핵심기본간호술 VR 교육 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 융복합 연구 (A Convergence Research for Development of VR Education Contents for Core Fundamental Nursing Skills)

  • 본 연구에서는 가상현실을 이용한 VR 기본간호술 교육 콘텐츠를 제안하고자 하였다. 핵심기본간호술 20가지 중 간이혈당검사와 인슐린피하주사 항목은 간호술 항목에서 빈번히 수행하는 기본간호술 중 하나이며, 당뇨환자들에게 자가관리 교육을 할 때도 사용할 수 있는 항목이다. 본 연구는 이 항목을 가지고 학습자의 체험을 중심으로 가이드, 미션, 피드백의 3단계로 나누어 몰입형 VR기반 핵심기본간호술 콘텐츠를 설계하였다. 이 콘텐츠에서는 실제 간호술처럼 콘트롤러를 사용하지 않고 손가락 관절인식을 통해 손의 움직임을 트랙킹하여 몰입하며 훈련할 수 있다. 이 연구는 임상 수행 능력 향상을 도울 수 있는 VR 간호술 교육 콘텐츠 개발에 도움이 될 것이다.

Current status of simulation training in plastic surgery residency programs: A review

  • Increased emphasis on competency-based learning modules and widespread departure from traditional models of Halstedian apprenticeship have made surgical simulation an increasingly appealing component of medical education. Surgical simulators are available in numerous modalities, including virtual, synthetic, animal, and non-living models. The ideal surgical simulator would facilitate the acquisition and refinement of surgical skills prior to clinical application, by mimicking the size, color, texture, recoil, and environment of the operating room. Simulation training has proven helpful for advancing specific surgical skills and techniques, aiding in early and late resident learning curves. In this review, the current applications and potential benefits of incorporating simulation-based surgical training into residency curriculum are explored in depth, specifically in the context of plastic surgery. Despite the prevalence of simulation-based training models, there is a paucity of research on integration into resident programs. Current curriculums emphasize the ability to identify anatomical landmarks and procedural steps through virtual simulation. Although transfer of these skills to the operating room is promising, careful attention must be paid to mastery versus memorization. In the authors' opinions, curriculums should involve step-wise employment of diverse models in different stages of training to assess milestones. To date, the simulation of tactile experience that is reminiscent of real-time clinical scenarios remains challenging, and a sophisticated model has yet to be established.

임상약학 교육을 위한 수련과정 (Clerkship on Clinical Pharmacy Education)

  • The goal of this clerkship is to expose the student to basic skills needed fir a patient oriented pharmacist to assume an existing clinical role and participate in therapeutic decision making processes. As the pharmacy profession has moved from the traditional product orientation to a patient orientation, curricula within the college of pharmacy have evolved to include more experiential coursework to lister this patient orientation. This change has been supported by the philosophy of pharmaceutical care which encourages pharmacists to assume a patient advocacy role in optimizing a patient's drug therapy while minimizing the adverse effects of the medication. The role of experiential education, and especially the clerkship experience will be to hasten and enhance the development of this concept and philosophy for pharmacy students.

간호학생의 비판적, 반영적 임상실습 경험 내용분석 - 임상실습 지식 습득 과정 - (Content Analysis of the Student Nurse's Critical-reflective Clinical Practice Experience)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine what effect reflection on clinical practice experience had students as learners and care providers. Qualitative research method was used to study a group of four-year undergraduate nursing course. Content analysis was done using the classification method of Carper's four patterns of knowing. Results of the study indicated that the use of the reflective process of clinical debriefing and journaling was impact on the aspect of nursing science, moral component of knowledge in nursing, personal knowing in nursing and the art of nursing. Especially, students moved from a passive to a more active mode of learning. The most significant finding was that over time, reflective processes resulted in the emergence of the client as the central focus of care. It was suggested that reflection was an important learning tool in professional education and that the skills required for reflection need to be developed in professional courses.

Evidence-Based Medicine에 대한 소개 (Introduction to Evidence-based Medicine (EBM))

  • EBM is "the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in mating decisions about the care of the individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research." EBM is the integration of clinical expertise, patient values, and the best evidence into the decision making process for patient care. The practice of EBM is usually triggered by patient encounters which generate questions about the effects of therapy, the utility of diagnostic tests, the prognosis of diseases, or the etiology of disorders. The best evidence is usually found in clinically relevant research that has been conducted using sound methodology. Evidence-based medicine requires new skills of the clinician, including efficient literature-searching, and the application of formal rules of evidence in evaluating the clinical literature. Evidence-based medicine converts the abstract exercise of reading and appraising the literature into the pragmatic process of using the literature to benefit individual patients while simultaneously expanding the clinician's knowledge base. This review will briefly discuss about concepts of evidence medicine and method of critical appraisal of literatures.

임상실습 전 동료멘토링 학습을 적용한 OSCE 프로그램이 간호학생의 핵심기본간호술 수행자신감과 비판적 사고성향에 미치는 효과 (The effects of Peer Mentoring Learnings-based Preclinical OSCE program on Self-Confidence on Core Basic Nursing Skills and Critical Thinking Disposition for Nursing Student)

  • 본 연구는 임상실습 전 동료멘토링 학습을 적용한 OSCE프로그램(객관적 구조화 임상시험)을 실시하여 간호학생의 핵심기본간호술 자신감 및 비판적 사고성향에 미치는 효과를 파악하고자 수행하였다. 연구설계는 비동등성 대조군 전후실험설계의 실험연구로 연구대상은 J도 소재 일개 4년제 대학 간호학과 2학년 학생 68명이었으며 연구기간은 2016년 2월부터 2017년 2월까지였다. 연구결과 임상실습 전 동료 멘토링 학습을 적용한 OSCE프로그램(객관적 구조화 임상시험)이 핵심 기본간호술 수행자신감과 비판적 사고성향을 대조군에 비해 실험군이 유의하게 증가시켰고, 중재 후 핵심기본간호술 자신감과 비판적 사고성향 간에 긍정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 임상실습 전 동료멘토링 학습을 적용한 OSCE프로그램이 간호학생의 핵심기본간호술 자신감과 비판적 사고성향을 향상시키는데 효과적이었으므로 이를 토대로 동료멘토링 학습을 적용한 OSCE프로그램의 효과를 비교분석하는 연구를 제언한다.

