For the effective classification of complex subjects, a library classification scheme should adopt multiple division principles (or facets). Each of the multiple principles adopted for the division of complex subjects is sequentially applied at each stage of division. The order of application of these multiple principles during the process of division of complex subjects is called citation order. In order for a classification scheme to be consistent and logical, the citation order of division principles applied to classify complex subjects should be concrete and consistent. Especially, in case of enumerative classification system, decisions on citation order to represent complex subjects significantly affect the structure and organization of the classification system. There are basic principles and theoretical canons of the classification theory on the citation order and its application, but they cannot be applied solidly in the process of classification system development for practical reasons. Therefore, this paper first reviews previous works on classification theories regarding citation order, then explores the conditions and circumstances for the application of citation order.

The support vector machine has been well developed as a powerful tool for solving classification problems. In many real world applications, each training point has a different effect on constructing classification rule. Lin and Wang (2002) proposed fuzzy support vector machines for this kind of classification problems, which assign fuzzy memberships to the input data and reformulate the support vector classification. In this paper another intuitive approach is proposed by using the fuzzy ${\alpha}-cut$ set. It will show us the trend of classification functions as ${\alpha}$ changes.

Library classification schedule IS based on the classification theory, principle and the system of the classification of science. It should be consisted of the basic principle of library classification which should use the library materials effectively. Continuous study and research on the each subject field of the discipline are essential for keeping up with the transformation of each learning field and the change of modern society. In this paper, I studied comparatively the sections and subsections of the management in KDC, DDC and NDC and reviewed the academic systems of each subject area in the management. I tried to compare the relationship beween the structure of library classifications and academic systems for the more specialized subsections of the management. KDC is influenced by the principle and structure of DDC, but I found that KDC is more similar to NDC than DDC in the sections and subsections of the management. Being un sufficient of subsections of KDC and NDC, they are not enough for the expansion and specialization of the subsections in the management. DDC is necessary to re-schedule for the proper expansion of 650 and 658 with reflection of the importance of that sections and academic systems. In this study, I adoped 9 sections of management, (1) Management policy (2) Administrative organization (3) Personnel (4) Office management and business information management (5) Marketing (6) Financial management (7) Production management (8) Accounting (9) International management. It would be necessary for us to study continuously about the specilized subsubsections of the management for the more professional classification.
Plant leaf classification is a significant application of image processing techniques in modern agriculture. In this paper, a multi-granular angle description method is proposed for plant leaf classification and retrieval. The proposed method can describe leaf information from coarse to fine using multi-granular angle features. In the proposed method, each leaf contour is partitioned first with equal arc length under different granularities. And then three kinds of angle features are derived under each granular partition of leaf contour: angle value, angle histogram, and angular ternary pattern. These multi-granular angle features can capture both local and globe information of the leaf contour, and make a comprehensive description. In leaf matching stage, the simple city block metric is used to compute the dissimilarity of each pair of leaf under different granularities. And the matching scores at different granularities are fused based on quotient space theory to obtain the final leaf similarity measurement. Plant leaf classification and retrieval experiments are conducted on two challenging leaf image databases: Swedish leaf database and Flavia leaf database. The experimental results and the comparison with state-of-the-art methods indicate that proposed method has promising classification and retrieval performance.
Purpose: The central aim of this study is to leverage machine learning techniques for the classification of Intrusion Detection System (IDS) data, with a specific focus on identifying the variables responsible for enhancing overall performance. Method: First, we classified 'R2L(Remote to Local)' and 'U2R (User to Root)' attacks in the NSL-KDD dataset, which are difficult to detect due to class imbalance, using seven machine learning models, including Logistic Regression (LR) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). Next, we use the SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) for two classification models that showed high performance, Random Forest (RF) and Light Gradient-Boosting Machine (LGBM), to check the importance of variables that affect classification for each model. Result: In the case of RF, the 'service' variable and in the case of LGBM, the 'dst_host_srv_count' variable were confirmed to be the most important variables. These pivotal variables serve as key factors capable of enhancing performance in the context of classification for each respective model. Conclusion: In conclusion, this paper successfully identifies the optimal models, RF and LGBM, for classifying 'R2L' and 'U2R' attacks, while elucidating the crucial variables associated with each selected model.
This paper proposes remotely sensed image classification method by fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm using average intra-cluster distance. The average intra-cluster distance acquires an average of the vector set belong to each cluster and proportionates to its size and density. We perform classification according to pixel's membership grade by cluster center of fuzzy c-means clustering using the mean-values of training data about each class. Fuzzy c-means algorithm considered membership degree for inter-cluster of each class. And then, we validate degree of overlap between clusters. A pixel which has a high degree of overlap applies to the maximum likelihood classification method. Finally, we decide category by comparing with fuzzy membership degree and likelihood rate. The proposed method is applied to IKONOS remote sensing satellite image for the verifying test.
Research for multi-variate classification has been studied through two kinds of procedures which are feature selection and classification. Feature Selection techniques have been applied to select important features and the other one has improved classification performances through classifier applications. In general, each technique has been independently studied, however consideration of the interaction between both procedures has not been widely explored which leads to a degraded performance. In this paper, through integrating these two procedures, classification performance can be improved. The proposed model takes advantage of KBANN (Knowledge-Based Artificial Neural Network) which uses prior knowledge to learn NN (Neural Network) as training information. Each NN learns characteristics of the Feature Selection and Classification techniques as training sets. The integrated NN can be learned again to modify features appropriately and enhance classification performance. This innovative technique is called ALBNN (Algorithm Learning-Based Neural Network). The experiments' results show improved performance in various classification problems.

Until now, Many approach to use the layer or attribute items in GIS the classification results of remotely sensed images is going on, but It was rarely ever tried to use the results of fuzzy classification in GIS. The fuzzy classification can be accurate than any other classification methods of remotely sensed images and can separately extract the result for each classification items. In this study, We applied to GIS database implementation with fuzzy classification result. In the process of this study, We convert the fuzzy classification image into the grid of GIS database, and Membership Grade Value files transformed to table database into the GIS. And then Membership Grade Values related to each grid-cell of database be able to verify with pointer layer. Finally, we can use the fuzzy classification images in GIS database.

While science and technology information service portals and heterogeneous databases produced in Korea and other countries are integrated, methods of connecting the unique classification systems applied to each database have been studied. Results of technologists' research, such as, journal articles, patent specifications, and research reports, are organically related to each other. In this case, if the most basic and meaningful classification systems are not connected, it is difficult to achieve interoperability of the information and thus not easy to implement meaningful science technology information services through information convergence. This study aims to address the aforementioned issue by analyzing mapping systems between classification systems in order to design a structure to connect a variety of classification systems used in the academic information database of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, which provides science and technology information portal service. This study also aims to design a mapping system for the classification systems to be applied to actual science and technology information services and information management systems.

This paper proposes a novel framework for traffic video classification based on chaotic features. First, each pixel intensity series in the video is modeled as a time series. Second, the chaos theory is employed to generate chaotic features. Each video is then represented by a feature vector matrix. Third, the mean shift clustering algorithm is used to cluster the feature vectors. Finally, the earth mover's distance (EMD) is employed to obtain a distance matrix by comparing the similarity based on the segmentation results. The distance matrix is transformed into a matching matrix, which is evaluated in the classification task. Experimental results show good traffic video classification performance, with robustness to environmental conditions, such as occlusions and variable lighting.
