We carried out a validation-calibration study of the food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) that we had previously developed for a community-based cohort of the Korean Genome and Health Study of the Korea National Genome Research Institute. We have collected a total of 254 3-day diet records (DRs) from 400 subjects, 200 each randomly selected from the two study cohorts of Ansung and Ansan. FFQ was administered at the time of cohort recruitment in 2001, and DRs were collected during a two month period from January through February of 2002. The mean age was 52.2 years. Farming for men and housewife for women were the most common occupations. The majority of the subjects had undergone 6∼12 years of education. The general characteristics including demographic and other data were not different from the total cohort subjects. Absolute levels of consumed nutrients including total energy (energy), protein, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, iron, retinol, carotene, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin and vitamin C were compared. The average of energy intake was not significantly different between the data collected by the 2 methods. However, consumptions of protein and fat were higher in data of DRs, whereas that of carbohydrate was higher in FFQ data. Significant correlation of each nutrient consumption between the data sets was observed (p < 0.05) except in the case of iron, while the average correlation coefficient between them was 0.22 ranging from 0.33 for energy to 0.11 for iron. The results of cross classification by quantile for exact classification ranged from 25.2% (carotene) to 35.0% (phosphorus), and from 64.6% (vitamin A) to 76.4% (retinol) for adjacent classification. The proportion of completely opposite classification was 8.1% in average. Calibration slope was estimated by regression and calibration parameters ranged from 0.025 for carotene to 0.423 for niacin. We conclude that the FFQ we have developed is an appropriate tool for assessing the nutrient intakes as ranking exposures in epidemiology studies in view that amounts of consumed nutrients obtained by FFQ were similar to those collected by DRs, that correlations between consumed nutrients collected by these methods were significant, and that classification results were relatively fair. The correlation coefficients, however, were lower than expected, which may be mainly due to the survey season. In fact, any short-term dietary survey cannot accurately reflect the overall dietary intakes that change heavily depending on seasons. Further studies including the analysis of chemical indices would be helpful for the studies of causal relationship between the diet and disease.
Objectives This research was proposed to present Clinical Practice Guideline(CPG) for Soeumin Disease of Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM): Congestive Hyperpsychotic symptomatology. Mortality of domestic people from cardiovascular disease ranked second, which followed that of from cancer last year. Therefore, it is very important and urgent to enhance the reliability of medical examination and treatment for cardiovascular disease. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the most commonly used noninvasive methods to evaluate autonomic regulation of heart rate and conditions of a human heart. In this paper, our aim is to extract a quantitative measure for HRV to enhance the reliability of medical examination for cardiovascular disease, and then develop a prediction method for extracting multi-parametric features by analyzing HRV from ECG. In this study, we propose a hybrid Bayesian classifier called FP-based Bayesian. The proposed classifier use frequent patterns for building Bayesian model. Since the volume of patterns produced can be large, we offer a rule cohesion measure that allows a strong push of pruning patterns in the pattern-generating process. We conduct an experiment for the FP-based Bayesian classifier, which utilizes multiple rules and pruning, and biased confidence (or cohesion measure) and dataset consisting of 670 participants distributed into two groups, namely normal and patients with coronary artery disease.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of self-care, symptom experience and disease state among the patients with liver cirrhosis and to identify its correlation. Methods: The subjects were 220 patients with liver cirrhosis who were treated in D-university hospital in Busan. The instruments used for study were the self-care inventory, the symptom experience inventory and modified childpugh classification scale. Results: The average points of the patient's self-care performance, symptom experience, and disease status were 3.67, 29.10 and 6.12 respectively. Their self care was negatively correlated to symptom experience, and symptom experience was positively correlated to disease state. Conclusion: This research findings suggested that active self-care by patients with liver cirrhosis might contribute to reduce various symptoms they can undergo and to prevent aggravation of disease state. Therefore, patients with liver cirrhosis have to carry out self care actively in daily life and discreet nursing intervention should be offered to facilitate their self-care.