시뮬레이션 기반 간호교육이 간호학생의 지식과 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Simulation-Based Education on the Knowledge and Clinical Competence for Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effect of simulation-based education relevant to the care of patients with acute renal failure (ARF) for third-year nursing students. Methods: This study was a non-equivalent control pre-posttest design. Based on the clinical situation scenarios pertaining to patients with ARF, a simulation-based learning module was developed using Human Patient Simulator version 6 (HPS6) manufactured by Medical Education Technologies Inc. The pretest was conducted so as to evaluate the difference in prior knowledge and clinical competence between two groups. The control group consisted of 91 students during the 2010 academic year and the experimental group consisted of 94 students during the 2011 academic year. Data were analysed using SPSS/win 10.1. Results: In the experimental group, knowledge related to care for ARF patients was not significantly increased; however, clinical competence improved significantly for the experimental group. Conclusion: In conclusion, the simulation-based education program was effective in contributing towards the development of clinical competence. Increased development of clinical competence is vital for today's clinical environment where nursing professionals need the necessary knowledge, thinking, and performance skills to meet the needs of the hospital and their patients.

참여학습과 관찰학습의 실습만족도 및 임상수기술 (Satisfaction of Practice and Clinical Skill in Participation Learning and Observation Learning)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare satisfaction of practice and clinical skill in different participation learning and observation learning, and to offer the basic data to promote quality of nursing education. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post-test design. The subjects were 62 nursing students of K college in Jeonbuk, and the period of data gathering was limited from 19 Nov. 2006 to 30 Nov. 2006. Experience group was taught by hand-on education and control group was taught by conventional education. The instrument tools included self-efficacy, satisfaction of practice and clinical skill. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS-PC programme. Result: The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically a significance difference between the two group about satisfaction of practice(t=2.011 p=.043), and clinical skill(t=11.997, p=.000). Self-efficacy showed a significantly positive correlation with satisfaction of practice(r=.476, p=.000) and clinical skill(r=.178, p=.014). Also, satisfaction of practice showed a significantly positive correlation with clinical skill(r=.l82, p=.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that hand-on education is an effective learning method to nursing students. By utilizing hand-on education, makes nursing students plan self-directed nursing performance and improve their clinical skills.

South Korean nursing students' experiences of clinical practice in the newborn nursery and neonatal intensive care unit: A phenomenological study

  • Purpose: While clinical practice is crucial for nursing students to acquire the skills needed to provide professional, high-quality nursing care, further studies on improving undergraduate nursing programs are needed to provide a supportive clinical learning environment for student nurses. This study aimed to understand nursing students' clinical experiences in newborn nurseries and neonatal intensive care units and to provide basic data for the establishment of strategies to promote effective clinical education. Methods: Interviews were held with 15 nursing students at J University who had clinical practice experience in the newborn nursery and neonatal intensive care unit. The collected data were analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method developed by Colaizzi (1978). Results: The nursing students' experiences were grouped into four categories: "expectations for and anxiety about clinical practice", "acquisition of a wide range of knowledge regarding neonatal nursing", "challenges faced in clinical practice", and "experiencing interpersonal changes". Conclusion: The current neonatal practice nursing education system provides students with positive learning experiences. However, the lack of practice opportunities, insufficient instruction, and the theory-practice gap were identified as major issues hindering students' learning needs. These study results are expected to provide basic data for curriculum development to improve undergraduate nursing education.

치위생(학)과 학생들의 직업기초역량이 진로의사결정에 미치는 융합적 영향요인 (The Convergence Effects of Key Vocational Competency on Career Decision Making in Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구는 치위생(학)과 학생들의 직업기초역량이 진로의사결정에 미치는 융합적 영향요인을 파악하고자 부산과 울산지역의 대학교 치위생(학)과에 재학중이며, 임상실습 경험이 있는 학생 196명을 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 24.0 프로그램을 통해 빈도분석, 상관분석, 선형회귀분석을 사용하여 산출하였다. 연구대상자의 직업기초역량 인식수준은 3.38점, 진로의사결정은 3.30점으로 나타났으며, 직업기초역량의 하부요인 중 직업윤리 인식 수준이 3.46점으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 직업기초역량이 진로의사결정에 미치는 영향요인으로 대인관계능력(p<0.01), 조직이해능력(p<0.01), 자원관리능력(p<0.01), 자기개발능력(p<0.05), 문제해결능력(p<0.05), 수리능력(p<0.05)에서 유의한 수준으로 나타났다. 따라서 치위생(학)과 학생들의 직업기초역량 강화는 진로의사결정을 하는데 중요한 기여요소이므로 치위생 교육이 전공역량과 더불어 직업기초역량을 골고루 갖출 수 있도록 학생개인, 학과, 대학차원의 융합적 노력과 교육과정 개발이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
