  • The current study aims to validate Employment Hope Scale (EHS), a dimension of Psychological Self-Sufficiency (PSS) scale, among self-sufficiency program participants in South Korea. Self-sufficiency has been understood primarily from an economic perspective in both policies and studies, with which the process participants changes has been ignored and neglected. This study suggests psychological approach to self-sufficiency programs for the paradigm shift to 'client-centered' practice. In this regard, this study tests the validity of EHS using exploratory factor analsysi (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) in South Korea, developed from a bottom-up client-centered approach and found a 4-factor 17-item structure as Korean EHS(K-EHS). The study results indicate that the K-EHS can be used as a valid supplementary process evaluation tool for self-sufficiency programs.

  • Recently augmented reality technology has been researched to view the virtual shape of buildings before construction or cultural heritages under recovery. Those researches used special devices or markers that are not applicable in long distanced outdoor environment. Also the server had to compute a lot of transformations for the location changes of virtual objects. This paper proposed a mobile augmented reality system that uses GPS and accelerometer sensors in order to compute the virtual object's locations without using markers. The server determines the position and orientation by comparing the GPS data obtained from the client with the predefined 3D object informations in the server. If the server sends the virtual object informations such as the position, orientation and matching information, then the client matches the virtual object on the screen of mobile camera phone. In addition, the client computes the transformations of location change detected by the accelerometer derived from the user's movement without additional connection to the server.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to provide occupational performance evaluated by stroke patients themselves as an intervention according to the periods of its outbreak and examine the effects of it on their activities of daily living and life quality by using the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). Method: The subjects of this research were divided into nine persons for the experimental group receiving the client-centered occupational therapy intervention and another nine for the control group getting the conventional occupational therapy intervention. And the intervention was performed for 30 minutes, three times a week, for total eight weeks. The level of activities of daily living was evaluated by the Functional Independence Measure (FIM), and life quality was tested by using SS-QOL. Results: First, about the difference of change in the FIM points of the two groups, there was statistically significant difference in Mauchly's sphericity verification (p<.05). Second, about the difference of change in the SS-QOL points of the two groups, there was statistically significant difference in Mauchly's sphericity verification (p<.05). Third, regarding the coefficient of difference in the change of FIM and SS-QOL points according to the two groups, there existed statistically significant correlation in all the evaluations of before, in the middle of, and after the FIM points and also before, in the middle of, and after the SS-QOL points (p<.05). Conclusion: With the findings of this research, we can see that the client-centered occupational therapy training group shows more improved activities of daily living and life quality than the conventional occupational therapy training group. Therefore, it is expected that the client-centered occupational therapy training will be applied usefully to clinical situations as an intervention to improve stroke patients' activities of daily living as well as life quality.

  • The theory of psychotherapy was established by a single case study. Even though it was lack of generality, it must have been a basic important role in the clinical field. Under the above assumption, the therapist had only one client as a case study that couldn't be well adjusted and had many conflicts because he not only had many complexes, but could'nt recognize complexes themselves. The chief problems to the client who complained the psychosomatic symptoms and anxieties were assumed dependency and inferiority complex. In order to recognize these complexes, therapist had 30 interview section with him. The major goal of therapy was the maturation by which the ability of recognition of complex was obtained. The measurement of effect as to whether the client was matured or not was the advancement of schoolwork result and the progress of sociometric rating. Besides, the therapist exerted all the possible effort in interpreting psycological problems was found in every section of interview. The result of this therapy was known as a full progress in academic credits and in the development of human relationship as same as therapist's expectation.