Through the classification of region and kinds of illness about the death of vagrants from 1906 to 1942, the results on the study of vagrants under the rule of Japanese imperialism are followings.1. The statistics about the death of vagrants from 1906 to 1912 have no coherence. So this study excludes that time.2. A mental disease as a cause of death of vagrants is 25.4%. It shows the highest ratio of all the other diseases.3. A mental, nervous disease among the cause of vagrants' death is 15%.4. On outbreak ration of mental disease is 26.7 times in men, 24.6 times in women higher, and on nervous disease 48.1 times in man, 48.9 times in woman higher than Japanese.5. Regional outbreak ratio is higher than Japan. The orders are Chonlabukdo, Chungcheongbukdo, Hwanghaedo, Kangwondo. The above results show that vagrants under the rule of Japanese imperialim is produced by cause of disease. The cause of vagrants' death is also related to social situation at that times. And it accord with the basis of documents. The relation between the death of vagrants and mental, nervous disease are considered to be studied in detailI.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic data in child health education or counselling through content analysis related to child health in newspaper articles. Data were collected 8 daily newspaper by selecting health articles from neonate to adolescent period during 1 year from January 1 to December 31 in 1998. The data were analyzed in the framework of content analysis method and the reliability degree was 98% by the method of Holsti. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The frequency according to health category, disease treatment(46.7%) topped followed by health maintenanceㆍpromotion(28.0%), disease prevention(14.7%), growthㆍdevelopment(10.6%) 2. The frequency according to season, summer (36.4%) rank first. 3. The frequency according to WHO international disease classification, infectious disease (29.6%) take most. 4. According to child developmental age, similar frequency showed from infant to adolescent except neonate. 5. 201 themes, 43 category,4 health categories were confirmed in the content analysis. 6. Health maintenceㆍpromotion occupy 28.0% of health category include 14 categories. 7, Growthㆍdevelopment include 6 category occuping 10.6% of the whole health category. 8. Disease prevention occupy 14.7% of health category and contain 6 categories. 9. Disease treatment take top of health category by the rate of 46.7% and contain 17 categories.

Heart disease is becoming the top reason of death all around the world. Diagnosing cardiac illness is a difficult endeavor that necessitates both expertise and extensive knowledge. Machine learning (ML) is becoming gradually more important in the medical field. Most of the works have concentrated on the prediction of cardiac disease, however the precision of the results is minimal, and data integrity is uncertain. To solve these difficulties, this research creates an Integrated Accurate-Secure Heart Disease Prediction (IAS) Model based on Deep Convolutional Neural Networks. Heart-related medical data is collected and pre-processed. Secondly, feature extraction is processed with two factors, from signals and acquired data, which are further trained for classification. The Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) is used to categorize received sensor data as normal or abnormal. Furthermore, the results are safeguarded by implementing an integrity validation mechanism based on the hash algorithm. The system's performance is evaluated by comparing the proposed to existing models. The results explain that the proposed model-based cardiac disease diagnosis model surpasses previous techniques. The proposed method demonstrates that it attains accuracy of 98.5 % for the maximum amount of records, which is higher than available classifiers.
The purpose of this study is to contribute to the study of the prevention of diseases and promotion of health of ocean going vessel crew members, through the medical diagnosis and disease classification efforts of this study. From the second half of 2016 to 2017, the diagnosis and health characteristics of 195 crew members were collected through counseling, treatment, and emergency care for about 1 year and 2 months. As a result, it is noted that the incidence of diseases was in the order of urticaria (5.6%), lumbar sprain (4.1%), acute gastroenteritis (3.1%) and anxiety (3.1%). In categorical review, the incidence of musculo-skeletal disease was the most common (25.1%) which was followed by skin disease (17.9%) and digestive disease (11.3%). In addition, the disease that was noted as was the most common in the under 30 years old category, and the incidence of the disease was high in the crew group. Finally, there was a difference between the pathogenesis (trauma vs disease, etc.) (p <.001) and the type of vessel (merchant ship and fishing vessel) (p <.005) as noted in this case.
Objective : To develop a boner understanding of the relationship between weight status and the prevalence of obesity related diseases in the Korean population. Methods : The 1998 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey was used and 10,880 persons who had previously taken health examinations were selected for study. The Korean Society for the Study of Obesity's classification of weight status was used. Hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, osteoarthritis, chronic heart disease, stroke were included as obesity related disease. A logistic regression model was developed to estimate the prevalence odds ratio by obesity class adjusted for demographic and socioeconomic factors and we converted the odds ratio to a prevalence ratio using the base line prevalence of disease to aid in the interpretation of the ratios. Results : The prevalence of obesity was 26.3% based on the KSSO classification $(BMI\geq25)$. A graded increase in the prevalence ratio was observed with increasing severity of overweight and obesity for all health outcomes with the exception of chronic heart disease in men and stroke in both men and women. With normal weight individuals as the reference, for men who were younger than 50 years, the prevalence ratios were highest for hypertension BMI<23-25: 1.70(95% CI=1.41-2.05), 25$BMI\geq30$: 4.83(95% CI=3.70-5.84). The prevalence ratios for dyslipidemia were as high as hypertension, but were lower than hypertension for diabetes mellitus and osteoarthritis. Prevalence ratios generally were greater in younger adults. The prevalence of having 2 or more obesity related diseases increased with weight status category, except in people who were older than 50 years. Conclusions : Based on results, obesity is an increasingly important health problem in Korea and the disease burden increases according to weight status. For Korean adults, the strongest relationship was seen between weight status and hypertension and dyslipidemia. In older people the impact of excess weight and obesity is stronger than that seen in younger people. Increased efforts in the study of obesity and prevention and treatment of obesity and obesity related disease are required.
