offers methods of managing defects. And the system provides guidelines of which defects should be gathered for each CMMI mathurity levels. The system also has functions to generate various status and statistic information on defects, and to assign defect data to the person in charge so that he or she track the defect to the closure

This paper employs computational tools to predict power increase (or speed loss) and propulsion performances in waves of KVLCC2. Two-phase unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations have been solved using finite volume method; and a realizable k-ε model has been applied for the turbulent closure. The free-surface is obtained by solving a VOF equation. Sliding mesh method is applied to simulate the flow around an operating propeller. Towing and self-propulsion computations in calm water are carried out to obtain the towing force, propeller rotating speed, thrust and torque at the self-propulsion point. Towing computations in waves are performed to obtain the added resistance. The regular short head waves of λ/LPP = 0.6 with 4 wave steepness of H/λ = 0.007, 0.017, 0.023 and 0.033 are taken into account. Four methods to predict speed-power relationship in waves are discussed; Taylor expansion, direct powering, load variation, resistance and thrust identity methods. In the load variation method, the revised ITTC-78 method based on the 'thrust identity' is utilized to predict propulsive performances in full scale. The propulsion performances in waves including propeller rotating speed, thrust, torque, thrust deduction and wake fraction, propeller advance coefficient, hull, propeller open water, relative rotative and propulsive efficiencies, and delivered power are investigated.
In this paper, numerical results of sectional analysis, stress recovery and energy release rate were compared with the results of VABS, 3-D FEM through the blade analysis library. The result of stress recovery analysis for one-dimensional model including the stiffness matrix is compared with stress results of three-dimensional FEM. We discuss the configuration of the blade analysis library and compare verifications of numerical analysis results of VABS. Blade analysis library through dimensional reduction and stress recovery is intended to be utilized in conjunction with pre- and post-processing of the analysis program of the composite blade, high-altitude uav's wing, wind blades and tilt rotor blade.
